[CLOSED] IMEI change. - Android Head-Units

Hi..
I went into my factory settings and changed my IMEI from the stock headunit IMEI to a local prepaid mobile phone IMEI and I went into Google Play store and it updated CARRIER SERVICES on my unit. Is this enough to change the baseband of the unit or does this only allow the headunit to now be seen as a unit regioned to my country (Australia) and android updated to recognise the local carriers.
If it didn't update the baseband, is there a way to do this?

Hello and good morning, @jawbraeka2
Edit or change of IMEI is illegal in quite a few of countries. For this reason, I've closed and edited your thread! XDA doesn't allow and doesn't accept discussions about or support for such an edit or change.
XDA Forum Rules (excerpt):

9. Don't get us into trouble.
Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.

XDA Providing/Hosting Warez?

Based on the recent action conducted by XDA moderator, XDA likes to follow their set of rules, correct? Well I have a 2 questions to ask and I'll make it short.
1. XDA's rule #6
6. Do not post warez.
If a piece of software requires you to pay to use it, either pay or find your cracks and serials somewhere else. We do not accept warez nor do we permit any member to promote or describe ways in which Warez, cracks, serial codes or other means of avoiding payment, can be obtained.

In order to get Windows Phone 7, you would need to purchase a phone that comes with the operating system install (HD2 does not comes with Windows Phone 7 install), correct? In term, you have to pay for the operation system. XDA is allowing their member to provide links/hosting files to an operating system that is not open source. (Please correct me if I'm wrong in any way). By do so this falls under rule number 6, "avoiding payment" for Windows Phone 7.
2. XDA rule's #9
9. Don't get us in trouble.

Since Windows Phone 7 is not open source - does it consider copyright materials?
I'm surely will get ban for questioning their rules but it's a risk I willing to take in order to ensure everyone is being treated fairly. Rules are rules right?
Refer to this thread.
aww i missed that thread.. this can be closed.. already posted my question there.. thanks

Thread closed! 4pda.ru is not only another phone related website (and not at all affiliated with XDA) but also well known for the distribution of malware and warez. And just as a side note: Thread was absolutely unrelated to this device forum.

I recently purchased a one plus 6t. The seller did a very good job of hiding the fact that its a t mobile variant. I know this version causes issues but im still going to try and root it. The device has been unlocked for all carriers. Does this mean the phones software has been converted to the standard one plus software meaning I dont have to contact t mobile to unlock the bootloader? If not what should my next plan of action be? Any suggestions or info welcome and appreciated.

[CLOSED] IMEI Change

Hello Everyone! I want to ask if I could change IMEI of my Xperia xz2 premium?
No. It's illegal to do so in most places.
Don't get XDA in trouble...
Hi @danishsaleem.pk,
Changing a phone's IMEI is illegal in a lot of places, so we don't allow discussions on that. Repairing an existing IMEI is allowed, as long as it doesn't involve a publicly discussed paid service to do so.
