the sda-music, (or maybe sda only? how may i find out what device it is? its labeled "T-Mobile SDA" but seems to be the sda.music...) which is my girlfriends phone, produces many freaking errors lately.
so i decided, to not only hardreset the device, in fact i wanted to reflash the device with WM5 or 6 so there would be some nice software and feature additions.
But i read two posts, at least, that mentioned the authors device being bricked during flash-process...
now i wanted to know if the tornado is really that vulnerable.
and what is better flashing wm5 or wm6, is wm5 more stable and final than wm6?
i think the device is shipped with WM2003(se?).
is there any possibility to back up the existing rom and extrom (if there is one), to have the original rom anywhere backuped? (to reflash it, if anything isn't nice with wm5/6)
greetings
hoping for some answers.

hi guys, i need a bit of help with something. a friend of mine brought me a device (don't want to know), which has windows embedded ce 5.0 on it.
can someone tell me where and how can i download and re-flash this device with a ce 6.0 version?
do i need something like HardSpl?
can u explain wich type of device ??? tutan, trinity, diamond etc etc
i think he's talkin' of something like a PNA or smaller device... anyway, the flashing procedure is device specific and this forum is HTC oriented so you're probably in the wrong place for that question.
For sure you're in the wrong forum area.
it is a device, not pda, or mobile kinda thing. something like a small computer.
where should i go in order to find help? soz for the wrong forum section.
Sorry for wasting a thread here..
After around 3 months of fun, experimenting with different ROMS my touchscreen has stopped responding. I've searched in this form and could not find any solution. Thats why I'm planning to take it to the Customer Care. Before that I need to get it back to the original shape. Here lies the problem..
I've installed the original ROM. Now when I try to install the original SPL there is a notification which needs my approval which I cant approve as my touchscreen is not working. Any other solution to restore the original SPL.
I've tried the one here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381600
I would be thankful for any help.
I saw a page about a firmware update at:
http://htc-linux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Leo/Wifi#Firmware
I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer. (I did search this forum and the developer one. Didn't find what I was looking for.)
Have there been any reported issues with the new firmware?
Does this actually upgrade the firmware on the phone (permanent, run just once), or just run a virtual firmware layer (update every build with it)?
Is there a change log showing what's been updated with the new firmware?
Who put out the new firmware? Was it HTC or a third-party developer?
Is there a file to revert back to original (if it is a permanent change)?
What's the deal with the free software firmware over at OpenFWWF? It's directly under the GNU section, but the outline columns make it seem like it's part of it.
Thanks for any help you can give in the matter.
Edit: Oh, and it's for HD2s, right? The Europe or American version?
This is all just observation take it for whatever its worth.
I Havent tried it as I use a modified kernal.
I am no dev but I dont think its permenant as Its for the android builds. I do believe that onces its included you wont have to keep adding it to every build.
Cant tell If it was from htc looks like its originally from broadcom themselves.
I found this http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/system/wlan/broadcom.git;a=summary
I think that maybe the base for the driver over all.
Hopefully some can shed some better light on the subject as you have great questions.
I am looking to see if i can find anymore info.
Anyone have any information on this?
If I'm posting in the wrong section, please let me know, or move my post for me...
I'm trying to find an ADB enable firmware for boot loader version 5, kernal version 3, and system version 4. Or, at least, I think that's what I'm looking for. I know that's the boot loader I'm looking for though. Everything I find is for lower versions.
I have tried searching all through the forums, and google. Either I'm not wording things right, or I actually don't know what I'm looking for.
Right now I have the combination firmware installed.
Aside from the above;
I'm trying to remove my google account from my device because I forgot the password, and I only had the email logged in on the device. I know, I'm stupid for not removing it first before trying to flash anything else, but, alas...
Is there anyway to remove my google account from my device from the combination firmware? Boot loader is not unlocked...so probably a huge issue there. I've found quite a few resources that detail how to do this, but they all have older firmware versions for the "ADB enabled" firmware downloads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Heck, I'm an IT guy, I'm willing to learn something and really get into the internals and tear this thing apart, even if it's in some buggy setup that could get me closer to goal. ( I know that makes it even worse that I didn't think to remove my account though, so please go easy on me..)
Dude you have to ask in "question/answer" section of this forum to find any help that could solve your problem.
Have a good day
