Bricked my 2016 Honda Headunit - Android Head-Units

2016 Honda Pilot with a Clarion headunit running Android 4.2.2. I installed HondaHack, BusyBox, SuperSu, and Viper4Android. Everything was working fine, and I was able to connect via Android Auto without problems. I was attempting to install Viper4Android on there, but the driver would not install. Each time I started the program, it prompted again to install the driver. I tried removing and reinstalling busybox, but it just didn't work. I gave up and walked away from the Head Unit that was working. Came back a few hours later, and all I get is a blank screen. The Honda logo shows up, but then nothing but blackness. Tried plugging in a keyboard, no joy. Tried holding the power button to hard reset, no joy. Pulled the battery cable and the fuse, still screwed.
I'm making my last plea to the hive mind before I throw in the towel and buy a replacement OEM radio. Is there any magic I can do to try and get my device back to a useable state?
Thank Youi

Sadly No,
Still wait if anyone in the forum gets some idea

Help - Unit on loop...

Hi
I recently bought a Joying UMS01N2 - 2GB 7" Single Din unit... I had previously posted about recommended upgrades, and was successful in doing some basic mods...
I changed the boot logo to a custom , and was then playing around with the bootanimation.zip file to get a custom boot animation (duh)... however, I may have messed something up because now the unit starts, shows the custom boot logo, and then goes to a lit black screen - almost as if in an endless loop... it will not load onto the launcher/app and stays as a black lit screen... I have tried to recover by restarting, and long/short pressing the PWR and RST buttons, but nothing is allowing a reboot/recovery...
Any advise?
I am running Android 6 as per the latest factory ROM (unit received in August) - not updated in Sep to recent update posted on the joying page
Thanks!
I would try to make a "blind" reflashing by attaching flash drive with latest FW.
How exactly is that done? Thanks in advance
Just connect flash drive containing unzipped FW files. Optionally do a soft reset with a toothpick into RST hole. Then wait. Hopefuly reflashing can wipe those boot animations for good (which I am not quite sure of).
As to me, I can not see any point in installing boot animations which under normal conditions one is not going to see on his/her HU screen ever. Only if something wrong happens and some sort of reset performed. Good reminder would be to me what a "beginner" I am
*Needless to say that USB flash drive should be error free irrespective of formatting option.
Would you not see the bootanimation every time the car is started? I say every time since I will probably only drive once a week (weekend toy) and I believe the Joying unit shuts down within 3 days of going into standby...
I will try to reflash using a USB... will post back if I need any further help... Thanks!
It worked!! Thanks!!!
I was able to reflash with a soft boot using the Sep 1 firmware... all my old apps are still there, but I will test them out later... for now the only issue I have is none of my left panel buttons on the screen are working anymore? I have a single din detachable screen with a column of buttons on the left side (power, home, nav, and volume)... and none of them respond to touch?? Is there a setting I need to adjust for this?
There is in settings - something like MCU HW buttons (do not remember exactly, may not contain "HW", but does contain "MCU" and "button"). Should work.

Boot loop can't factory reset - softkeys only

I purchased a Chinese HU off of Ebay (a Witson, DKS9625)and it's been working pretty well for the past few months. I went to turn my car on a couple of days ago, and it gives me the error "Can't load Android system" with the option to Try again or to Factory data reset. The thing is, I can't move the cursor down to factory reset because the Power/Volume +/- keys don't work.

How do I get out of this bootloop? My softkeys don't work so I can't use Power/Volume +/-. I've tried plugging in a usb keyboard and a usb mouse but nothing is detected. I've tried cutting power completely (remove the battery) and that doesn't work either. The screen shown seems to indicate that this is Android 8.1.0 but I bought it with Android 10. Is that just a marketing thing due to it being Chinese? Do I need to reflash this unit and with what image as I don't have the original MCU. Is there a WIKI or a how to somewhere that would help? Thanks for all of the help.
Have exactly the same problem, i tried to plug a keyboard but not detected..
If someone have a issue please help

Suzuki Grand Vitara - M779 Head Unit PX5 Octa Core - stuck on Bootlogo

Hey guys,
I bought a Navigation System M779 (androidautoplayer.com) for Suzuki Grand Vitara from AliExpress one month ago.
At first, everything was fine and I was very happy about it. Nothing to conplain about.
Then I went on Holidays for about 14 days, in which the car wasn't used in any way.
Yesterday I started the car for the first time after Holiday, the battery still was fine but the radio did not boot. The screen stayed black and the Buttons did not light up.
After checking the Plugs on the back, the screen showed a Bootlogo, but got stuck.
I did not modify anything and everything was fine until Holiday.
Can you please help me?
Pressing reset did not change anything. Sometimes, selecting reverse does activate the rear cam. That's it.
I don't know how to enter Recovery or how to install the Firmware.
It is an Android 9 PX5 System. This is everything I know.
Kind regards
Robin
May be able to reflash firmware using this method - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79144579&postcount=2 assuming that the manufacturer posts firmwares on their site, or can provide it to you via download, email, etc.
Thank you for your reply.
I tried some Firmware-files, just to see If the head unit enters Recovery. This failed.
The manufacturer also replied to a Mail, telling me that they will hand me out a possible solution next week.
I will wait eagerly.
Hallo again,
unfortunately the manufacturer did not provide a solution to recovery my Head Unit.
I managed to get into the Recovery Menu and tried to wipe data, but this had no effect at all. Still stucking in bootloop.
The information given in Rcovery Mode are:
rockchip/rk3368/rk3368
9/PQ2A.190305.002/hct204281503
userdebug/test-keys
Recovery V9.0.5.
Supported API: 3
Can anyone please help me restore the Head Unit?
Kind regards

Did you try to disconnect the main connector from the unit and leave it that way for a few minutes ?
And then reconnect it again.
Thanks for your reply... But I think I did very stupid today and bricked the device.
Reagrding to this topic "forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/android-head-units/head-units-rockchip-px5-mcu-csn2-t3912413" I flashed my device with "Fake Android 10 - July 6th 202007061156".
The flash ran smooth without any errors. But the screen seems dead now.
The buttonlights still turn on and do blink if I press the powerbutton for about 10s, but there is no bootlogo or anything at all.
I cannot enter recovery anymore.
**** happens?!?
Kind regards

Head unit erased itself

Hope someone can help. I have an Android 8.1 head unit (Chinese) which has been working fine. I removed it from my car and powered it up in the house with a PC PSU, this enabled me to sit for a few hours and set all my apps and home screen up just as I want it. Once all was done, it was running great. I installed back in the car and on powering up, everything was good. A couple of days later, I got in the car and the android displayed “Erasing" and took about 10 minutes to boot. On boot it has gone back to factory defaults and deleted everything. Even worse, the original launcher screen will not come on and it just says “Starting android" but does not progress any further and I cannot get into any settings.
Does anyone know -
1) How to access recovery mode, either by the reset button combination or taking the motherboard out and shorting?
2) or How to Install the original or another Android that will work with my unit?
Or any other ideas? I'm fairly confident when it comes to fixing stuff, just need a walkthrough to get me up and running again.
I had the same issue after installing a new firmware in my Junsun V1 Pro with Mtk8257 CPU. Unfortunately you're just writing that you have a Chinese head unit but all Android head units are from China...
This happened only once and after configuring everything again I have no further problems. The "Starting Android" screen appeared several minutes. So still stay patient and wait.
I thought the erasing happened because I remounted the vendor partition for write access in a wrong way. Maybe you installed a software component or performed some special actions which may be the reason for the erasing?
