so i was just playing around and used adb to and my PC was able to find adb devices and i was run some simple commands but when i try to reboot to boot loader it looks like its trying to as i hear plugged in sound after phone booting but immediatly disconnect sound and it boots normally and i tried rebooting to recovery and it booted to a screen with robot with a red exclmation mark and no command on the bottom and i tried some key combinations but nothing worked except holding vol down and power boots it back, does this mean att or lg have not installed recovery or is it blocked, i am aware bootloader is locked but it should still boot to recovery as it did in the g2 days that i can remember, any ideas, thank you.
update and few questions,
in the lg g 2 days on att non rooted phone the button sequence would take you to factory erase screen and if one accepts it it erases and then boots into stock recovery but now on lg g6 it does not , it erases and boots normally, and i tried adb reboot bootloader and it wont work and i tried adb reboot recovery resulting in flat robot with red exclamation mark and NO COMMAND on the bottom, i am just trying to understand, is it that secure boot in nougat is locking me out or is it att that disabled recovery and fastboot, any thoughts appreciated.
I rooted and changed kernel on my P9 lite single sim in order to use OTG, but then went back to full stock for OTA update.
Phone downloaded it but when it reboot to install, instead of booting recovery mode started a boot screen loop.
At this point, I can just let it go out of battery and then reboot in normal mode.
FASTBOOT DOESN'T WORK, as well. Both fastboot and recovery mode are broken. Both came up in a boot screen loop.
How can I solve this?
Thx.
The problem is, if I try to update with OTA, that the phone enter in a boot screen loop. Until the battery is down.
No recovery, nor bootloader.
So today I wanted to boot into recovery mode to clear the cache and data but found that I simply couldn't get to recovery mode. Holding power + volume down gets me to fastboot mode, but then when I select recovery mode and press the power button absolutely nothing happens. The screen goes blank and just stays blank. I've tried waiting for 10 minutes and still nothing. I can boot back into fastboot mode, I can power on the phone like usual, from fastboot mode I can restart the bootloader but if I select recovery mode I just get a blank screen. Anyone experienced a similar issue maybe?
I'm running the stock OS with a locked bootloader if that might be important
I just entered this hell today. lol. because there's no data/OS , nothing by fastboot. Phone is no longer found by anithing. Any help would greatly apreciated.

What kind of recovery mode are you trying to enter?
Did you flash TWRP recovery before?
What stock version are you using? Jan stock or Feb stock?
You can try to re-flash TWRP, make sure you're in Jan stock before doing so.
And you should have unlock boot loader to do so.

There is literally nothing on the phone but fastboot . it's empty. So i'm tossing this in the file, and I ordered another from Swappa.
Thank you for responding, it's greatly appreciated.
So I was installing twrp and everything went right until it didnt boot to the recovery and from then it keeps booting to lg logo and bootloader warning forever.
I know I can install the stock rom with lg up by I cannot enter download mode since the phone isnt technically turned off. Does anyoene have a solution.
It's my main phone and I literally cannot afford a phone right now.
A way to turn it off would be the solution. Battery was around 70% so it will take a long time to actually have 0%.
Update: I got to the fasboot menu from where I can run fastboot reboot recovery after installing twrp again. Now I have some mounting issues and I cannot flash any zip without entering bootloop. Im trying to use the shut down menu of twrp to try to enter download mode.
2nd Update: solved using lg up with the latest android version.
Hey everyone. Had my McLaren bootloader unlocked and rooted for years on 11.0.1.2.
Today I decided to install the TWRP. Everything went great, installed it tested it... phone worked and TWRP worked
I then decided to go back to TWPR and I tried booting my phone in the other slot... (SLOT A)
Now in slot A no matter what I try phones just stuck in CrashDump Mode.
Using power + volume down + volume up buttons gets the phone to show FastBoot for about 2 seconds but then it goes back to CrashDump Mode automatically.
How do I get back to my working SLOT B? I really don't want to have to wipe my phone and reinstall everything
I'm pretty sure that fastboot will wait for a device connected before sending the command. Try the command fastboot --set-active=b and just try to get in fastboot long enough to send it. Good luck! I'm getting one of these phones tomorrow and I know it has a lot of problems going into crashdump mode... I wonder if it's the 5G chip or something.

You can install TWRP on both slots once your phone is in fastboot mode. Now boot your phone in recovery and switch the slot for system.
