Decrease volume steps - Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 Questions & Answers

So I'm using the Android 10 beta for the phone (haven't found time to root because I wanna keep my data) and after the update to Android 10 I've found myself having to hold down the volume button for so long just to go from one end to the other, is there a way to decrease the volume steps of 30 back to 15?

[Q] 5 volume steps in locked screen, I want more please!

I have got SetVolume0.8.0.CAB, it's perfect. But if music play and i have got locked HD2 (for example: in my pocket), SetVolume0.8.0 not working and volume HW buttons is still 5 in steps
Is there any way to increase the number of steps in locked HD2?
Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
I'm interrested in this feature too.
It would be great if the volume steps in standby mode were 5-10% instead of current 20%.
Please.... Any solution?
It's not a GREAT solution but if you touch the volume slider instead of using the buttons, you can set it to any one of the 15 increments, so thats about 6-ish % per increment.
Sure. But that's a no go if you listen music while the device is locked...
On the lock screen (not "screen off") pressing the volume buttons brings up the volume slider if music is playing

Volume Icon

Is there any setting in Touch2 where in we can click on the volume icon & change the volume without using the volume key
For touch2 we can only change the volume using the volume key, i would like to change the volume using the volume icon just like in WinMo 6, 6.1
I don't get this at all. . . using the buttons on the side of the phone is the easiest way to adjust volume, period.
If the 15 levels of selectable volume via volume keys dont meet the accurate reqirements (i'm quite partial to having no more nor less than 73% myself),
you can always slide over to Settings > Sounds
you can then adjust volume from 0% to 100% for the rings & system seperately.
Hi Weznezz,
I am happy using the volume keys, but i would also like to know if there is any possibility of using the volume icon, to change the volume from the screen.
In previous WM builts you could do that indeed which I also liked......for some reason they took it away......
Will search and when I find something report back....
Hi Frank,
Thank you very much for understanding my request. Will be waiting for your response.
Regards,

[Q] Hard Reset Instructions Needed (No Display Available)

If someone could post detailed instructions on how to hard reset (via vol up/dwn/power buttons) the surround it would be much appreciated.
What I am looking for specifically is were the instructions say "Follow the instructions on screen"
My display is not working but I would like to hard reset it to c if that will help or at least get all my personal stuff off before i send it back.
I used Windows Live "Find My Phone" to Hard Reset it also I believe you can do it from Zune also.
1. Turn off or pull the battery/replace battery.
2. Hold both volume up and volume down keys
3. Press the power on button and continue to hold vol up/down keys for about 10 seconds past the vibration.
4. Press volume down once more to erase.
It should reboot on its own after that, but if not pull the battery again and reboot. The reset process only takes a few seconds at most once you press volume down, so if you don't see any screen after that assume its dead and wiped. Good luck.

Thanks for that post man, I know someone that just got the HTC Surround yesterday and I know I will be the one to do any tweaking or moding to it. This kind of info is just what I come to these forums to find. Got to love XDA.

It's only because I have wiped my surround many times... I am on my third one now. Long live XDA!

[Tip] Make the SOD's a little less annoying

If you're here at XDA, it means you flashed a ROM or two (or 10... 20... 1434240 )
If you've flashed any ROM, you probably encountered SOD's before.
You probably took out your battery and put it back in, in order to restart the phone.
But, recently I found out that you could just press and hold
Power Button + Volume Up Button
to restart the phone! (hard coded reset )
So as the title said, it won't prevent any SOD, but will sure make them feel less painful!!
hi,
i usally just press my power button for a few seconds and it reboots as well - i dont know if there is any difference if you press volume up as well.
best regards, dv
Correct procedure is: Home button + power button.
No, dervaganund is right. You can just hold your power button for a couple of seconds to shut down your phone, or hold it longer for about 8 seconds to reboot your phone. No need for volume or home buttons

Volume Stepping and Skip track option

Looking for 2 things.
1) the ability to skip and rewind tracks by long pressing the volume buttons when the screen is off
2) Increase the volume stepping from 15 to something more like 50
I have an S8+ Exynos, rooted phone. I've tried apps from the app store and none will work for me
