Hello everyone! Im brand new on here and hoping someone will be able to help me! I have recently got a android 11 head unit which i have installed in my Van but i have no idea of the model! I have a niggling fault with it that im trying to rectify.
I have a reversing camera fitted which worked no problem with my old monitor ( was separate from original head unit). My new one has a dedicated reverse camera AV Line in with a blue cable next to it which i assumed was the switching input for when i select reverse to activate the reversing app which is meant to be installed and another identical looking cable on the same plug which i assumed was the earth. So ive connected it and its not doing anything. I plugged the AV input into another plug idented AV In and i can go to the AV in app and select it and it works but i want it to automatically do it when i select reverse.
Any help with this is much apreciated!

Hello,
I have been searching a while now on various forums. I have a generic Android stereo for my car. It has multiple RCA in connections. Right now I have my backup camera plugged into one, my front bumper cam plugged into another. Then the last is an AV in which I have nothing connected to at the moment. The unit comes with software that allows me to pull up and watch any of my video IN sources. I was wondering if someone might know of a possibility of an app or some other means to record one or more of the inputs. I would like to use my front bumper cam as sort of a dash cam. It has a perfect field of view and would suit perfectly as a dash cam. Having the ability to record any of the inputs would be an awesome feature. Right now it only seems to detect USB camera inputs for some dash recorder apps I have found on the market. Of course I would be looking for something that has the ability to record from composite/RCA/CVBS in the background. I am currently working trying to convert the composite signal to USB using a converter of sorts. I was just hoping someone here might be able to help with a possibility I have not thought of. Any help would be appreciated. I thank you for any response in advance.
On mine it has a car record app..I'll try finding the apk for you
Much appreciated. Mine too came with some apps. None of them worked correctly. Then after a factory reset, I can no longer even install them.
Hi everyone, my first thread here and absolutely new for android world! Was able to configure everything and like it much, just tryed everything without luck about this camera setting so hope you can help me
I bought an android head unit from ebay, all i can say from it is that it has a 10.1” display, works over android 6.0.1 and connects to the vehicle (chrysler) throw a canbus decoder. I think the system is not rooted, but it does something weird, when i try to read and write files throw the diferent directories, some times it let me do it, most of the times not. But as its a head unit i cant do anything more than what i can do when the system is running...
Ok wheres the problem, when i engage reverse gear, the unit detects it and goes to reversing mode were it looks for a video input from camera and after that a “no signal” messege is displayed, but doesnt let me go back or home, it stay there and there is no camera conected by wire, the camera is conected by wifi (i can perfectlly see it throw an app, and i connected it to parking lights so it starts before i reverse and wile im getting the place were i need to park it gets conected automatically).
What i need is to modify parameters on the head unit to open the reversing app in place of going to reverse mode when i engage reverse gear, do you think is yhis posible? If not, at least its ok for me to disable this function, so i can manually open the app, but as i told before, the unit gets the information throw a canbus decoder, so i cant just cut a wire.
Looked for a script or something, found a com.reversecar file but it dosnt let me modify it, i was just able to change “no signal” messege to “[email protected]” haha but nothing else. There is another file throw /sys/modules but i cant copy it to a usb or sd car so i have a back up if i delete it hoping that disables it.
So any ideas?
Thank you very much!!
Pd: A music control widget for apex launcher that can control stock music player (that is the only one that works with steering wheel controls would be great)
I think the idea is death already!! and New one comes to get all solutions!!
Hi
I have recently fitted an Android head unit in my VW Passat. It is an Erisin, not sure about the model. This was an easy installation as it plugged straight into the existing cradle. After a few settings adjustments this works great. As the car has an OEM reversing camera I had a to purchase an adaptor that would make it work with the new unit. I was hoping that somebody might be able to give me some directions on how to fit this thing as I really don't have a clue. Where do the 3 wires have to be connected?
I can't post a link but if you Google search VW076 the first result will give you a picture of the part.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, just installed my new Android HU in my Golf MK5, I have configured everything and it is working great apart from one issue no matter of searching has got me to the solution.
I do not have a reverse camera installed but every time I put the car in reverse it goes to a black screen as it is was there.
As far as I can tell there are 2 usually solutions to this:
1) Turn the option off under ‘Extra Settings’. My particular unit does not have an Extra Settings menu and I have looked at all other settings and there is no option as far as I can see to disable it.
2) Cut the reverse signal wire going into the head unit. My HU takes the original wiring loom from the car with no extra CANBUS. I have checked wiring diagrams there does not appear to be any dedicated wire for the reverse signal.
Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this please? Let me know if you need any more information.
Option 3: Install Backup Camera
FYI You didn't list the HU model so not sure anyone can help you. On my IDoing uis7862 it's in the settings to disable auto switching.
I'm also looking to disable that option in my head unit. Its a 8227l installed on a Peugeot 407.
For now I will keep the camera for another time when I have the budget for it.
You have to identity the REVERSE wire of the wiring harness. You car provides a +12V signal on it as soon as you enter the reverse gear. You can unpin this wire - don't forget to isolate it.
Another approach could be to disable the Android activity which presents the picture of the reverse camera. This can be done via ADB command (Google for it).
It requires to get the package and activity name but I think there are apps in Google PlayStore available which can list the recently started activities.

Thanks! I will look for that. I'm pondering installing a camera, so this solution would be temporary.

Then, if I were you, I would not invest time in this issue, because it is not a malfunction for you.
Hi, New to the site and a greyhead who knows nothing about the electronics of these things. I installed a Navitree Y1E Android 11 4core 2+32GB Car DVD player for Ford Focus 2 2004-2011 audio for car video AM FM RDS 4G WIFI BT in my 201 Ford Focus. All appeared well as fitting was easy. All looked great and now I have found there is a constant live feed to the unit that is the possibe cause of a flat battery. My son is a mechanic and accepts he is not electronically knowledgeable, but he tested the wires and found a Yellow wire that was live and for memory, but there was a red wire that was permantly live and should be a switch feed. Can anyone advise if they have had experience with this model (Direct from China) and what is happening? Appreciate any help.

Hi Guys asnyone able to help. No help from supplier and looks like I will have to ditch the headunit..
Why would you ditch the head unit? It needs the permanent power on the yellow wire and a switched feed on the red wire. Your vehicle is currently not providing this so either you have wired the unit to the wrong feed or there currently isn't one so you'd need to find a connection in the vehicle which does switch with the key and run it to the red wire. As the red wire is only a sensing input it doesn't need heavy wiring.
It is not a head unit fault.
Note some vehicles supply the switching information to the stock head unit via the CANbus, yours may be like that and would explain the lack of a switched feed at present but you can easily overcome this.

Thanks
Mr.TT_NZThanks for replying..appreciate comments..The red wire is going into the canbus via a 20 pin connector if it is cut the problem seems solved, so are you saying that I should have a switch cable run to that? See image for wiring.
Ah so you do have a CANbus module, I believe there are some issues with switching via those modules but I've never had one to play with.
You could try removing the red wire from the CANbus module and connecting a switched feed to it instead (not as well as) so the head unit only gets its switch control from your new wire. Maybe that CANbus module is not exactly correct for your model of car, there are so many variations even within a certain model that it is hard to see how the people who write the software for the modules can keep up with all of them.

Thanks again. I will try this...did a bit off research on the canbus and there is no UK retailer who will sell me a Ford canbus and guarantee it will work! Most said it would be a sale with no return.. Hey Ho..
