Hello All,
I've had my watch for a good 6 months now under the impression that it was going to be getting the wear os 3 upgrade. After a hickup with my phone ive had to reset it but quickly figured out that apps like google maps and keeps no longer support wear os 2. Not a huge issue, i can install them with an apk, which i have done.
I was wondering if there was any mods or custom roms i could install onto it to improve its functionality, or just mess around with it.
Even if i have to do a little coding to get something like linage on the thing, i think that would be fun.
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all!

Heya,
So i experienced a lot of problems with the stock ROM on my S4 taking up way too much space and being kinda slow and crappy, so after hearing of CM and the speed increases and benefits it can have, i decided i'd give it a go, and for about a year now its been my daily driver.
However it has some issues, which are recently becoming more of a problem to me.
Now the first one might have seemed like a deal breaker to anyone else but honestly i wasnt too frustrated with it.
This issue is that the 3g connection with the device when im out and about straight up doesnt work. It shows red in the pull down menu and just doesnt work.
Next issue is that the camera has been severely downgraded in image quality.
Now recently i've been requiring the phone more than usual when out and about doing my job as tech support.
My issue is that i want these features to work correctly, but i dont want to run the stock ROM, can anyone advise how i can either fix these issue with CM or can you help me choose a different ROM which doesnt have these particular problems?
Run one of the Google Play Edition ROMs. Fewer problems will be had as these ROMs are versions of Android untouched by Samsung except for the inclusion of the libs needed to properly run the phone.
Another alternative is to go back to stock, but with the addition of some time spent in debloating the ROM, and with the addition of a new launcher to replace the stock version.
Excellent, thanks for the advice, i've now installed JFLTE after a bit of research and it's so far a very pleasant experience, ill report back if i have further problems with the mobile data connection but so far it appears to work.
Hey All, no offense on the vast feature set of Cyanogen OS, but, I would love to have stock Google Android, preferably 5.1 on my Yureka.
I tried to find the port on net, but for no luck. Please share if someone have a clue on the Stock Google Android port for Yureka.
I agree!

CM12.1 has been one long nightmare. The Camera App freezes, Blackout and wallpaper change/theme change, One App Redraw over another causes sudden screen blackout, Spontaneous Black Screen, Boot-time that takes well over 2 minutes, Black Screen doesn't let me receive calls most of the time(and its got NOTHING to do with the proximity sensor believe me! The new update is just whacky!!). I've seen around and found out that this is not an isolated case with me. Infact, there are many suffering from the same. I've been enduring for long, in hopes that a new update will come around but at this point I think I want stock android too.
Hello Guys,
Just like so many others I experienced a loss of speed with my Nexus 7 2012 Wifi Tablet. Most lags occur if I open apps, and since I recently upgraded to Lollipop 5.1.1 (I manually downgraded to 4.2 after experiencing an unusable tablet with 5.0) YouTube videos stopped running smoothly too.
After reading a lot about it, I rooted my Nexus 7 yesterday (successfull according to RootCheck) with the intention to try LagFix free. But I just get the notification "TRIM is not supportet on following partitions /data /cache"
Why? What exactly does that mean and is there a workaround hidden in the settings? Are there any other apps that effectively speed up Nexus 7? I don't feel too comfortable doing the trimming manually, cause I do not know a lot about programming.
Does it help if I install CyanogenMod (10.2 seems best for Nexus 7)? Is this not supported TRIM a problem if I install CM? And will CM be able to speed up my tablet at all? (I bought it sep 2013 and use it frequently) Or are these lags 'natural' for a two years old device and I should just live with them?
Since - as mentioned - I am quite new to this whole programming and flashing, I'd rather not mess with the software if there is a big change that it's not going to make a difference.
Thanks in advance for your time & answers!

A nightly of CM13, installing Trimmer (also called fstrim) and setting it to once daily and removing journaling ought to fix your prob. I had the same prob before too. Go on Gtrcraft's CM13 thread, he has the steps I told you in more detail.
CM10.2 is a good choice for speed and performance, I've been using it for 3 months and there is no lag.
This is my best setup for Nexus 7 : CM10.2, Fstrim (set twice everyday), Greenify
Hi All,
Just got my hands on a couple devices (some kitkat, some lollipop). They are all currently not rooted.
I see there is a lot of support for this device, so my question is, what should I do to these devices?
1) Downgrade them all, root them, and update them to lineage os? Is this relatively easy?
2) Can I upgrade them all to lollipop somehow, and then root?
3) What other options are out there, and what do you guys thinks is the best way to take this?
Cheers
Downgrade root and LOS/Candy7
You'll lose ir blaster and some other features though. What do you plan to use these tablets for?
I'm open to suggestions
I happen to have one of them (using it to post this reply) and I've been experimenting with it since the day I got it home. While it is a nice enough screen, the underlying hardware is showing how quickly things become dated.
TWRP was the first priority to get on this tablet, and it's currently still doing its thing as of today. I've tried most of the ROMs I could find as time has passed, and as of today I'm running Candy5. It feels better on this device than a Nougat based ROM (i.e. Lineage 14.1). It seems more responsive, less laggy, and in general just seems to run much more smoothly. I do find myself missing some of the features from Nougat (using an SD card as internal storage is a big headliner there)...but at least to me this device has its hands full trying to run Nougat.
I do find myself wishing my IR blaster worked and have been thinking of looking for a nice, lightweight ROM that had all the hardware working...well, most of it anyway. (IR Blaster and WiFi/Bluetooth for sure) I'd actually like to lose the cellular radio - or be able to disable it completely...and use SD cards as internal, without separate apps.
Anyone have any suggestions as to a ROM that fits this description? I've heard of a miniature version of Oreo - is it actually lightweight or is it gimmick?
Hello Everyone.
Sorry if this is in the wrong forums. I did a few searches first, and based on this thread with no results: https://www.reddit.com/r/WearOS/comments/bgwpco/checking_for_updates_for_wear_notification
It sounds a bit like a general wear issue... possibly only with older wear devices.
I have a Sony Smartwatch 3. I am often getting the "Checking for updates for Wear" notification.. Which means that my Google Play app, will just crash if I try to use it.
Sometimes it seems to help, to sync wear apps, via the Wear OS app.. but not really anything tangible..
I actually flashed stock Android 7 on my Moto X Style, because I thought the issue was due to running custom image.. but I am still getting this error, as long as I have my Smartwatch connected..
Does anyone know anything about this.. possibly any clever solutions.. Or is it just a big middle finger from google/sony about buying a new smartwatch ?
Thanks in advance.
