Hello everyone,
This is my first post in the forum and it is also important for me to say that I am not a radio or Android expert by any means, I will try to be as clear as possible, and I will try very hard to understand your answers. If you can be more detailed it might be helpful.
I want to buy a Android head unit and after looking at several brands I think I want to go with ATOTO A6 PF A6G2A7PF, made the decision based on price, seller in USA, advertised features and reviews I found on line. I would really apritiate any help with the following items I have not been able to find for this or any other Android Head Unit:
1) Is there a better unit for around the same price?2) is there a website or something where I can buy the radio harness for my specific car?3) Do I need to buy something to be able to us the Bose factory amp's, the atoto comes with some line to converters not sure if that would work?4) How can I retain Steering wheel controls? I have been told for my car it is too hard as they are "standard resistive button signal" and other said "it was by impedance"5) can I add a usb hub or splitter to connect two things to one USB port on the unit?6) I have read a lot about CanBus integration how do I know if my car can do this?I will install this in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder LE that still has the stock Bose premium Audio system and I want to keep the amp's and speakers as is for now. suv Las has a second row screen and a VCR in the cargo space that is connected to the Bose unit. any Ideas was can be done with this or upgraded too.
Thank you

So I want to replace the factory double din head unit on my 09 Silverado. It has the bose premium stereo. Problem is I have no idea where to start with these head units. So many options. Joying seems to be the most popular from what I can tell but I don't see anything on the website that says it will work with my truck.
I want Google Music to work
I want factory controls to work
I'd like waze/maps
I want a back up camera.
So where to start??
I got mine on aliexpress. Granted it's for VW, it was plug and play with all controls and even fitted to my dash opening. Make sure you check on their mobile app. Mine was 56% off if ordered that way.

Thanks. So far the GA5180F is the only model i can fine that i believe will work for me
Looks like this one will work:
http://www.roadnavi.com/product/m021-gmc-chevrolet-media-satnav-08-13/
email RoadNavi, their support is pretty great, they have been super helpful for me.
maybe this one from In-Dash.net:
http://www.in-dash.net/buy_en/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=12&product_id=45
but In-Dash is pretty new, needs a lot of tweaking based on their thread here, but it has much better hardware specs
Your first step is to google a standard double din stereo install for your specific Silverado and get the parts list for the dash kit and the wiring harness. Depending on the type of factory stereo you have, you may need a special harness to take care of all the Onstar stuff. See if there are adapters out there that you can reuse your existing backup camera or if you need to go completely aftermarket for the backup camera. I'm sure there is a Silverado specific forum out there that has a step by step write up on how to install a stereo into your Silverado.
Once you're comfortable knowing how to take apart your dash for a basic double din stereo install will take for your car, pick out the dash kit and wiring harness you need.
Then from there, choose any of the universal double din android head units you want. They're mostly the same and right now you can choose between the 4.4.4 and 5.1.1 models. The newer 5.1.1 has a few more built in features like dimming and whatnot that the older 4.4.4 units don't have. Outside of that, the only main difference between a lot of these android head units is which physical buttons you want on the front.
Once installed, tether your phone to the head unit and then configure it like you would any other android device.
Hi everyone, I’m new to this forum. I know a bit about Volvo (the older ones!), and Volvo head units, but not about Chinese Android head units.
I’m considering replacing the aging head unit of my (also aging!) 2002 Volvo V70. The head unit is a simple HU 603, so no Dolby, center speaker or extra amplifier. I’m looking at Xtrons TA702P (quad core) or TB706PL (octa core). I prefer a 7 inch touch screen, no knobs, no DVD. But navi should be good, as would radio. Music I can play through usb. And my Elephone S7 (Android 7.1) phone should mirror on the unit if possible.
Other functions like back up camera or steering wheel control are not important to me.
I know how to take the HU 603 out. I know I need an adapter harness to connect with the new unit. And a fascia adapter. All that is available.
My questions:
Xtrons has many car/model specific head units (not for Volvo). They have Canbus decoders supplied with the unit. Not so for the TA702P or the TB706PL. Will that give problems? (The answer from the ebay seller is somewhat useless: ‘Both the TB706PL and the TL702P does not come with the canbus so that you just ignore it.’) Anyone has experience with this?
How are user experiences with these modern Xtrons units? I know, ‘you get what you pay for’, I know that. But still, worth the money?
Units from Kenwood or Pioneer are other options, but again, is it worth it?
Thanks!
Hi there
I own and drive a V70 from 2006. I have replaced the original HU with a SONY 2 DIN unit (XAV-V630BT). This unit has great sound. I also swapped the speakers to JBL. It is totally worth it.
I have a CANbus to resistor unit. This makes it possible to use the steering wheel buttons.
Right now i am testing a Android HU. Unfortunately i have bought the wrong one. The unit is full of bad design choices. The sound integration in the unit is bad. I think that radio, BLUETOOTH and AUX sound runs directly to the sound processor. This means that when the Android unit plays a sound, the sound from the other units are turned off. In my opinion the other source should just fade a little.

Hi there
As said, I don't need steering wheel controls, my steering wheel doesn't even have the buttons. Must have been a cheapskate first owner!
Does this mean the Canbus only affects steering wheel control? So ignoring Canbus (no resistor as in your case), will give no problems?
And yes, by now I've found out Android units may not have the best sound quality. Or radio reception.

Hi!
I'm new here and am wondering if someone could help me out.
I got an Android headunit through a local workshop. I thought it'd be an upgrade, and in some respects it is, but it's been giving me endless problems. I've also eventually come to the realisation that the mechanic is pretty clueless about troubleshooting software issues (I suppose he's more of an installer) so I'm pretty much on my own here. He's talking to his supplier but has been established these Chinese suppliers aren't usually helpful.
There are 2 things which I can't figure out:
1. On day 1, the bluetooth worked. I could pair my iPhone with the headunit through the unit's stock "bluetooth/dialer" app. But the unit wouldn't power back on after it was installed the first time. Mechanic told me the the unit came shipped with a wire switched around and once he corrected that problem, the headunit has been working pretty reliably. Bluetooth stopped working after this, however. I've done a factory reset, tried the RST button upfront but to no avail.
I've go to settings and searched for "bluetooth" (yes, noted that it's hidden on these units!) and made sure it's switched on. Occasionally, I see my phone's name appear on the "settings" page, but I can't pair it with the unit. It remains stuck on "pairing." It still searches endlessly in the bluetooth/dialer app.
Is there anything else I should look into?
2. Can the OS and firmware be upgraded on my unit? I unfortunately, have no idea what brand/model the headunit is. My car's pretty rare in my country (Renault Clio 2015) and the headunits on Aliexpress were for a lower-end version with different connectors. The workshop got a unit for my model through its Chinese contacts, but it came in a non-descript box. Here's the info I've gotten from the Settings screen:
Processor type: QuadCore-T3
Android Version: 7.1.1
MCU version: T5.3.21-63-9B1-C06101-180904
System version: V8.3.2_20180919.193359_ZH5-N
I'll be going through the forum to learn as much about Android headunits but would appreciate any help in the mean time.
Thanks!
Spent some time looking around the forums. Thought I'd log what I've discovered for others who may be searching for similar info.
To recap, I have an Android head unit with no branding. Initially, all I had was the info from the "about device" screen, which provided a bunch of numbers.
I got more information by downloading a hardware info app. There are a few but they generally work the same by providing you with more hardware info (ie. clues).
Discovered I have an Allwinner T3 P3 system. I'm sure I'm lumping several things together but it was enough info to search the forum with.
Discovered this wonderful thread which is generally about Android units based on the above chipset.
Within that thread I came across this one which was extremely helpful. It details how there are 3 types of Allwinner T3 P3 systems which are all different as far as firmware is concerned. Links to their respective firmware are provided, as well as some info on how to reset/recover the system. Glad I found this as I have a better idea how these things work, and more importantly, it cautions against what NOT to do (and risk bricking your headunit).
The the post also links a Russian site that has even more info on my unit from the Allwinner T3 P3 family. Will explore this next (thanks Google translate!).
Will also try to do a factory recover to see if I can fix the bluetooth problem. It worked on Day 1 so at the very least I know the hardware works. That said, who knows if the hardware was fried when the wires were switched around.
Solved the bluetooth problem. Answer was in the Russian thread posted above!
Thank you, just got a unit with same MCU version and your post has helped me identify this thing!
Hi Ultimax,
I have a small question. I have the same car as you ( a 2015 clio 4) and I'm wondering about the Canbus configuration to use to get the steering wheel boutons to work? Looked everywhere and nothing on this topic so I'm really waiting for your directions..

Hey!
Glad to help!
What headunit comes installed in your Clio 4? Is it a R-Link TomTom unit (without the USB port next to the screen) or the more basic MediaNav (with the USB port next to the screen)?
If it's the MediaNav headunit, you're in luck. There are quite a few aftermarket Android headunits which are supposedly plug and play, including steering wheel buttons. At least that's what's claimed. I know Pioneer Europe has a headunit which is a 1 for 1 replacement for the stock unit. It even comes with a new plastic front so it fits perfectly and a new wiring harness.
https://www.pioneer-car.eu/eur/products/sph-evo62dab-clio
If it's the R-Link TomTom unit, then I'm afraid you're out of luck. This is the version of Clio 4 I have unfortunately. I've searched high and low on the internet for a suitable wiring harness+CANBUS which would allow me to use the factory steering wheel buttons but couldn't find any. The closest I came was one I got from China through a local installer, but only the volume and channel up/down buttons worked. The Android headunit itself which came with the CANBUS was sh!t and I was tempted to go back to the factory unit. Only thing keeping me from doing so was I'd already spent too much time and money getting it to work somewhat.
However, I recently installed a new Pioneer headunit. My local installer managed to replace the Android unit with it. He couldn't get the steering buttons to work though. He said he'd have to custom program one which would be pretty costly. So, I've given up on using the factory steering wheel buttons.
A cheap workaround is to use an aftermarket steering wheel control kit. You attach new controls to your steering wheel (either clipped, glued or recessed into new holes drilled into your steering wheel). The controls are powered by a long-life battery. The control unit is paired wirelessly with a receiver which you connect to the your headunit via the KEY1/KEY2 (Pioneer calls them Input 1 and 2), ground and ACC wires. Most headunits have these wires.
This is the option I'm going for. My kit hasn't arrived yet but I'm optimistic it'll work.
FYI, this is the one I bought:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000584816400.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.317a4c4dfTx6k3
There are other designs too. Just search the site for "universal steering wheel control radio"
Hope this helps!
Hey guys. I need some serius help with picking out the correct Android head unit upgrade for my 2000 Suburban. Currently it uses a stock radio, heres a picture:
https://imgshare.io/image/din.srTA8
So, obviously I want to upgrade, been looking around and I'm thinking of buying the Atoto A6Pro. However, my OEM player has two connectors back, show'n in these pictures:
https://imgshare.io/image/srHpe
https://imgshare.io/image/srcuw
I am not sure if one of them is for the Onstar since my car does not have steering wheel controls.
I am in need of help of what harness I need, and what mounting bracket do I need to buy to fit whatever. Not many with Suburbans making guides. I would really appreciate help guys
What I want out of the unit is to play spotify, be able to use radio ofc, and since I want a Android head unit, I would like the option to download stuff from Play Store.
Hi all! I recently purchased a Chinese imported Android 11 GT6 aftermarket head unit for my 2010 Chevy Camaro. It's a Tesla style unit that fits perfectly into my car system. It connects up to all of my a/c controls, steering wheel controls, speakers, the old gauges that came with the car, and basically everything else the original stereo unit connected to. It also offers wifi, 4G internet, GPS, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a host of other features.
I have attempted to speak with the seller of this unit, but I feel there may be a language barrier and at best, he's only a seller and doesn't have technical knowledge about the software. In the attached photos, I am wanting to update the UI (user interface) to one that I am seeing in other head units like the one I have purchased. I know this is possible, but am not sure how to achieve this result. The first attached photo is what mine currently looks like. The second photo is the UI I am wanting to upgrade to. I am also included the technical specs screenshot from my unit, as this may help. Perhaps someone here in the forums has information as to how to make this upgrade, or who I could contact to learn more about doing this.
This is my first post, and I thank you so much for any help you guys can provide.
