Hi guys,
I’ve bought this head unit off eBay. It does pretty much everything I want it to. CarPlay works fine however I can’t speak through the microphone that was provided. The other person cannot hear me. Also don’t like the look of the software interface and I can’t change the built in theme. I can only change the wallpaper but this doesn’t change the interface.
Is there a way of installing clean version of Android. Preferably a latest one with Apple CarPlay?
I would be grateful if someone can help. I have used the search button but couldn’t find my answer!

Hi, in short words: no. In long words: It's possible to build your own rom but that needs some skills and all those specific drivers from the manufacturer.
Best way is to ask the seller or manufacturer for the latest software. The other way is to accept the flaws and modify the system as good as possible without touching the rom itself.

Hello, I know that not a htc pda, but that good too
I just bought it in ebay and I would like to give it at my father, but before I would like to upgrade very old winCE 2003 for a WM5 or 6, but my question is : Is it possible to take a rom loke faman rom and put it on this device.
Hope it will be good, because lot of new software don't work on this old platform.

Simple answer: it probably won't work.
In my experience, ROMs are only usable on the device they were made for. I don't know Faman, but if he is on this site then he is probably cooking ROMs for HTC phones. You will do best to find a ROM that has been made for the Asus and trying to install that.

Well I think it depends on the device and how old it is. If the device is vga or qvga. Post the name of your device and you can get a real answer!

Looks like you've installed a Chinese ROM or .cab file. Your device hasn't just decided to display a Chinese screen, you must have done something. Whatever it was - undo it!

Okay, first, let me check something, because I'm not really sure what is wrong with your screen.
Since you installed a chinese ROM, I think you like to have the chinese symbols.
Now is my chinese language in a very early stage, (like I need to start learning it) so what is the problem with the screen.
Because if it is the chinese, you should reflash it with a ROM that displays the language you like to see.
if that is not the issue, then what is the problem

Ok. So my company purchased two 7" Android tablets pre-production from China. They turned out to actually not be "real" android as it seems to be running a skinned down Android on top of Windows CE. We are looking to place Android tablets in retail locations for a pilot test. I'm looking for a developer that would be able to do one or both of the following:
1) Put REAL Android on here. It doesn't matter whether it is 1.5, 1.6, etc. but we don't want Windows running in the background for the obvious reasons.
2) Develop a VERY simple (but pretty) application for a registration process that would guide the user through entering the values for the questions we are asking. The trick to this app is we also need a way to completely lock the device down so that the user can only use that app. Maybe a hidden button in a corner that would prompt for a password so that we could get out of the app.
We would gladly send one of these tablets and let the dev keep them for their time and we would also be willing to discuss pay based on time invested. Please PM if interested. Pics of the units below:

Porting Android to this device is probably an insanely time consuming and difficult project. Just look at the Android porting projects for various Non-android HTC Devices such as the Touch Pro/Diamond. Takes for ages as drivers needs to be written, etc...
I think you would be better of thrashing those fake tablets and maybe do some proper research next time you buy something from China..

Good luck. If it is not MTCD radio there is no support for routing or ROMS in my experience.

There is a second one in the canbus settings but nothing happens when I change the settings would you know why? Here is a photo of the eq which is not working

hello and thank you for your answer the seller is only an intermediary and does not really know the HU ^^ I will have to manage without him. I think that changing the firmware could partially solve these problems.
if ever a charitable soul had a rom for me that would be great. I see plenty but not knowing enough I'm afraid to put a bad one and end up with a breeze block
