Nope. You can never flash any firmware with a lower bootloader than what you currently have

Right. Except we cannot reflash because there because no connection can be established (obviously). How do you flash through bootloader? Same way?

Yes, put device into bootloader, when usb shows up at the bottom of the screen flash as normal. And as was suggested above, a search would have shown you that the problem is not the rom, because the next one you flash is likely to do exactly the same (HINT: Radio)

Thanks. I figured it was the radio.
Got it now. The radio seems fine with the new rom. Thanks!

I bought a x10 which was locked on orange. i unlocked it and debranded to a generic firmware. Every sim works in the phone except for o2 sims. I tried emailing them to see what the problem was and they are saying it's my phone. I've tried a few o2 sims same problem. Tried the sims in other phones and they've worked. It is something to do with the phone not registering on the network. Could this be due to me debranding in which case does anyone have access to orange firmware files. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Hi
I have seen many of these threads before but non for the UK and on 3 network. I have a 2GB Hotspot limit but unlimited data. How can I bypass the hotspot limit? Its on Stock ROM.
Thanks
Just change the stock 3 to a generic one like I did voila no more limits.

Can you explain how? Much appreciated
Look for a generic UK rom (can be found in firmware thread) open up odin and flash it and since the command to send home info to 3 is no longer there they have no reliable way to detect your tethering I use about 20gb a month tethering and according to 3 I've used none

So you're saying -
Flash a standard NON branded rom. then Three cant detect the tethering.
But flashing roms at all will trip KNOX to 0x1?
Nope not if it's an official one ie from Samsung

Reflashed and now it reboots after Acore has stopped working. Help?
Hi,
I already asked this question in context of another ROM but got no helpful reply.
Now I flashed completely fresh newest stock L720VPUGPI2_L720SPTGPI2_SPR and I still have this prompt.
This was tested on two different carriers, but this screen is the same. Carrier support says it's exclusively phone issue, however I didn't find any SIM-related option in settings.
How to suppress this screen?
what are you trying to do? use it on another carrier? or is it a sprint sim in the phone?

This prompt appears on any (re)boot. I do nothing special.
I've never used Sprint SIM, as I am not in US.
oh, its because its a sprint phone.
You should be able to remove it in this screen. I have a G900P (S5) and its heavily rooted and modified, but should he the same process

Captain Obvious, is it you?
On some of the previous ROMs (AFAIR rooted one) I didn't experience such thing, so I am wondering maybe smb knows necessary setting to disable it.

im sorry, i wasnt trying to be captain obvious stock ROMs have to have that option in it somewhere, im not sure where tho. But the simlock is something that stock ROMs usually have built in. Are you averse to trying a non-stock ROM? Maybe a global ROM?

before we go down that path, is your bootloader unlocked? is TWRP installed? Are you rooted? what is the model of your S4? What baseband are you on?

Youd be surprised... I usually live in the G900P forum, and trust me, youll see all kinds of SMH stuff.
If you have TWRP, your bootloader is ususally unlocked as it required an unlocked bootloader. Locked ones are relegated to things like safestrap. You can flash a ROM made for the international version of your phone, just dont Odin flash something not made specifically for your phone. Have you ever tried a CM11 ROM?

Not on this device. CM11 seems obsolete for me, as it is KitKat-based. Moreover it is dead now and development is halted, so installing it seems not reasonable to me.
Cm doesn't have updates anymore, but its still quite viable
i actually meant CM 13 tho

Just for info: after I switched off SIM lock prompt on Exodus ROM, it disappeared on all ROMs. Even the most odious Sprint stocks. So, bless to you, Exodus
It seems that this setting is hidden somewhere in hardware engineer menu, and unfortunately ROM devs don't bother revealing it to the user via GUI.

I can provide you an unlocked bootloader for G930A, so then u will be able to root and install custom rom. Root works perfect for me.
