Stable ROM - Redmi 7A Questions & Answers

Good evening, guys.
I’m looking for an stable ROM for my Redmi 7A. Doesn’t matter if it’s outdated. The only important things are stability battery life. MIUI keeps crashing, rebooting, freezing and it’s kind of annoying. Battery life is fine and made a CPU stress test to see if this issues were caused because of degrading, but everything it’s okay.
Already tried formatting and reinstalling original MIUI, but the stability only lasts one month. I need it to be fully root-less too.
If no ROMs are available for this manner (doesn’t matter if it’s MIUI-based or AOSP), I’m open to hear other solutions to this problem.
Thank you in advance,
Have a great day.
PD: phone information
-MIUI Global 12.0.2 Stable (QCMEUOR)
-Android 10
-Security Patch from 2021-06-01
-Model M1903C3EG

I found that one very fast and stable:

#GengKapak - Browse /ROM/mi439/ArrowOS/12 at SourceForge.net
sourceforge.net

Check Redmi 7A Telegram group. There we have much more ROMs then here. Also LinageOS 18.1 is very stable and bugless so here is the link:

wow. NIce to see so many ROMs from you for MI3. Thanks a lot. shall try)
Excellent rom. No bugs. GPS works, camera works like in MIUI, including HDR.
Xpose works well. Does not have music apk. Not many bells&whistles, but very crisp and fast.
Too early for the battery, but looks OK.

Short review
First of all thanks to @aniket.lamba and Spike Lab Team for the wonderful ROM :highfive:
Here is the short review:
1. First things first, it is very stable... no issues at all.
2. All the sensors and basic stuffs are working as they should. Compass, GPS, accelerometer, etc, all fine.
3. It is quite smooth but I felt it could be little more smoother though. So to check, I installed Kernel Adiutor and found the default I/O is set to Deadline. Played around with all the available I/O options. Found the sweet spot with Noop. After changing it to Noop it feels very smooth. SIO is very near to it as well.
4. It seems to me a pure AOSP ROM, no bells and whistles... So people who are looking for tons of customizations may look elsewhere (you can use xposed though but I haven't used it yet so won't comment)... But for a person like me stability has a higher priority than customization, so I am all good here
5. NO HEATING ISSUES at all like in CM based ROMs. I never thought that I would add this point but the recent heating issues what I was faced in CM based ROMs was just too much (I used to feel my phone may explode anytime). The phone always stays cool with this ROM whether you play games, use apps or multitask.
** Downloaded and flashed the mini gapps from official Spike Lab website and you know what it is only 46.3MB in size :good: **
**Not attaching any SS as it is like any pure AOSP ROM. You may use CM themes though. **
Aniket, I have a query:
I have accidentally enabled 3 finger swipe to take screenshot. I want to disable it but couldn't find the setting for it. Could you please guide me...
Thanks

@aniket.lamba Bro, today I faced the No SIM issue once when I rebooted my Mi3. Just got curious and checked the metallium devices github and found that the commit which audahadi did (which actually solved the No SIM bug) is not present in the rooque's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory from which metallium devices's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory is forked.
So, I flashed the nosimfix zip and all is fine now. But it will be great if you pick that commit from audahadi's proprietary_vendor_xiaomi directory and apply in metallium devices
Thanks for all your efforts :good:

SMIUI - Miui rom, post customization

Hi all,
I'm looking for a way to remove most of all Miui apps to avoid any security leaks/data leaks from my device..
Because it's a non-open source OS and communicate a LOT with chinese IP I'll be happy if someone can give me an hint.
Thanks !
Install an AOSP ROM...
~ Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Prime ~
That's an idea but I miss how to add the cyanogen privacy manager on it, there is a also a lot of battery life (CM12.1) or mediaserver (4.4) issues

[ROM][7.1.1][LINEAGE] KryoRemix-Nougat[OPTIMIZED][SMOOTH][MORE!]

I can't help , but exclaim what a journey it has been ! It all started , when I was bent on rooting my Note 2 , and installing the S5 based ROM by team electron , at a time when TouchWiz was at its peak and I was 14 . I vividly remember that moment when it booted up , and I was really relieved ! I then went on to install RR , and was mesmerized by the smoothness and customizability . I thought to myself I will never be able to build a ROM from source like the devs do . But , when I got the Oneplus One a year and a half later , I had tried dozens of ROMs , based on CM , AOSP , and TW . I wanted to myself make a ROM from source , but didn't find any good guides , so I started trying to port ROMs as the guides were better for porting back then . Out of many failed ports , one came out to be real good , when I tried to port Skydragon ROM , and added lots of stuff from team Utopia's HTC app ports . I released the ROM in the start of 2016 , and frequently updated it , until I got busy with my studies . It was almost the start of April , when my 10th std. board exams were done away with , and I was bent on building ROMs from source . Then I saw @Aaahh 's post on the OnePlus forums , in which he had helped someone with ROM building . @Aaahh and @jgcaap were my favorite developers , and to learn development from someone like @Aaahh would be great I thought to myself . I then contacted him via Telegram , and we got to building ROMs within two weeks or so (I blame my internet speed for that ) . I will always be thankful to him .I then continued to release my first ROM , which was Hurricane-AICP , which was a highly acclaimed ROM for the opo . I then got to collaborate with @jgcaap , and I feel really lucky for that . I then got the Op3 in June , and continued my heavily optimized AICP builds for it too , under the name Kryo-AICP , paying homeage to the SD820 . I then again tried many ROMs after that , and saw RR to have drastically improved . I then decided to rebase my builds to RR , but I admit , it failed to hit the mark in the first shot , due to some bugs and rough edges . I now have them cleared out , and am capable of fixing bugs (finally) . I also have almost double the experience of ROM building by now , and without further waiting , let's get to the ROM itself !
Features :
All RR features !
GCC & Clang O3 (Optimized for speed ) !
Optimized Low-level code !
Polly on Clang !
Enabled Graphite and its identity transformation !
ODEXED for faster boot times and better performance !
More Optimizations and features coming soon !

Did you had chance to test it out already? My download is progressing slowly, but I'd be interested in your feedback.
Alert slider working? Echo issue? Feedback on performance / smoothness / stuttering?
Thanks!

OpenBeta 7/9 should work fine.
OK, I installed this ROM with Open Gapps Nano and all is working well so far.
Started from scratch with a clean flash so I'm still setting things up.
One quick question: is there an option to force the volume panel to be always expanded by default? I remember this feature from some custom ROM in the past and really liked it.
Will keep posting my feedback along with the normal usage goes on.

Just found a little glitch: in Settings app the Gestures menu is listed ad "com.cyanogenmod.settings...." instead of "Gestures".
A second quick question: is there somewhere the possibility to choose the global accent color, or do we have to rely on themes when they'll be available?
Edit: one more: Settings > Additional buttons > Swap buttons get reset at each reboot.
Hey manav, thanks for the rom, it looks very promising. May I ask if you could look at unlink ring and notification tone? I realy miss it in RR N. The only Nougat rom that has it is AICP i think.
Thank you either way.

OOS camera port not working on this ROM... It freezes at every photo taken. Need to exit and restart app...
Hey whats good mate? Glad to see what you have accomplished
Well, here is my impression after a full day using this ROM, started with a clean flash: performance are good (actually was really impressed from the speed of first boot) but to achieve a perfect stutter-free scrolling I had to set battery profile to "Performance".
Doesn't seem to use too much battery at the moment, will report back if anything changes.
I'd love to hear something from the builder about the questions raised yesterday.
Again, thanks a lot for this great ROM!

There have been lots of changes on RR's side , so I'm gonna merge them and release a new build on Sunday or Monday . Lots of device tree improvements are there too , so don't judge the ROM by the first build itself

What is the most stable most updated ROM for Redmi 4 PRO (markw) right now?

Hello!
I am looking for a ROM for daily use (all things/connectivity/camera working; particularly GPS) and well uptaded (OTA). I wanted LineageOS official but there isn't an official version of it so... this is a good oportunity to try others.
What is the most stable ROM out there right now. I want stability as hell and patches for security reasons.
I read about MiracleDroid been the most stable but I didn't found the XDA thread... (i think it is because the dev is a russian guy named Razziell from a russian forum). Also, Is it in other languages like english/spanish or only russian?
Is MDroid more stable than SuperiorOS or dotOS (this look really nice)? What do you prefer?
BTW I hate when a project use sourceforge as repository but I appreciate the work of the devs tough.

For now, you could use official rom from ResurrectionRemix, Havoc OS, or Pixel Experience
I dont know for the "most" stable but I have to say SuperiorOS is pretty stable. Only few app crash (messenger) but it seems to be resolve in the last versions.
And it is Official and supported at least monthly
I'm using Mdroid by Raziell, it's very stable and runs very well

Nice work but the unstable Chrome was an issue for me.
Hi, its really exciting to see such an early Q for Rosy. May I know if VoLTE, bluetooth and wifi is working as these are broken in most GSI ported ROM.
I can confirm that WiFi works but I didn't connect my Bluetooth and I don't use volte.
I can also confirm that Chrome beta seems to work perfectly and doesn't suffer like regular Chrome but I still get the odd error opening the play store.

Yes wifi, hotspot, volte almost everything is working fine..
I'm gonna try Phhusson's pure AOSP 10 v200 GSI too
For some reason the WiFi for me isnt working, its freezes the whole UI and have to Hard Restart, apart from that the rom was working fine.
Don't know why can't play any video in gallery or in any other players (tried several) and also YouTube crashes when played video.
Zero problems except Android services randomly freezing apps such as chrome
Okay so ive been using this rom since the day it got published here and what do i say, its super fun to try and so good!
Really everything that android 10 has offered me so far is just amazing and i dont know how much more i can expect!
Some cons are here since this is ported which are wifi cast not working, bluetooth not working properly (the device connects but the system ui crashes for some reason), the battery drains a bit quicker and the double tap 2 wake and no chrome support yet, but apart from that, the rom hasn't been an issue for me and i am gonna use it more and more!

i am currently using this rom. Pretty Stable and fast. No lags. Though i am not a heavy user so i haven't faced any heating issue. And Volte, bluetooth and wifi, dual sim works perfectly. One issue i faced There is an internal application called "app.android.com" it stops working due to that sometimes your network with automatically turn off and automatically gets on after some milliseconds. You will barely notice that bug. (TIP- once you get that stopped popup notification after every restart of your phone you can go to app info -> force stop. After doing that you will not face that random network off and on issue) Am using this rom from last 3 days.. And i am not facing any other issue. And this rom is Far better that MIUI. and yeah forget to mention that.. Battery life is brilliant after you switch on the dark mode
