i am stuck i have recorded 5 video clips and non will play back on the device i have just tested another short clip before posting this...what is the point of having a phone that does clips and has the software for playing it back and all i get is sound ???
do need to download load another program to over ride the one that is built into the phone ? this is crazy...adding to this i have seached the internet and come up with no info i know this is a new phone but by the looks of things there is no info apart from reviews on the internet about it which i do not need as i have the damn phone.
First off, I apologize if there is a better place to post this, I am new.
The thing that I'm trying to accomplish is having my note 3 stream it's screen on to my laptop. I've read quite a few threads about this but they all lead to either rooting and going through a bunch of hoops, apps that only let you manage files, or apps that let you stream PC games to android.
The note 3 comes with USB 3 which is really nice and is what caused me to make this thread. My laptop isn't exactly a gaming laptop so it doesn't have the newest nvidia gpu but it can play crysis 3 on low at around 60 fps so it isn't bad either. It has plenty of ram and a good cpu and does have USB 3 ports. Since the note 3 is such a beast of a phone, is there a way I can use bluetooth or USB 3 to stream my video over? I'd like to play a game like dead trigger 2 or something and have it come up on a bigger screen but still use the phones screen to control it. I don't really care about mouse or keyboard either so no worries there.
Thanks in advance

It can be done too by installing Teamviewer Quicksupport: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.market
And its Samsung addon: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.quicksupport.addon.samsung
U install Teamviewer on your laptop, and thats it! no root, no hassle.. just run quicksupport, enter the numbers in the desktop app and it's done

Agree.... someone needs to buy and review it!
I just ordered one last night. I'll do a review and possibly a video when I receive it.

I haven't received it yet. These things usually take awhile to arrive since they are being shipped from China.
When your GT08 does arrive, I was wondering if you'd be willing to answer a few questions about it for me:
Does it have a compass? I've seen some product descriptions say "yes" and others say "no". (This is a very important feature to me, for no valid reason whatsoever other than it's cool to have a compass on your watch.)
Is it water-resistant? I don't necessarily need to go diving with it, but something that could survive a quick hit by a water faucet would certainly be useful.
How customizable are the watch faces? I know that it comes with several built in, but is there a way to make a custom watch face?
Is it usable WITHOUT a SIM card just over Bluetooth?
Thanks, and let's hope those ePackets have swift wings!
- Dave
I just received it. I will still do a more thorough review, but for now I will answer your questions.
There is no compass. Sorry.
I'm afraid to wash my hands while wearing it. I don't think it would survive.
There are 3 watch faces and they cannot be customized.
It is usable over Bluetooth. A lot of the features require an Android phone, so I cannot test them because I have an iPhone. The phone features work and all audio from the phone (music, voice navigation, etc.) can be routed through the watch.
Keep in mind I've seen multiple versions of this watch, so my answers may not apply. Mine has a mix of iPhone and Android icons. I paid $60, so I can't complain. Video review coming soon.

Just ordered mine. I'm going to make a full review with photos and videos on my blog when I receive it, stay in tune.

Sneak-peak on how it's look like:
youtube.com /watch?v=my439mw5zOA
Has anyone can make a rom dump installation freware to watch if I give this dump rom?
It is called Aiwatch GT08?
This smartwatch costs only €39,99 on the site tidybuying.com
I like this smart watch and price is relatively low.
It has 1.54 inch screen,
ROM 128 MB
RAM 64 MB
and it supports 2G.
Firmware for GT08
Hi
I'm looking for a firmware to download, because my version has only English and
Chinese languages installed.
Thanks
Klaus
I bought the GT08 smart watch today and can't wait till I get it. I noticed that there were lot of different names for the same thing (GT08, CK3s, Oumax S6 etc...) and the screenshots on the watch look slightly different, so there must be different firmwares. Does anyone know if the firmware can be downloaded, edited or flashed in some way? Is it possible to install apps or games on this system? Java apps perhaps? This would be sooo cool :fingers-crossed:
any good review ? please include available watch faces and what do you think of it ? is it worth buying ?
Smartwatch GT08 / CK3s / Oumax S6
Ok I'll try a short review then...
Hardware
The watch arrived today and on the first sight it looked really cool and good quality. It's big of course but not too big and I like the design very much ( seems they 'borrowed' it from the apple watch) . The belt can not be changed because it contains the nfc antenna. This is bad, because the shutter is really annoying and bad quality. You can insert a micro sim card and a TF card into the watch, so it can be used as a phone itself but I didn't try it out. There is a built in camera but it has only 0.3M and the pictures are really crap (sorry for that). The screen ist colorful and bright but its not IPS and the viewing angles are very small, the touchscreen works very good.
Software
The watch has some strange chinese proprietary firmware and not android wear so it is not possible to install any apps. In fact it feels like a litte time warp to the time before devices had android. There is a filemanager and I've copied some java apps to the watch but the system doesn't know what to to with them. Some of the pre-installed apps don't work either. There is a browser (useless because you don't have wlan or 3g) and a FM-Radio which is also useless, because you have to plug in earphones as antenna and the watch simply has no jack für earphoes. One app is a qr-code to download btnotification software for your smartphone, but the code points to a dead link. There is a pedometer that works, but I don't know what it actually does (at least it doesn't count steps) and some other smaller things (alarm, stopwatch, voice recorder, sleep monitor, etc..)
There are only few possibilities for personalisation: 3 (boring) analog watch faces and 3 themes (meaning backgrounds for the menus).
Bluetooh pairing worked well and after I tried some apps from the playstore I got notifications from my smartphone at last. I was able to remote control my smartphone to make and receive calls with the watch and to access the contact list of my phone. I've tried to use a bluetooth headset with the music player but the sound quality ist so very bad, its abolutely useless. So you have to play the music on the tiny built in speaker but who would want that? So the music player ist also useless, which would have been an important feature for me.
my opinion
Don't buy! I will definately return it to the seller, because it is so very not what I wanted.
Ok, it is a cheap watch with benefits and a telephone funktion. The design and built quality is very good for a chinese smartwatch but when it comes to usability, customisation and all day handling there is hardly anything positive to tell. I wanted to post pictures but I didn't understand how. I clicked the icon and was asked to enter some url? Anyway there are some reviews on youtube, just enter one of the names GT08 / CK3s / Oumax S6 which mean all the same device.

did you try the mediatek app ? it allows you to some stuff, from playstore. does it look cheap ? I think the bezels are too big for the screen. How much did you get it for ? I have a store here selling it for 68$.
Plus, I have seen it pop a keyboard for typing an SMS, and have a reasonably long battery life. I don't know why you didn't like it. What makes the galaxy Gear 1 for example more special than this ? (forget S-crap)
And did you try having the earphones in THE PHONE, maybe that will make the radio work on the watch, just some thought.
Yes, I used the mediatek app. Thats how I made the notifications work although I had some troubles with it loosing the connection or crashing the app. It was not possible to install anything over the app onto the watch, maybe it is made for other models or firmware. It also didn't look, as if there were lot of possibilities with the app and the app had nothing to do with a playstore.
The watch has the ability to write sms and pops up a small onscreen keyboard. It is really small but can be customized. I didn't say I like the Samsung smartwatches better, I didn't try and it would be too expensive and without a real phone funktion. Maybe it's not yet time for a good and cheap smart watch, using real android. There are some offers from simvalley, but their models look really big and ugly.
Of couse I can put earphones in the phone, but what use will the watch have then? It is possible to stream music via bluetooth from the phone to the watch but not the other way. The fm-radio is a feature of the watch and needs the earphones plugged in the watch as an antenna, otherwise noting will happen. I thought it would be possible to use the watch as musicplayer without the phone, but it doesn't work good with bluetooth headset.
I payed about 60€ for the GT08 from a german seller, but I know there are offers from chinese stores about 35$. For me it was important to have the ability to return it easily if something wasn't right and get my money back then.
I have noticed that another member of this forum (BigBison420) has made a review of the oumax s6 smart watch some time ago which is the same device. for additional information it might be worth reading. I'm sorry I can't post links yet, but I'm just new to this forum.
---------- Post added at 01:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:03 AM ----------
I mentioned in my review that I will send back the GT08 smart watch, because it was not the real thing I was looking for. Now I found a new device which has nearly the same design, a better screen and runs on android (including playstore). It is just called K8 android 4.2 3G smart watch, I don't know if I'm allowed to tell the sellers page (I cannot post links yet). Here some specs:
OS:Android 4.2
CPU: MTK6572 Dual Core 1.0GHz
GPU: Mali-400 MP
RAM+ROM: 512MB+4GB
Bluetooth version: Bluetooth V2.3
Display: 320*320 pixels
Camera: 2.0MP
Support MP3/MP4/GPS/WiFi/3G Function
Compatibility:Compatible with Android smart phones
Notes: Provide E-file English manual
Note: This phone will only work with GSM+WCDMA networks: GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz WCDMA 850/2100MHz
It looks really promising and seems to be a lot smaller and more beautiful than other android watches with those specs and it'll cost below 100$. I can't wait to get it, but delivery will last about two weeks or more. If anyone is interested, I can do another review, altough I didn't have much practice on that...
I got an RK8 box and runs great with my 4k TV. Exception being HDMI. When I turn on the RK8, it will not display on my TV. I have to unplug the HDMI from the box and plug it back in and than it will work. Is there a setting that I'm missing?
It's plugged into my HDMI port on the LG for 2.0. The TV also recognizes it as an HDMI 2.0 devices and switches the tv to 10bit colour on that port. Only issue is unplugging and plugging back in the HDMI cable to it to show.
Hi Kevin. Have had the RK8 for a couple of months now, and after the first couple of weeks using it on my Samsung UE65JU6070, I can no longer switch it on with my remote (switching off works fine), thus I have gotten used to unplug/replug the power cord. Maybe it's the same issue you're experiencing? I'll check tonight if unplugging/replugging the HDMI cable does the same trick for me as the power cord.
Can I ask, what is your experience in playing 4K youtube video's? It seems mine is very reluctant to do so (doesn't work on the youtube app, and only sporadically using a webbrowser).
Otherwise I agree with you .... it is a great box which seems to run very stable without any overheating issues etc. ..... and having upgraded KODI to 15.2 means I no longer have any stability issues there either (NB: if you do this update, you need to uninstall the pre-installed KODI 14 first .... so remember to save your settings etc.).
Just a last comment. At 70 USD this seems to me to be great value ..... I'm surprised it's so difficult to find other people on the Internet who have experience with this box ....
Best regards Mogens

I have no remote/power issues. Just issue with it showing on my tv. It powers up and won't display. TV see's that HDMI3 has power but does not show unless I unplug/plug the HDMI cord in the box.
I don't use youtube on this box. Just Kodi.

Hi again Kevin. Since my last post, it has happend 3 - 4 times that I've experienced your issue of "black screen", but for me it has come out of the blue. Picture comes back when unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable just as you say. I was wondering if you have gotten any closer to find a solution?
Pls be aware that I tried to update to Kodi Jarvis (16.0) release, but went back to 15.2 due to an issue with menu text being "corrupted", which required each time starting Kodi to go and change the font. Allegedly it's an issue related to HDMI as well, so I'm wondering if there is some "glitch" in the box' HDMI implementation (HW or FW).
I'm sure you have tried already, but if not, have you tried to move the HDMI cable to another input on the TV? Do you have some configuration possibilities with the HDMI inputs on the TV ... if yes, maybe play around with those.
Small quirks ... but I have to say that for USD 60, this is still an amazing box even if I still cannot power it on with any remote (but power off works fine with all remotes).
Best regards Mogens

I haven't had time to work with it to be honest. I think its a poor HDMI 2.0 design on the box. I still have the issue and just yesterday, my Kodi updated to 16 and I get the same issue as you with the block lettering which I haven't tried to fix as yet. Thanks for sharing changing of the font.
Reason I suspect its the unit and not tv, is because sometimes when it does not display on my tv. The tv gives a pop up indicating "The device connected does not support 10 bit deep colour". Then I unplug and plug and it goes away.
Hopefully I can get sometime to fiddle with it more and see how it can be resolved.
Have you tried to see if there is a software update? The update option on my box does not even work. I wonder if we both got knock offs or just duds.

Hi Kevin,
The box is made by Acemax, and there is no FW update since the original (believe the one it's shipped with is dated 30. sep 2015 ...but that's from memory as I'm at work). I don't think it's a knock off, but I do think it's a "standard" board which is basically put into a plastic cabinet, where the only difference to identical spec products (like the Xidoo X6 Pro) is the location of the USB ports. It seems it uses exactly the same components as that one and others similar to it ... however, Acemax do seem to have FW updates for other products they've made on their homepage, so ... who knows. If somebody is brave and skillful enough, such person may even try at install a FW from f.ex. the Xidoo box ... but I'm afraid that's not me (not due to lack of bravery, but ... skill!!). With that being said, I believe my issue with having to unplug/replug the power cord once per day is something I can live with easily (and it has worked, so it may be a question of resetting the box, which I frankly am to lazy to do!!), so .... I guess looking at such small quirks and comparing them to the overall usability of the box, then the trade-off is not too bad.
A quick view on a couple of threads for similar boxes (f.ex. the Xidoo) would seem to indicate that some of their users are having issues that makes ours "luxury problems" in comparison.
Anyway, I'll keep you updated if I stumble over something useful .... and would appreciate if you do the same.
P.S. A "clever" streaming guy has told me that the best Kodi version in terms of stability for live TV streaming still is Helix .... although I'm quite happy with Isenguard (got too tired of the font changing thing on Jarvis, so I re-installed Isenguard). I'm more or less only using mine for streaming HD channels (mostly UK Sky / BT sports) for EPL, and it works fantastic.
I found a weird solution for the unplug issue! When I turn on the box and my tv is on the hdmi port. I turn the tv off and turn it back on and the box displays. Tried this a few times and it worked.

Not sure if you saw my last note about the power. I've also figured out more about this box. It has a rockchip which is one of the worst to use. Kodi does not support that chip fully, hence the weird text when launched. We have to stick with the preload or, I've read some place to download the "X86" apk from the kodi site. Also, I tested my box on a regular 1080p tv with hdmi 1.4. And the issues of it not displaying right away, are eliminated which lead me to believe the hdmi 2.0 in this box is poorly designed.
I'm probably going to use this box in my room and get a box with an Amlogic chip for 4k as those are the better boxes to have and more support is offered.

Hi Kevin,
I just now saw your other post about the power .... I tried that myself, but to no avail.
I'm not sure you're right about the Rockchip being one of the worst technically, but in terms of support (official and un-official) you're right.
However, since I use my box for watching IP TV, I can live with using Kodi 15.2. I've tried the Kodi 17 dev version, and it has the same issue with garbled text as Kodi 16.
The Kodi x86.apk cannot be installed on our box .... I tried yesterday, but I guess it is for an Intel based android solution.
In terms of HDMI 2.0 implementation, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not perfectly implemented .... not sure if HDCP 2.2 also plays a role.
Anyway, at the end of the day you get what you pay for .... and since I paid USD 65 for my box, I have to say I feel I got a lot of value for money, despite it's few quirks .... and as a friend of mine always says; what kind of life would it be without complaints
Best regards Mogens
Hi again Kevin,
The family being out for Saturday shopping, I spent a little time with my afternoon coffee on the computer.
You are right, that KODI do not support the RK3368 SoC, as the manufacturer does not comply with Android standards, which necessitates that standard KODI is "hacked" to work perfectly with this chip .... something the KODI development community naturally does not want to do.
However, it seems the manufacturer Zidoo whose Z6 box is based on the same SoC, has showed some good customer service, and actually created a ZDMC app, which is basically KODI 16 with a few modifications for RK3368.
I downloaded their firmware for the Z6 box, and extracted the ZDMC apk from there and installed it on my RK8 box ..... and albeit I've only tested it shortly, it works beautifully with no issues so far. Apart from not having garbled menu text, it also seems like it's actually able to make 4K output (the standard KODI irrespective of versions only seemed to be able to show FHD, but would in turn show a refresh rate of twice the actual .... too techincal for me!).
Long story short, if you want to test it out, I've uploaded the above apk to Mega with the download link below.

Let me know if it works for you and/or if you find anything. Also let me know if the download link doesn't work.
Enjoy your weekend!
Best regards Mogens

Hi again Kevin,
Just a last comment this time around. I've now used the above mentioned RK3368 "modified" version of Kodi 16, and I have to say it is extremely stable and works better on the RK8 than Kodi 15.2.
If you have a chance, try it out. Given the very, very limited 4K material out there, I hope this box should be able to carry me through the next couple of years until availability of material as well as new compression methods become available.

I am looking at doing a project where you take the LCD from an Android tablet (I have an old SCH-I905); and add an HDMI input to it so it can be used as a monitor. I have no experience with how I would even get started on this; besides the 3+ days of Googling that resulted in nothing. I would very much appreciate if someone from the community had something to offer! From some research, what I could see that would maybe do the trick is using some sort of LCD controller board.
Thank you.
do yo know how to operate LCD controller of your SCH-I905? i think if you just want to use your device as an external monitor that you can use 3rd software to do it.
I am interested to know if you have found a way
I'm interested on projects like this. I want to put a female hdmi to lcd or the board or something like that, to view on tv, ie: watch videos without using screen mirroring (for older lcd tv's), playing games in real time (without cuts), youtube, and many more things. If anyone knows about it, please let me know.
Best regards
Im also looking for the same thing. I actually wanna find a way to make my old phone into a notebook. My old notebook motherboard has broke, so i wanna try to transform my phone into the notebook itself using the hardware that is left. I'm pretty sure i wont make it, but ita worth the shot.
