Hi,
I have a weird Issue I have an MT8667 based android head unit that after starting the car and it wakes up from sleep exactly after 2.5 mins it will turn off mobile data and turn it back on. It does this every time.
If I disable sleep mode and it does a full boot when car starts this issue doesn't happen so its somehow related to waking up from sleep.
The problem this is causing it that waze drops internet connection when this mobile data toggle happens and I have to restart waze to get the connection back.
Any ideas on how to prevent this toggle from happening?
Thanks.

Hi there,
With my BlueAngel I could leave the WiFi on all night as when the phone was switched off it did not eat up the battery - when the phone was switched on it would spend a couple of seconds reconnecting to the wireless point.
The Universal seems to behave in the same way, yet it eats up all the battery overnight even when I have switched the phone off and it is not connected to the WiFi access point.
Is there some setting or registry key I can alter to fix this?
Cheers,
Quilty
@Qulity, if you don't close PIE I have found the battery can be drained. I assume overnight you are using Flight Mode.
Are you closing the flip and presuming that the device gets turned off or have you actually set your device to turn off after a fixed period of inactivity in the power settings?
If it is the former, then the device actually does not turn off if there is any activity in the background like active GPRS or WiFi etc. A simple solution to this would be to press the hard-ware on/off button once you are done irrespective of whether wfi is active or not in the background.
Try it out and post your results here.
My device is set to turn off after 2 mins on battery power, but I made a special point of turning it off with the hardware button before testing last night. As I said before my BlueAngel never behaved like this.
my jasjar was turned off yesterday, and every 5min i heard sound for new wifi network!! same problem, i solved it with turnig wifi off!! any other solutions?
Hi!
Afetr installing some SW like Pocket weather, or Ilauncher 3.0.01, I'm experiencing wifi disconnections when I turn the display light off. When I turn it on pushing the button on the side, the wifi connection just reconnect.
I tried an hard reset and everything is fine. But after reinstalling those sw the problem comes back.
What should I do?

Hmmm.... I thought this was normal behaviour to save battery power. Why would you want WiFi to stay connected if your device is in suspend mode?
BTW hitting the power button puts the device into a suspend mode (not just turn off the back light), in this state the OS is almost non functional, to save power. I thought the WiFi disconnecting was normal and expected behaviour. As you say it auto reconnects on wake up and is ready to go again.
My WiFi has ever worked this way. I don't think this is a malfunction
my wifi connection always drops after few minutes and then it tries to authenticate again. this happens when i left the phone idle for <3 mins or so and sometimes less. when it tries to aunthenticates back, it takes a longer time than just simply turning off and turning on the wifi back again to get connected.
is this an error or its just the way the phone is? i'd like to keep my wifi connected during some heavy downloads and be able to leave the phone lying somewhere while its downloading..
explainations and help needed..
you not using any power manager apps that turn of the wireless after the screen switches off when left idle ?
And what about wifi sleep policy? But there is problem for me too. I turn it off, but when i disable wifi, and turn it on again, wifi sleep policy settings are again at 15minutes.

i'm using Advanced task killer and Android booster on my phone to kill running apps. however, i did not used them to manage my power consumption. i have not done any settings regarding wifi connectivity on both those apps. But could both these apps be responsible?

my wifi sleep policy setting is set to Never by default. Could it be my router whose causing this issue?
So, after no problems for 3 months, my stock AT&T S4 has suddenly started with some odd behavior where wifi is unresponsive for 30 to 60 seconds immediately after every time I wake it up. Then wifi works normally.
The wifi connection icon stays on during this, and I see it trying to upload and download.
When the phone is asleep, it syncs appropriately over Wifi and I get all of my notifications.
This happens on all wifi connections. 3G/4G is unaffected.
I have wifi sleep disabled in the wifi Advanced menu.
Any guesses as to what might be causing this?
Hey everyone, I've been looking for a solution for this problem since I got the phone and I can't find an answer anywhere. When I am connected to my WiFi at home, and I turn the screen off, about 30 seconds later my wifi and data shut off. I have "keep wifi on when screen is off" set to on. I disabled switch to network with weak WiFi signal. I have factory reset my phone about 5 times and did a warranty clam.
Mine does the same. It just has a very poor wifi antenna I guess.
my LG-V20 does this same thing sometimes its very frustrating.
Settings>battery and power saving>scroll down to "wifi" and move the switch to the right (turn on ignore savings settings) This will tell Android to ignore power saving on wifi and let it operate normally.
