I've been using nothing phone 1 from almost last 4 months and from update of Nothing OS 1.1.7 the UI sometimes becomes unresponsive and phone automatically reboots.. Was using applications from outside app store but none of them affected my previous phone ( Oneplus 7 )..
After the software reset, I've been using application from play store. Still the problem persists. I've pulled up logs to identify the cause. . Can anyone help ???

If after your factory reset you have reinstall your apps and above all restore your backup from a cloud backup ou have high chance to have restore also apps/settings causing your crash system.
Make a manual backup :
- SMS/MMS/Call Log with SMS Backup & Restore
- Your personnal files (DCIM/Pictures, Downloads, etc...)
- Your Social Apps (WhatsApp, Signal, Etc...)
Your problem can be also caused if you are Root and using bad/incompatible Magisk Modules.
For a true test you must do a full factory reset with formatting data, and test your device without restore any backup could contains system settings (from Google Drive/Cloud or from a Root app like Swift Backup) and without any MagiskModule (if you are root).
You can log your Google Account but don't restore your backup or just your Contacts.
After that install manually your apps from PlayStore, not from backup.
You can restore your local backup :
- SMS/MMS/Call Log with SMS Backup & Restore
- Your personnal files (DCIM/Pictures, Downloads, etc...)
- Your Social Apps (WhatsApp, Signal, Etc...)

I flash to KitKat factory image from CM10.2 (wiped everything including my internal memory), and then I flash to CM11 nightly and use titanium backup to restore only my app data. and here is where the problem comes in, none of my data is restoring from Titanium, although it says data restore completed in titanium, it actually isn't. Every apps force close when I open it after restoring. After that if I restart my phone, those app that i restored will be disappeared from my app drawer, it didn't appear in settings -> app either, if i try to install again it won't install, only way is to manually search for the apk file through file manager and delete it. I cant restore anything from titanium backup! FYI, I only backup the data of the app, not including the apk, but after restoring the app force close and restarting my phone the whole app gone missing from my app drawer. I can't lose all my data. what can I do? please help :crying::crying:
Another question, every time after u guys flash a new rom do u restore the old android ID or use new one in titanium backup?
Latest update of TB has caused some issues for many people. For me, on some roms, it fc's when I click an app to restore. Try googling for an apk of a previous version, and see if the problem persists. Regarding the id, you can keep the new one. Some functions might not work properly though, like location update. You can go into your settings for your Google account on a computer and withdraw access rights for apps and devices, then everything is fine. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hello, since my system had been unstable recently, I used Keis to backup my Note PRO and did a hardware reset. I selected all to backup everything and also selected all to recover everything. Unfortunately, after the recovery, I found:
1. Some settings were set incorrectly or disappeared.
2. One photo became corrected
3. Stored passwords to google, yahoo, Facebook are gone. I need to re-enter everything
4. The mails that I sent to people using the mail address from my phone company are all gone.
So, Keis 3 is not a reliable app to backup the device?
Keis 3 is not a complete backup software it will only save samsung and minor system settings. You need to be rooted to backup data files which hold most of what you have missing.
It's sad that we can't have a full backup of all needed settings and files. There are some solutions like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup&hl=en_GB Helium which is the only 9 new that will not need rooting the device.
Wish you the best in your journey
Chris

Hello
I switch ROMs from time to time and whatsapp is the only app that gives me issues. Sometimes i even flash 3 ROMs in a day. I usually backup my apps using Titanium Backup and restore app+data once on the new ROM. There are times that i only backup whatsapp app+data as there is a 24 hour restriction on re-registering with whatsapp servers ( sms or calls ) . Anyone know a workaround this ?
I usually backup whatsapp app+data and then restore it once on the new ROM. The problem with this is that even though i get my whatsapp data back and apply the required permissions , I am still not able to get push notifications from whatsapp. I have to launch the app to check for new messages. For me to get the push notifications , i have to uninstall the app , reinstall and do the registration again.
Is this tied into Google connectivity services or Android ID as a new one is generated upon the TibU install ? How does everyone else get around this being a flashaholic ? :fingers-crossed:

This is a bug
Happened to me way before
This is what i do
Backup chats within the whatsapp settings (just to be sure if TB gives some prob, can happen so why not take precautions )
Then downlaod whatsapp from play store and restore your data when setting up the device
Or
Backup app+data from TB
Download whatsapp from store
And without opening it go into settings and give all the permissions and then switch to TB select whatsapp and select restore data only
And you should be good to go.
Cheers :highfive:

Thnaks I will follow your method next time , appreciated!
Why dont you just allow Whatsapp to do a backup of your messages (in the middle of the night) and then just use Whatsapp to restore them after you flash your new rom? Do you actually modify a lot of settings in Whatsapp?

Backing up is not the issue , there is a 24 hour limit for registration to whatsapp servers . If SMS is used that option is taken away and then calling option gets available. If that's done too , you have to wait 24 hours
After flashing and trying out many Custom ROMs on my Note3, I've been burned several times by having backups that don't work.
For example.
1. Had Lollipop 5.0.1 ROM, backed up everything to Samsung Smart Switch and Samsung Kies. Everything backed up, verified it manually. However, after upgrading to CustomROM MM 6.0.1 I cannot restore anything except contacts. No call log, no SMS, no apps and their settings (this takes most time to manually re-install). So Smart Switch and Kies are useless for me.
2. I also backed up everything in Titanium Pro when doing MM6.0.1 -> MM6.0.1 full wipe install. However, when restoring the backed up apps I had many force closes, many apps didn't work at all, many got their Google Play market issues borked (no amount of manual removal/reinstall helped this) and some could not be restored with my custom settings. So, Titanium Pro is near useless for me.
3. I also backed up to Google's own Marshmallow Backup feature. I got _most_ apps backed up, but not all of their settings and not all restored properly. Again, this is nowhere near 100% success and I had to manually re-install Launcher, it's desktop layout icons/positions, all widgets, all call logs, all SMS messages. Lots of work. This has been the "best so far, but nowhere near good" backup that I've been able to find.
So, is there anything out there on Android 6.x that just works? Always. No questions asked. Restores properly. Has clear reports on how/why/when it fails?
Helium Pro and MyBackup Pro both have tons of recent horrible user reviews. I'm not sure they are any better and rather not risk again all my apps/settings/data, because there's another for-pay software that almost works, sometimes
So, any recommendations?
How do you back all your:
- all contacts
- all call/text logs
- all SMS/MMS messages
- all user installed apps and their settings, all system settings
- all accounts and their passwords
- Launcher & setting and incl. desktop, lock screen, icon positions, app re-naming, etc. (I'm using Nova Prime)
Media files, incl. photos I can and always to backup manually.
Of course, I'm not looking to backup a whole ROM, incl kernel/system/baseband modem. Just the apps/settings and everything else.
Titanium backup can do all the things. Except backing up google password for example because I'm not sure which app is storing it.

Thanks, I already have Titanium Backup *root* and have tried it, but it fails on so many issues still.
Even the google backup is better, IMHO (i.e. more reliable on the average).
Never had TB pro fail over many many years .
That with a Nandroid/ Clockwork mod recovery covers all my needs .
Contacts i backup to sim card and Google.
Dont require text/ calls backup nor SMS messages .

Restored via Clockwork Mod backup restore data .
Hi all,
I have S8 with stock android and many applications installed on it some of them are payed etc... Is it possible to fully backup my phone with all settings wallpapers, sms-es, apps and everything? Then to wipe all data on it to be like a new one, and after that to restore the image and the phone to be like today with all apps settings and eeeeverything
The idea is that phone will be used temporarily from another person for some weeks but i dont want to loose my apps.
Thanks
Hi,
As far as I know, if you're not rooted, you have to use Samsung Kies or another software on PC to backup everything.
Personally, I use SMS & Call log Backup, My App List to backup/restore all applications with Google Play (purchased items too) and I have to open every application I'm using to make individual exports to SD card if the application offers it but that's not efficient...
So I will root and then use Titanium backup to backup everything with one click (app + settings).
Sincerely,
