Hi all,
does anyone else have the problem, that the Always On display stops working between 11pm an 7am ?
I already tried to enable the bedtime mode an disable the 'Keep the screen dark' setting, but the Always On display keeps on being disabled at night.
Regards
Volker
I don't use AoD, but that definitely sounds Bedtime related
ok, I found the issue. If you click on the sentence 'Always show basic info of lock screen' it will bring you to a menu where you can choose a schedule or disable the schedule.

Hi everyone,
I have a big problem with my xda:
Every alert orevents the phone from switching off the light and switching off at all. Only after I click on "close", everything works fine.
The big problem is, when an alert pops up at night, the light stays active til' I confirm the alert and so the battery gets empty.
Is there any idea what's causing this problem?
THX,
MatMike
Its a windows setting...
Yes, I found this too. You need to switch off pretty much all of the alerts in Windows. I found the 'low battery' warning the worst. My battery goes fairly low, then in the middle of the night an alert pops up telling me the battery is low, and the screen stays on until you turn it off, or more likely the battery goes totally flat -doh! Anyway you need to go to "Start", "Settings" "Personal" "Sounds and notifications" and go through all of that list in Notifications to stop them switching the screen on etc. Great set of defaults hey!lol
Hi as the title says, is it possible to make Tasker disable all it functions so that I wont get my programmed actions happening at night when I sleep? I got all my profiles to go through the Alarm setting, so it would be nice to just turn the mobile upside down at night, so that the Alarm is the only thing working... Is that possible?
Hi everyone,
i had the same problem with my S2, but is there any way to keep the screen from turning on when the battery is fully charged? I understand it's a "feature" to make me unplug the charger, but it's really annoying when the screen turns on in the middle of the night. So far i've been placing the phone face down, so it won't wake me up, but that's not really the solution i'm looking for.

It does turn back off in a few seconds (after the screen times out), right?
Honestly not sure how this little light can wake you up
In any case, did you try some of the apps for the older galaxies, like Battery Silencer?
Another suggestion would be to turn on for the night the Blocking Mode in settings , and configure it to suppress notifications.

In developer options you need to turn off "always awake" or the phone "wakes up" when it has charged.
If you can't see developer options in settings / other, tap build number 7 times and it will appear
Thanks for the quick replies.

My sleep isn't very deep unfortunately... Yeah it dows turn back off after a few seconds, but it still wakes me up.
As far as I understood, those silencer apps and the blocking mode only supress the sound of the notification or do they also keep the screen from turning on?

The "always awake" option is already unticked, but the screen still keeps turning on for the timout period

I have that turned off on my phone, and it still wakes up for a few seconds when it's fully charged. Wakes up when I plug in the charger, too. Neither one is a big deal to me, though.

Ahhh .... must be a "design feature" then
I leave my phone in the computer room overnight (don't use it as an alarm) so I've not noticed.
I've put Do Not Disturb mode on when I'm driving, so that I don't get disturbed by notifications (e.gm whatsapp, Facebook, messages) popping up in bubbles at the top of the screen.
It's simply doesn't work - they still pop up! (albeit it doesn't vibrate).
I've selected the "hide visual notifications" option (see screenshot) but it doesn't work either way.
Anyone else have this issue? Any potential solutions?
Mine still give audible notifications in the night when it should be on do not disturb!
I have a much larger issue. My Galaxy S8+, I will turn on the setting to keep alarms on, one night it will work and the next night it won't so my alarm never goes off in the morning. Therefore I stopped using DND, turned all the setting to off even deleted the days it will operate to none and the setting STILL comes on every night at 1030. I go in to check my settings and they are all back on to the day before. Android is starting to get pretty poor with its updates.
if your display is on and in an app while in dnd calls will still come through if youre display is off they will not come through if youre display is on but not in an app the calls will not come through. No work around i can find as of now
This is so typically Samsung.. They finally fixed it, but only when the screen is off and when on the home screen
Ugh.. My Do Don't Disturb is dysfunctional.
If I'm listening to an audio book, watching Netflix or jamming to my tunes and someone calls what ever I'm listening to/watching pauses while the phone silently rings that's B.S. DND means exactly that DND. All calls should go straight to VM. when DND mode is on. Otherwise I can just turn the darn ringer off. DND is worthless.
For me works well. Only when the screen is off, like iPhone. Have you make the settings propperly? Because you can put if you want that calls don't show on screen.
A similar issue was fixed by hard-reset. Have you tried a factory reset? Factory reset stepMod Edit
Is there still no fix to this?
It seems like a pretty important malfunction and is super frustrating every night.
Anyone manage to get it working properly using Tasker?
On my S4, then S6 Edge I had a Tasker profile to turn on Do Not Disturb automatically when I plug my phone in to charge at night, and it worked a treat.
Not with the S8, no matter what I try, it still vibrates and activates the LED notification, even though it is showing as Do Not Disturb mode on, and in the settings I have ticked all the options to hide notifications when the screen is on, and off, and set no exceptions, or alarms only with the same result.
Any ideas?
My G950F jut got an update yesterday and last night I got woken up by an amber alert. The options to turn off alerts other than presidential are gone. No way to disable or silence ANY alerts. This alert came through while I was sleeping with do not disturb on. The phone sits on a vertical wireless charging stand and is used as my alarm clock. I cannot have this thing waking me up in the middle of the night. What can I do?
Me too! This is incredibly annoying. I was hoping I could disable a process with BK disabled but I can’t find anything that resembles emergency alerts or the like.
