LG V30 to V35 (transformation) - LG V35 Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a question, I have an LG v35 all destroyed but with the Main Motherboard intact and I have an LG v30 without any problem, is it possible to mount the v35 board on the v30?

Welcome to XDA
Two different models with different hardware.
It will likely puke all over you if you try that. That different cams alone will probably crash it.
Use the same exact model as a parts queen if you want to do that...

I have V35 and V30 phones. They look deceptively similar. However, there are external difference that indicate the parts won't fit. Lenses are in different positions. SIM trays are not same length.....

Replacement Parts - Rigid Flex Board

I need to replace my Rigid Flex Board in my HD2 due to a mishap and was wondering if there is a difference between the boards in the European and the T-Mobile versions of the phone. I need one for my T-Mobile HD2 and I dont see them being sold, all I see is just one version of the thing so I'm assuming they're all the same, but I just wanted to be on the safe side.

I too am curious, if anyone can chime in on this.
Turns out they are pretty much identical on every version of the HD2 aside from the model numbers on the flex board. So I'm going to just order one and see how it goes. I will update the forums on my progress.

How to Determine the real H870 variant

1) I heared that LG unlocked the bootloader for their G6 smartphone for the H870 version.
2) I bought what was described as a "LG G6 H870 32GB (FACTORY UNLOCKED) 5.7" QHD (BLACK) International Version" from Amazon.
3) After it was shipped but before it arrived, I learned that not all H870 variants had an unlocked bootloader.
4) Upon checking the Item Model Number for my order it read "G6-H870DS/BLK".
5) Somewhat disheartened, I searched Craigslist and was quickly relieved when I found a OnePlus 5 128/8GB variant.
6) I printed my return info for the G6 and snatched the OP5. I left for a pre-arranged vacation.
7) After enjoying my OP5 on my vacation, I came back home and find the G6 has arrived.
8) Upon opening the envelope, I find that it simply says "LG-H870" on the box.
9) Now I'm uncertain as to which variant of G6 I actually have.
Is there a way to determine for sure -- without opening the box -- if I have the variant with the officially supported unlockable bootloader from LG?

H870 has only one variant, the problem is that LG have region lock. So if you want to unlock bootloader you should check the IMEI in http://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev?categoryId=CTULRS0702
If pass, is EU version, unlockable.
There's conflicting models in the O/P, one references a Dual Sim version.
The exact device-specific details will be on the box labels.

Does it have 32gb or 64gb. If it has 32gb it is the standard EU H870 and that is unlockable.
If it is 64gb then it can not be the single SIM H870 and must be the DS.

It is the 32GB LG-H870. I guess that means it's an unlockable version!
Now I have to decide if I want to use it over the OP5. I'm leaning towards OP5, although the G6's water resistance, better drop damage mitigation, and screen-to-body ratio are enticing. I'm a fan of the OP5's OxygenOS vs the G6's UI, but that becomes moot once I unlock it and use a custom ROM.
I guess I'll have to play with the camera on both for a bit. Over my vacation I really liked the photos the OP5 produced. My family members all have iPhone 7+'s and the bokeh effect of the OP5 was just as good from the shots I got. That said, the G6's wide-angle would be helpful in getting more scenery into the frame.
Don't know if I could go back to half the RAM though.
Okay, enough rambling.
Well, anyways, thank you all for the help!

Just curious - did you keep and successfully unlock your H870, and is it the DS (dual SIM)?
I ask because I'm considering looking for an unlockable H870.

Was your B&O branded?
Yes it was it's a h990n

Looking for LG V20 H990DS - mine broke!!

Tragedy has struck! My H990DS sustained water damage and cant be fixed (apparently) as there is damage to the logic board.
I loved this phone, it had everything I needed/wanted so now I am looking to replace it with an identical model.
If anyone has one they are looking to sell, please drop me a line!
Also, I am hoping those on this forum may know - is there an alternative equivalent on the market? I am yet to find a dual sim+dedicated SD phone with a decent enough processor (high level snapdragon) and a good amount of RAM.
I waited in hope last year that the V30+ would come out without the hybrid sim configuration and have a dedicated SD slot, but i was let down there. I am now hoping the V40 rectifies this mistake, but I dont think ill hold my breath. Its a feature that seems to be relegated to mid range devices these days.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Yes. It's really sad to see hybrid sim trays.
Xiaomi Poco F1 would've been a great alternative for you but it also had hybrid slots.

Can anyone recommend a wood case (not a wood skin) for V35?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone has come across any V35 wood cases? I saw one on Amazon but it's unavailable and they have no indication of when it will be available.
Any help would be appreciated.

Don't hope much for v35 accessories as its only a niche bunch (including me) who own the device and most manufactures do not want to invest much on us since we are only a drop in this humongous smartphone sea.
PS: And do not go for v30 cases as the camera cutout will be a bit off for v35 since its on a lower area when compared with v30.
