How to disable back keylight on physical hw keys? - Asus ZenPad 10 Questions & Answers

Is there a rooted app I can download to set illumination of the back key lights to zero without having to use a script? I'm also open to flashing a magisk zip or using an xposed module if there are any. Thanks for any answers you have.

Never mind, I didn't know it could be done through gravitybox until today.

hi Wickedshi-
As you are on Phoenix Rom you should have Xposed Framework installedI.
If not here is the thread for it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
open Xposed framework and enable it ( STEPS Xposed installed-Framework-Install/Update, phone would reboot)
once that done open Xposed framework again and now click download and search Wanam Xposed and download.
once done downloading enable Wanam xposed in Module option of Xposed framework and reboot.
Once done open Xposed framework - Wanam Xposed- System- Long home key behavior-select and Reboot-Enjoy:laugh:
Dont Forget to click the Thank-you button:good:

Shield Tablet running Xposed on Lollipop

Hi all,
With Xposed just released for Lollipop I was hoping we could start a thread on experiences thus far. I'm reading conflicting user reports that it actually works on the Shield tablet and was hoping we could consolidate our findings her.
I'll be giving it a go later tonight.
Mods, if this if in the wrong forum please feel free to move.
Not sure if this is the right forum for a post like this but..
It works. I installed it on my tablet. Your module mileage may vary depending on the modules. Some things in gravity box work, some don't etc... You're gonna need to test stuffs. As always, make a backup before installing xposed!
So far so good. I'm getting the standard "Xposed is not installed error,"
but I read it is a GUI glitch due to the way the alpha build was created. I'm using ADM+, YouTube AdAway and BootManager and don't notice any major issues yet.
I've got it installed as well. Burnt Toast, CrappaLinks, and Play Store Changelog all seem to work. It's interesting that the Lollipop Xposed thread has a ton of posts about needing to put SELinux in permissive mode followed by a soft reboot in order to get Xposed to work. I did not need to do that. SELinux is set to enforcing but Xposed is working from what I can tell
I'm using Xgels and youtube adaway. Its running fine with no reboots or crashes.
I previously had tested out gravity box for notification toggles, but as I expected, its not working. I also previously had the phab7 module installed to play with the dpi, but it doesn't seem to stick through a reboot and I was only looking to get the fullscreen notif pulldown, but I can live without so i uninstalled.
I have SELinux in permissive due to Viper4Android.
Gilbot, what DPI are you looking to use? Is there a huge benefit in altering?
Works fine for me in both permissive and enforcing.
has anyone had any success with xprivacy 3.6.6? I'm running superpichu's kernel which is supposed to have SELinux set to permissive, and indeed selinux mode changer shows it as permissive without me doing anything. The problem is when i install xprivacy and activate/reboot, i get stuck in the boot screen.

I never really messed with this tablet's dpi, but I am not sure if I dig the notification pulldown width, I feel like I want more touch room and width for notifications to include more info. Its a minor thing though and I'm fine without it.
Fair enough. Let me know if you ever do some experimenting. I'm also interested about what's gained with adjusted DPI.
FYI. I tried Xposed for the 1st time and liked it. But while using gravity box (which I also really liked) my shield CONTROLLER was acting funny.
The mapping got all screwed up and the mapping app stopping working (error message) when you hold down start on controller and click the little cloud icon to download mappings.
Anyway had to del gravity box and just did away with Xposed for now.
And now controller works fine. Weird....
Anyone else having issues with the controller using Xposed moduels?

Hi,
I had installed xposed alpha and a few modules. I had issues with it not going to sleep, and now it wouldn't turn the screen back on so I had to hard-reboot it.
How do I go about uninstalling XPosed? I did a full TWRP backup before I did xposed, if that matters.

Restoring that backup will get rid of it.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do I have to wipe first? I haven't done backups or restores in a long, long time. Like, Droid Incredible was my last modded phone. Heh.

Ha, I loved my Incredible. But yeah do a full wipe then restore.
I had to uninstall xposed. Massive battery drain. Couldn't root cause the issue definitively, but once I uninstalled battery is back to normal.
I'll wait for a more stable framework in the future.
My experience on Xposed
Hello guys
I have installed xposed on my shield tablet, it's work but it's difficult ( i have many bug on boot )

From here.
I had no problems so far. Only one module (awesome pop up video - twitch addon) is not working, it just F/C.
So, if you ask me, its perfectly fine. But it probably denpends on the moduls you want to install.
I have shield tablet LTE which installer do I use?
Arm, arm64, x86?
Thanks in advance I've been trying to figure this out before flashing.

Soft Keys

Hello, I have a SGH-I337 S4, rooted, running Hyperdrive RLS21, with safestrap . The menu and back capacitive buttons recently stopped working, intermittently. I tried the software update ( *#2663# ), with no luck. I was trying to enable soft keys to always stay on (on the bottom of the screen) , but I couldn't get that working either. I have been using Pie Control, but I am looking for a better solution. This is currently my backup phone.
Does anyone know how to enable soft keys? Or any KK ROMS that allow soft keys to be enabled?
Thanks
It happened to me after I flashed my i337 with stock rooted OK2 room from NC1 kitkat rom. I found a lot of posting about missing soft back and menu key after they got their lollipop update, but I did not find any working solution for me. I tried to use softkey enabler but it made my screen smaller and sometime the phone refused to turn on. Had to press power button about 10 sec to turn the phone on. So I odin back to NB1, rooted, installed flashfire and flash the stock rooted OC4 rom and the softkeys are working again. I am sure it is not the answer you were looking for but I just want to let you know what I did.
Thanks for the info. I tried your method, but they still stop working at random times. I tried softkey enabler, it would install, but never show the soft keys. The keys started to act up on their own (it wasn't right after an update)

If you'd tried my method, the softkeys should be working after you odin the NB1. The was no issued reporting for softkeys on kit-kat. If yours are not working in kit-kat there might be a hardware issue then.
After installed the softkey enabler, the phone need to be rebooted. The softkey enabler shrink the display in order to show their softkey in the bottom of the screen.
I do believe that it's a hardware issue. They would randomly stop working on stock NB1.
I installed softkey enabler, and got an error message (Unfortunately, The Android system has stopped). I had restore a backup to get it working again. I installed Navigation Bar from Developer "Just Relax" from the playstore, and that seems to be my best option.
Hi, I have Exynos chipset s4 I was using xposed framework with Gravitybox. you can enable navbar softkeys from gravity box but is permanently solution. (Camera app has little dpi issue)

OK instalL. GBox for KK and downgrade version.
Alright, i got it working. It seems like gravitybox doesn't play well with the Rom I was using (Hyper drive). I restored an old backup i had of stock rooted nc1 and it works. Now i just have to decide if having the navigation bar is worth using a stock rom.

Looking for a possibility to hide root

Hey guys,
I am looking for a way to hide root, because I want to use the app "SEQR". I flashed the Superman Rom Nougat. I tried to hide magdisk with the build in tool, this didnt work. I also tried to uninstall root with their provided uninstall zip, but this also failed. The app says, my device is rooted. So have anyone a idea to have a possibility to have a rom with temporality root, it's no problem to uninstall root every time when I need it.
Thank you
Noone any ideas?
I saw someone mention the superman rom
I think the best way to hide it is using lastest Magisk with MagiskHide enabled in Magisk settings
I'll bump the thread if that's ok.
Also want to use SEQR with root if possible.
Tried the hide magisk in the meny and that did not work. Is there anything else to do?

try clearing cache & dalvik after flashing magisk. then make sure magiskhide is enabled and your app is selected.
running fine here.
For me it works partly App starts added in the MagiskHide list but the App dont want to activate the Tap&Pay Feature already 2 hours left and still not activated. Already cleared Cache&Dalvik nope
Maybe someone knows a workaround
xposed rootcloack module does not work either
found this thread and got excited I could get an answer

"Battery level full" - Any solutions to disabling this notification?

I am running rooted Swift and Fast B170 ROM on one XT and stock B180 on another and have yet to find a way to disable this seemingly system based notification. On my rooted device I tried to install Xposed but ran into a boot loop issue after installing the framework so I am inclined to think that isn't a possible route to a solution. The OS notification center is pretty useless in managing app notifications and the battery notification doesn't seem to be tied to a specific app anyway.
Does anyone have any ideas how to disable the notification?
So I ended up disabling the System UI notifications all together. And that works but I'm pretty sure its going to disable other important notifications controlled by System UI. If anyone has any true solutions let me know.
Xposed can be installed on the Ascend XT. Search for my Xposed thread. I'm using Magisk Systemless Xposed v87.1.
Why not just swipe away the battery full notification. Yes, you've probably killed other things too by disabling SystemUI.

Have you tried using an Xposed module to remove it, I recall using one to do that to remove the same notification on my S4.

Because it's a nuisance, and I've notice with some games that notification (w/sound) will kill all in game sounds until the game is restarted. But that's just my 2ยข

yes it can pop up at the most inopportune time and its honestly a useless notification in the bar that is distracting. notifications shouldnt be in the bar that i should ignore.
@mattzeller and like i said before i tried installing Xposed before i believe the regular installer and that went fine but when i installed the framework and rebooted it kept boot looping at the android logo and i had to reflash the Swift and Fast ROM.
I plan on exploring the Xposed install that divineBliss mentioned I just need to backup my current ROM first and then double check all of the steps required. I hope it works. cause it really is a distracting notification.

Using systemless Xposed is a fairly straightforward process. This is the way I got it working on mine since Magisk wouldn't flash because of the modified boot.img and would only modify stock, you don't have to flash the ROM like I did, but I was doing cleanup and reflash anyway.
1. Download all required files and put them on your external SD card.
a. Swift&Fast: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=72258982
b. Magisk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=68966662
2. Make sure you have the correct boot.img for the firmware version you are using, can't use B160 boot.img on B170 ROM, it causes wifi problems. I extracted boot.img from @madvane20 's Swift&Fast ROM since that's what I am running.
3. Do all necessary wipes and flash ROM, do NOT reboot yet.
4. Flash extracted boot.img (select img in TWRP to show *.img files) do NOT reboot yet.
5. Flash Magisk (I'm using current/stable)
6. Wipe caches and reboot.
7. Boot your phone, open Magisk Manager and go to Downloads and install Xposed Framework (SDK 23). I got an error here trying to download and install. I fixed it by adding the folder Magiskmanager to internal sdcard.
8. Download and install latest Xposed installer for systemless Xposed. The link for that is in the Magisk module information for Xposed.
9. Reboot (got a kitK Kat? It's gonna be a while) and everything should be working.
Occasionally after a reboot you can't open settings(Xposed issue), just reboot again, should clear that up.

Although I'm sure there's a way via xposed to disable the notification, I haven't found it yet. The xEMUI module has some nice tweaks, but nothing related to that.
Perhaps via appOpsXposed, or via stopReceiverBroadcasts... remove the ability for SystemUI to see the charging related events..?

once i get over pneumonia ill fix my b180 rom. however b180 in general has bad battery drain for me on stock or my rom. will help what i can once i feel better
Have you tried the NotifyClean module in Xposed?
Thanks -n0cturne- for the xEMUI tip. I have been dying to center the clock in EMUI w/o having to use FSBI. FSBI works really well, but slows everything down.

Notifyclean will do what you ask, I have tested it and once I blocked that specific notification, no longer pops up or chimes that the battery is full

NotifyClean only lets you disable the tray notification, not the pop up dropzone notification. . Unless I'm missing something?

It gets rid of the notification in the notification area and blocks the pop-up that occurs when it's full. Just not the "you just plugged your phone in" pop-up
