I need help - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all, I'm not sure this is in the right spot but I effed up pretty bad. I got hasty with my taps when in the twrp and wiped my whole watch . Is there any possible way to get it back? There is currently no OS on it. I have a ticwatch pro 3 gps.

There are already some threads about this, you should do a little research before:
TicWatch Pro 3 Ultra GPS (Rubyfish) [Complete Stock TWRP Backup]
I heard that many people need the stock backup files for the TWP3 Ultra GPS so here you go! Note, this is the "PMRB.220111.001" base version https://mega.nz/file/1AlCDJ7S#GoX8tWbfkZ7EALwA3gDvX7lOCKPms6oQVogEo5Th32E Enjoy my friends!!
forum.xda-developers.com

I guess I don't understand. It's not letting me push or sideload anything. Im not understanding how I can get the files into my watch for them to work. If I try to push or sideload it shuts off at about 80% saying it couldn't read from the device. I feel like I'm screwed.

[Q] problems after Kitkat

I have a stock note3 and since the Kitkat update, lost ability to record calls - nothing works, just static noise from all of them.
Also Gmail app and K9 failed. Aquamail works a treat tho'.
I'm sure there are other bits n bobs (sd access, battery life etc) that are flaky but I haven't fully tested the phone.
A call recorder is essential in my line of work so guess I need to 'fiddle' with my OS, never done it before.
So can anyone tell me what I need to do, i.e; rooting, flashing, decent custom ROM or at least a quick and pain-free mod...i don't do command line stuff and I 'm not a programmer, so anything in plain English would be helpful.
I don't mind keeping Kitkat looking as it is. I've seen my mate's customised rom note2 purchased from ebay and looks like its designed by a 14 yr old gaming nerd.- yuk.
I am very time poor so won't be able to spend hours and hours tinkering.
Thanks in advance

call record is fine if you use custom rom, most of them have a modded call recorder and work fine.
To be frank, when I was still on stock 4.4.2 unrooted, I can use gmail with no problem.
rooting => find cf-autoroot at android original development note 3.
recovery => there's twrp, philz cwm, and chenglu cwm. I use chenglu cwm. twrp & philz u can find at android original development note 3. whereby chenglu cwm you can find at android development note 3. I personally use chenglu cwm.
custom ROM => you can pick anything u want, and try. no harm trying. If you got not much time, I suggest you just pick 2 or 3 then download all of them first, copy to your sdcard, and try one by one. so, you will no need to wait again next time to download another one. I have 4 custom ROM that I like inside my sdcard. anytime I want to change I just flash them, no need to wait to download again (because each rom is quite huge around 1.5gb+).
To flash rooting, recovery and custom ROM, you have to bear in mind :
do back up your efs (I personally use dr. ketan efs backup after I root my device. this tool need device to be rooted). You can find at android themes & apps note 3
when you want to flash custom rom, remember to do nandroid backup from recovery (in case anything bad happened). Touch wood, so far I don't need to use this backup.
please do a check on the MD5 hash, to be matched with the one provided on the download thread. If not match means you have a bad download, try to download again till the MD5 is matched. Sometimes, due to file size very huge, and if your internet link down, it might cause a bad download. Don't blame on the OP/devs.
The most important before you continue all those process (rooting, recovery and custom rom), READ the thread and FOLLOW the instructions carefully. Most of the time if you follow carefully, nothing harm will happen. And... all the thread are in simple english, no coding words on the OP thread.
cheers.

to get call recording to work, use NC2 FW/rom and use NB2 modem or higher..
try clearing gmail`s data in settings, i have had zero issues with gmail..
for root/recorvery check the guide that is linked in my sig, it has step by step instructions..
as for rom i personally recommend xnote and lean kenrel to everyone..
For the exact same main reason (call recording) I've requested to the seller to solve the problem (my seller was also the carrier provider: orange).
They've changed my phone with a new one with latest 4.3, after a long conversation between orange and samsung tech support, only because my complaints about 4.4.2 implementation on note 3.

Want to flash raw stock on Galaxy S4 GT-I9500

Hi there,
I am fairly new in android and ask for some guidance.
After over 1.5 years of getting irritated by bloatware on my galaxy S4 GT-I9500 I started to look for how to root phone and got rid off plenty of bloatware.
Huge relief. I mean, why the hell do I need tripadvisor, help, health, googlesettings, speech and tens of other completely useless apps (for me). If I need something I want to install it by myself and don't want it to be forced onto phone which I paid from my pocket.
Now, when I last time hard reset my phone, it "kindly" upgraded all the nonsense bloatware too. Grrrrr
I looked on the forums to flash raw android stock, but there is so much info out there, that I get lost.
Could you suggest, where/how should I start. So, I want completely raw android OS, without any bloatware (if possible), on my galaxy S4 GT-I9500.
Thanks

Hi mate
There are some custom roms very close to stock where you can choose what bloatware to install for example Omega rom ...not sure if is that what you meant....
Ok, this is probably what I am looking for, thanks.
I am downloading omega room for S4. I have a follow up Q though. When I read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40243586&postcount=4 guidance to flash this ROM, it just says:
Installation Instructions:
1. Backup your device (nadroid backup, titanium backup, efs backup ... etc)
2. Copy rom to your device
3. Boot to recovery and flash Omega

What is boot to recovery, what program should I use for this? Need some details how to do this. :
I am trying to boot Omega and everything goes completely wrong
when I get this --Install /sdcard ...
I get following
footer is wrong
signature verification is wrong
Any suggestion
You dont know how to boot in recovery...and trying to boot in Omega???? How you did that ? Are you rooted, custom recovery, flasht Omega ???
I think you better read, read and read about it,unlless you want to hard brick your device.

hard, or possibly soft bricked sm-t230 tab 4 7.0. please help!

Hi y'all, i recently within the last month 2 months taken up a very unsual craving for delving deeper into my technology, with that being said. my tab 4 7.0 sm-t230 i Downloaded an app called "lucky patcher" was messing with it, been reading about deoxe(ing) my tablet,it gave me the option to do it for me (usually i enjoy the challange of using a emulated terminal and what not) but every file etc would take too long, and it worked, my daughter ot well over 150 million score on subway surfers etc. i notice my phone sluggish even bein over clocked, I/Os that i did myself, running max cpu and performance i could blabber forever since my 3 kids arnt interested in my newly found hobbie and my husbands a truck driver, i'm getting it out here (i'm sorry but i do need help) so anywyas i decided to kick her into recovery and begin to just manually delete all the dex copied files through TWRP went good till i wetn to reboot after staring at my screen for 3 hours and got threw up on twice from sick babies and i was boot looped. i decide to restore a previous freshly flashed rom/root backup. well they were deleted too. and all i could do was a master re format i think is what i read it was called, and excited to get back and re download everything i notice i now have no OS and no recoveries and TWRP fulll of emptiness. i can play through TWRP i've changed file permissions i've tried everything ive read and tried everything i learned and experianced to fix this issue, and yet stillno idea how to fix this issue..
Now the fun part is my set up. the only pc i have means and access too is my samsung Chromebook, and my tablet, that's it, no phone because my tablet handles everything my little heart can desire.
needless to say, i need some kinda recovery tool kit i can use via my chromebook, that'll allow me to use ADB for chrome (which another question i have is how do i enable my tablets USB debugging if i can't get into the phone?) so toolkit for chromebook for a ADB side load if possible. or some way to do it through my emulated terminal in TWRP,. my minds rushing, i'm confused and my over emotionally stressed female head is killing me without my tablet. (drive to any town where i could use anything but my chrome book. 3.5 hours.
sorry i pray this post doesnt get deleted. I need help because my tablet is my main source of income being in real estate when i'm back in town once a month. never made a page or a forum or anything like this usally google magic does it. but 3 days and countless mind numbing forums i've given in.. please help me! i'll donate pay something idc at this point. -a pissed off irish southen woman on the verge of pms and a meltdown thanks in advance i'll try to reply as fast as humanly possible, ill be up for awhile tonight going through more posts.
0well with a little more tinking around, i think i have found the issue as too why no matter what i do i'm unable to boot a rom/os. mt EXT3 wil not mount my system i'm clueless as to how to fix that at all threw TWRP, anyone have an idea of any kind please? i'm for anything, even if after more attempts and countless hours, i'll record me skipping it across my lake, and we'll all take guesses as too how many skips it'll do. hopefully my dog will fetch it if i throw at the wrong angle. (completely dumb jokes are the only thing keeping me from returning Sain.) we all cant be too serious. please very interested on how to fix this issue tho.
s,
you need to get a custom rom zip onto an sdcard, check development section.
in twrp, flash the rom,
if the rom still doesn't boot, then reboot to twrp again and use the format data option, then reflash rom and try again.
twrp terminal sucks, you can try flashing aromafm https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934547314
this is for the marvell variant, it may work for the msm/qcom variant.
stop using lucky patcher.

Hi, that's where another problem lies within, I have no way of communicating with the phone or being able to do much, considering the only pc/laptop i have access too is my chromebook, and this thing is a ssteaming pile of regurgitated dog bile. if theres one regret in life.. buying this thing.. even dual booted i still can't process the zips or compile them properly, maybe i need to find out how to build a zip file from scratch and comepile the corresponding stuff myself in small hopes it'll work on this chromebook
and yes, never again will I use that. it worked don't get me wrong. but then it decided to deodex my system to oblivion.
s,
hey that rhymed !
your alternative is to use a usb thumbdrive and an otg cable , else nada.

I'm gla you have a sense of humor, thank you hun. looks like i'm tabletless until i go back into town in two weeks ): i suppose till then i will tinker with it some more and unlock the universe, or find a way to convert zips that are made for windows or mac and be able to convert it to be able to be used and transfered unto the phone. Chromium os or chrome now has ADB for chrome as an extension but very iffy, has 3 options to screen record/screenshot and terminal. i was able to use vitural box for about 2 hours and force odin to pretend i was on a widnows enough to orignally root, then it crashed my chromebook. Maybe i've gotta achieve 88 mph first to get this thing to work? lol my chromebook "overclocked" 810 mghz.... maxx.... frequency says it can go to 2100... i think if i even try that i'd recreate the "hydrogen bomb"

Need help with Asus Zenfone 6

This is my first post on XDA and i am in desperate need of help. I own a Asus Zenfone 6. Recently i tried unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP recovery so that i can flash a custom ROM. It went horribly wrong and i bricked my device. I managed to unbrick it and revert to Stock ROM which i also upgraded to LOLIPOP using adb sideload. I also managed to root it and have super user access. The problem is that i cannot install a TWRP or any other recovery. When i try to install a custom recovery i get and error " cannot install unsigned image on secure device" which probably suggests that the boot loader is locked. I ran the commands to unlock the boot loader and they ran successfully but i am not sure if the bootloader is locked or unlocked.
I tried running fastboot oem devices but i get an error " Unknown Oem command".
It was after hours of troubleshooting that i decided that i am OK with stock LOLIPOP rom as long as i have a rooted device. It was after sometime that i noticed that the camera wasn't working. Also the flashlight wasn't working. I uninstalled the updates and flashlight was working. However the camera just gives me a black screen for some time after which it quits with an error message " Camera is used by another application. Please reboot your device and try again". I uninstalled the updates for Camera and reverted to a previous version by also removing the camera application using super user access. However for an older version i get an error " Camera not found". I have also tried installing other camera applications but none seem to work even after making them a part of system. Currently flashlight works but only under an older version , as soon as i update it stops working. I decided to lock the boot loader again as it was just not worth it. However after running the commands and locking the bootloader i still cannot get the camera to work. I tried in safe mode and the camera won't work there either.
When i go to recovery i just have four options, there is no install from internal storage or SD card which suggests i am on stock recovery.
Currently i just want my camera to work. I am OK with the stock ROM and recovery as long as i have a rooted device. I have spent hours researching and nothing seems to work. I am in desperate need of help. Some of the friends suggested to try my luck here. I would be indebted as i dont want to purchase another device just because i screwed my camera. Also when i was under kitkat i ran the SIMI test and was getting an error 1667 and 1668 for both cameras. The test is failing under LOLIPOP as well. I dont think its a hardware issue or maybe i am wrong. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Not even a single reply. DISAPPOINTED!
You need to Lock Bootloader then reflash the rom (wipe all) to fix it. Custom ROMs sometimes cause camera not working cuz there are some devices that have different camera.... Next time, just make sure you Lock Bootloader => Flash Stock recovery => Wipe => Flash Stock ROM

But yeah that sounds like a roller coaster.
Just picked up the Zenfone 6 to see what I could do with it, I'm going to try to flash the RR rom on here.
Just something I noticed though, I did some research myself, and a couple of sites like this one (https://zenfones.gajetzki.com/) say that you should root your original stock before doing anything. Now this wasn't a requirement at all in my experience for all other phones so I'm a bit skeptical. Anyway I thought that may help in some way.
Good luck!

Sorry for the late reply, but I'll try to help as much as I can. First things first, I know there are two different models of the Zenfone 6, the A600CG and the A601CG, but apparently this shouldn't make a difference, but it could have in this case, after all they must have different names for a reason. Also, the support for the Zenfone 6 is pretty terrible in terms of custom roms and the such, so you may even be better off with the stock experience, just root it and you'll have all the functionality you could ever dream of.
If you're still keen for the custom roms and stuff maybe check out this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/general/recovery-twrp-2-8-6-0-asus-zenfone-5-t3136263
Other than that, I guess Google is your friend, but so are we!
I haven't been able to hold onto my Zenfone 6, as it was a friends, so I no longer have it and never got the opportunity to have some fun with it, so I'm just going off my own experience with my HTC One M9, which is probably vastly different, but I suppose the process isn't too different. Nonetheless, I hope all goes well!

Question I've tried so hard and got so far.

Hi, I've been struggling big time to update my device to Android 13. I bought mine when only 1.1.7 hotfix was out and therefore, now that I have unlocked the bootloader (yes, even unlock critical) and rooted the device, I'm not able to install 1.1.8, let alone Android 13. I have already bricked one and managed to get a new one but I don't want to risk it again. I've searched all over Google to a proper guide to update to Android 13, even with sideload, but it gives me an error regarding the payload file, at about 48% of the progress. Tried the *#*#682#*#* method but it stops with error code 20. I have tried flashing the stock boot file but same thing, code 20 from manual update. I'm pretty much desperate at this point and I'm even thinking about unrooting, lock the bootloader again and hopefully update it without an itch, but I really wouldn't want to wipe the device, so, if there's somebody there that could help me through a 100% working process, I'll always be in your debt.

The best part of this whole thing is that you're rooted.
Do a backup with Swift Backup or what ever your backup app you prefer. Wipe it back to stock without locking the bootloader, make sure your sim card is not inserted then do your OTA updates.
As for the second device you bricked, there's a unbrick tool here:
unbrick tool- EDL Flash-Read-Repair Region Change tool
unbrick tool Now available for Nothing Phone1.. Features: Read Firmware (EDL) (locked bootloader) Flash Firmware (EDL) (locked bootloader) backup EFS (EDL) (locked bootloader) Wipe FRP & userdata (EDL) (locked bootloader) Size: 2.7GB Version...
forum.xda-developers.com
Just need to get or make a EDL cable then flash and you'll be back in business.

First bricked device was replaced in RMA. But yeah, rooted, unlocked and yet nothing works. I was thinking about wiping it, even if I don't really want to because it's a pain every time. Man, Android modding when to ****e and I'm leaning more and more towards getting an iPhone and call it a day, maybe with a jailbreak

Swift does their backups well so from wipe to setup depending on how many apps ya got took like 20 mins to do?
Once you get to A13 tho, my god the battery life is amazing. I don't use my NP1 as a daily driver but it sits in my pocket along with my daily OP7Pro and it out lasts it by a mile. Really hyped for the NP2 and what they bring optimization wise.
Or in your case you could carry both and see how you feel about it xD
Oh and it's likely the patched boot image (while rooted) that's causing the update errors. Once you restore the stock boot image you should be able to update without issue.

Might not be stable on first release but yea that's in the rumor pipelines
Yeah, I think I'll wait. A12 is still really nice. Some bugs here and there but perfectly usable and battery is basically infinite.
First of all, to jailbreak the iPhone and set it up correctly with all the needed software that jailbreaking provides nowdays ... is actually harder than it was a few years ago.
Secondly, if you had just read through the full topic containing the Nothing OS repo, you would have found several people with the same problem that u had, who had solved it successfully.
Go back to stock, wipe, and redo the official step-by-step of updating, will work like a charm. if you want to jailbreak. First, read through the posts of others to see if there are any problems that you would like to avoid, and if there are, don't do it.
You are lucky enough to have had your first device replaced by a new one just like that. Updating while rooted was always a problem for Android, and it always varied per device. it was up to the one who is rooting to check the situation regarding his/her specific model
You could try flashing the fastboot ROMs made by @ot_inc (it's not 100% safe for your data so make a backup in any case).
[Restore NothingOS & Magisk] Nothing Phone(1) Fastboot ROM(Full ROM) & boot.img Global v1.1.6

Where is the step by step ? The one that actually works ?
hmm, honestly it may be on somewhere in the first few pages (not the first one) but you can also search the google, now there are several sites quoting options for updating nothing phone.
sorry if i sounded harsh
anyways, if you go back to stock, and update the device from 1.1.7 to 1.5 incl. all hotfix updates, it should go smoothly.
I also said if you want to jailbreak in one moment in my post when i meant to say if you want to root.
Rooting nowdays is easy and hard at the same time. easy to pull off, but hard to understand that now there are several different steps that need to be done to turn the rooted device into a fully functional one. and for many it is not worth it, but for those that are interested, I would just advise reading through all the posts carefully and learning to search efficiently. Not only will you find the answer yourself, thus remembering it more clearly, but you will also be introduced to facts you were unaware of.
good luck, the most important step is to go back to stock succesfully, read the whole nothing os repo thread just to make sure you are not missing something

hmm, honestly it may be on somewhere in the first few pages (not the first one) but you can also search the google, now there are several sites quoting options for updating nothing phone.
sorry if i sounded harsh
anyways, if you go back to stock, and update the device from 1.1.7 to 1.5 incl. all hotfix updates, it should go smoothly.

You said, "Go back to stock, wipe, and redo the official step-by-step of updating, will work like a charm."
