OPPO posted a video about the backside surface of Find X5 Pro running through a scratch test.
I already compared before in a post the surface between OPPO Find X5 Pro vs. Samsung S22 Ultra - or Ceramic vs. Glass. As I previously covered, the Find X5 Pro is made of nano-microcrystalline, that is hot-forged at 1,000-degrees Celsius, which results in a fingerprint-resistant texture while making it twice as strong as glass.
Hardness Comparison on Vickers Hardness Scale:
- Ceramic 1200-13000 HV
- Glass, 600-630 HV
I for myself think that the ceramic surface is currently still underrated and hasn't received a lot of attention yet, but I believe it's one of these features that brings Find X5 Pro on top of the currently available flagships across manufacturers. Note: Would be great to see it on the black surface as well, if anyone could cover that.

Come on Asus, could you possibly make this thing more uncomfortable to hold. On top of this sharp aluminum edging attempting to undigit my hands, there are no cases or simple silicone cases to cover those sharp sides.
The Acer being heavier is getting more tempting due to the smooth comfortable design.
Has anyone see any other cases than the Asus branded case? It seems accessories are all hiding in the wings.

Got my Note 8 about 4 days ago, 2 days ago i took it into the AT&T store to get a case and glass screen protector,
while she was putting the screen protector on she laid the phone on the plastic table by the time she was done had micro scratches on the very bottom and one across from edge. was pissed but nothing really i could do.
P.S. She didn't even get the screen protector on correctly. so be careful
The black frame on the Honor 8 felt much nicer compared to the note 8. It feels plasticy

What does that have to do with the device aesthetics? Besides the scratches you described, do you like the look and design of the phone? Yes or no?
I love the curved design and how nicely it sits in the hand. Bear in mind, I'm coming from a Note 3 which I've been using for 4 years. The materials used, especially the glass back, make this feel every bit the premium phone I was expecting.
My GF is not a fan of big phones but even she was surprised at how comfortable it was in the hand. It's actually slimmer in width than my Note 3 and the curved back is much nicer to hold than the plastic back on the Note 3.
Note 8 still has huge bezels and very inconvenient ugly curved display !!

huh? Note 8 doesn't have deep curves like S8/+
Loved my Sony Xperia, both for its hardware, but also aesthetically.
I like square, flat phones. The Xperia had that for me.
I also love the build quality of Apple's phone line, and found their design change starting with the 6 to feel very nice in the hand when I checked them out.
When it came time for a new phone, the S8+ combined the two designs (Xperia and Apple later models) into what I originally felt to be the perfect feel and look. But I started to grow tired of the super- curved edges (I'm new to Sammy)... screen that can't be used, or covered very well with a glass protector (a must for my dirty hands). Soon after, I started realizing that i really wasn't digging the rounded corners that much, either!
It took me two months, but I started really regretting buying the damned thing! LOL!
So I got the Note 8, with a few more features, and slightly less curved edges and more squared corners, and it's just an as absolutely perfect fit for me.
Not ONE single gripe about it. This is a down right beautiful phone IMO.

Yep, Samsung copied the square shape of the Sony for their N8.

fine fit and prevents squinting
I've has my Note 8 for a week and a bit. I think it feels pretty good naked and with my Spigen Tough Armor case. The device feels good in the hand.

It's a good looking phone, nice and hefty, beautiful fit and finish. From the back it's gorgeous. Unfortunately the front is ruined by one of the worst factory fitted screen protectors I've ever come across. After 5 minutes of use it's so covered in smears you can barely see the screen properly. Haven't made a final decision on whether or not I'm keeping it yet but if I do the screen protector is definitely coming off.
It really is such a Gorgeous Device, especially the Twilight model, which i believe to be the nicest of the 3 options in colour, and its tied between Black and Midnight blue, they both look great, but nowhere near as good as Twilight imo.
The Notch is not distracting in all honesty, this is probably helped because it is quite a small notch and slim as well. its like the Moto360 Gen 1's Bottom Bar, it just kinda dissapeared after a while and only appears if you are consciously looking for it on the device.
Though the Preinstalled Screen Protecter is nice, it is more of a fingerprint magnet than the back is tbh.

Yeah the original screen protector is complete garbage. I bought an EasyUlt one because it has a better fitment and a black outline wich makes it look alot better. Its tempered glass so its much better than the stock one for the fingerprints.
The best looking device, on par with the red iPhone, the red One Plus 6 and perhaps the Essential phone. In fact, it is more unique than all of them, in twilight. Perfect size too. A little smaller would have been even better. But the aspect ratio allows for a narrower grip than other devices with the same diagonal display size or smaller. Very premium look with the glossy back and the metal trim all round the phone.
The P20 Pro is indefinably a good looking phone. I have the white version and it looks really nice.

What kind of gorilla glass it uses on the front and back ?
the oleophobic coating on p30 pro seems to be much batter than on Samsung phones, a LOT less smudges and fingerprints, but then it will depend on how long the coat will last, as it seems Samsung went with a solution that is less effective but lasts a long time, while other phones seem to "run out" after 2-3 months and the coating is worn off.
Overall quality feel is about the same for p30p and my s9+ and note9, I only had s10 in my hands for couple of minutes to compare the latest. Screen curvature is better on on p30p in regard of eye comfort, Samsung narrowed the edges in S9/N9/S10 too much and it getsin the way often, when reading or typing on larger sized gboard keyboard I don't really notice the screen is curved on p30p, but on the other hand samsung has much better handle on the random unwanted touches on the edges when you hold the phone. But that is software related..
I like buttons on Samsung phones better, they are smoother and easier to tuch, too firm on my huawei, and kinda clicky/loud, some people like that, I don't.
Display on huawei has light discoloration on the edges, noticeable only in bright/white colors, but it is still better than not being able to read first and last words on full screen text article when on Samsung.
What is kinda weird for me is that knocking on the display side by side note9 - p30p, the huawei sounds kinda hollow, like the cheap ipad 2017/2018 or old ipad models without laminated screens, yet when I compare the displays up close the display on huawei seems to be even "closer" to you than samsung, thinner glass probably. I think huawei is not using gorilla glass 6 as samsung does on s10, otherwise they would have advertise it as such. 3 of my friends have mate 20/pro, they all complain about horrible micro-scratches on display, but when I inspected it it was the same as on my note 9 - seems to be scrathes on the oleophobic coating only, as with a good clean the display does not show any scratches even on direct sunlight.
Generally, the recent p/mate phones feel as good as any other premium flagship phone. And their selection of back panel colors is the best at the moment, although I was only able to pick the black - breathing crystal was available for 256gb model but I don't need that much storage and wear cases/skins anyway, but if I had my hands on one of the gradient colors, I would probably just wear transparent case on it, it really looks great.
Feels solid and what you'd expect from a premium flagship.
But my God is this device slippery. It was hard to hold as I was scared of it slipping from my hands. And one time the phone just slipped right out of my pocket onto a hard floor. Took it like a champion and didn't have a mark on it.
I'd advise getting a case simply because it's easier to hold

Don't use a wet wipe to clean your phone and the coating will last you much longer. I used the P20 Pro for almost 7 months, and the coating didn't wore off one bit. Keep anything that has alcohol in it as far as you can from your phone.

I dont think they use gorillaa glass
Screen is super sensitive. Not a single drop not a single mishap and i got a scratch on the screen the size of a fingernail. Quite disappointed on that since i was expecting my screen protector toarrive from day to day to avoid that and the phone is 2 weeks old. Ill probably use the vip service if its covered to change screen
I plan to use jet seal on top of the coating. That prevents scratches and further fingerprinting. I want to keep that breathing crystal beautiful for ages
Can anyone give me a working comparison between Ceramic and Glass backs for S10+
Is the ceramic stronger, lighter/heavier.
What if anything is the advantage?
Thanks
