Used EM List to enable 3rd Party Apps, Now no apps install

I did the *#*#307#*#* enabled 3rd party apps verified that they would install and all was working as described.
Now market apps will not update, and I cannot download new apps. It gives me a "Download was Unsuccessful, please try again" notification.
I did the *#*#308#*#* originally afterward, and decided to do the 307 prompt to turn app security back off. But still unsuccessful downloads and updates.
Anybody have any ideas?

Here was the suggestion from another poster that worked for me:
What worked for me in the end - uninstalling the market updates (NOT the updater) - from options > applications ... I've lost options like automatic updates and "update all" but at least i can now update *at* all and install apps.
I wonder when does Market get "upgraded" again...
I did this, uninstalled the market update, and it worked great.

I did a factory reset to solve my issue.

no need to hard-reset.
make sure sd-card is not attached to a pc.
re-login to google talk.
in options -> applications delete cache and uninstall updates.
reboot device
make sure mobile internet is on
login to marketplace and everything should work again.

How do I update an app that is not on the Market?

I think you're referring to a push-notification-type update. You should look into the process that Koush's clockwork mod uses for ROM updates.

You could have the application check a website for updates periodically, then if there is an update download the .apk and then prompt the user to install it.

Might want to talk to your Networking group; they usually have a way to automatically update network computers with new software (e.g. virus scanner updates, Windows updates etc.) Maybe they could help with an automated script for the apk install.

How to get rid of pre-installed Evernote?

Can't disable Evernote. Any way to get rid of this app without root? I'm tired of being asked for updates through the Play store.

This may come 2 years late, but I just found a way to disable evernote on N4 . It cannot be done from settining, but if you drag the icon from app drawer to top, it'll allow you to uninstall the update and disable evernote.
PS: non rooted Note4 (6.0.1)

I think I actually installed it, and there was no way to uninstall it. Some how these A-holes at evernote got their app to register as a system program. Evernotes forum has their "gurus" literally laughing at us telling us to use it, that it's the only recourse. So after hours of research I found out it's actually simple to remove it and other unwanted bloatware without root access. All you need to do is download free android development tools(adb) and follow the instructions on the link I am providing and you can take anything off your phone or tab within minutes. https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/

If you have root,with Magisk manager you can download modules Debloater and with this in Terminal you can uninstall every possible app. I even uninstall stock Message and install Messages from Resurrection remix..

Cannot download December update

Hey guys,
I have a problem, my device wont download December update.
I tried both wifi and cellular but still cannot download it
It shows an error "Couldn't download"
What should I do?

Which december update? The one on the 7th, or the one dated the 19th?
If it's the 7th, you can try to use miflash to flash the whole Dec 7th rom (keep user data).
Then you can try to update to the other one from the 19th.
As to why you are receiving those messages, i'm not sure. I never received any messages about not being able to download.

if you face couldn't download error you should uninstall google play services updates but for doing that you should disable find my device in security-->device administrators first.and using a vpn i think would be necessary.after update you can enable find my device again and update google play services

This worked well for me. Finally, 1 week after getting update notification I was able to download the update and install it.

Thanks! after trying all the solutions I found on internet, this one worked for me,
I'm from Iran, and I think this can be related to the update failure, because when I use vpn, I can download now, but without using a vpn, I still can't download it.

I had to restart device after these step to be able to download the update thanks.

I encountered same problem with my Mi A1. Now the Android build number is N2G47H.7.11.18, System update would be failed with "Couldn't download". But any one can teach me how to uninstall google play services updates, and update again google play services? I searched on Internet, didn't get a clue. Thanks a lot!

I can download. But, can't install it. I'm trying to download January patch.

I have 2 Smart TV box in my house, the one cannot start TV app from my cable provider. App is EON from SBB.
On another device I don't have any problems. The error is:
EON TV cant be used on this device.
This may be because your device is rooted, has a customer ROM, or somehow altered.
App stop to work 5 days before and whole device is used only for that app. I did not change anything on smart box. I try memory clear, reinstall of app, put Android on factory default and try to install again app, the issue is same.
Again, another smart box work perfect and same app on my phone without any problem.
What can be problem?

ok, just got info from provider that app will not work on rooted devices anymore.
Question now is, does return on factory default settings and reset put device back rooted? It should, right?
I will run root checker today to see.

Hi, i edited the apk file so it wont detect root. Try to install it and check.

Yes it works. Looks like your app is for EON services where activation code is required. For my country (North Macedonia) entering code for activation do not work. It work as login user/password when download this app from google store.
Is it possible to "hack" existing apk of EON TV from google store in order to avoid "this device is not supported" message ?
