Hi,
is it possible to set up the Fire TV as a WiFi hotspot? I would like to connect my Oculus Quest directly to the FireTV to stream the current content on a TV or projector. No internet or similar is required. I've tried to use my smartphone but the result isn't satisfying
Tom
Some firesticks allow you to "Cast" to them (using miracast) - just go into the settings of the stick and it will have an option to go into cast mode.

I have had no problems using Clear Fi
tv Wired or wireless or behind a switch
It works as well on my tv /xbox that is wireless.. We have a very large home network in the house.. well beyond the 4 ports of the Netgear router. So the tvs in bedrooms that are wired network. Are behind a switch..(network hub) sometimes i have to reset the router to get one of them to see the tablet or the windows media center from my server pc.. its a Sanyo 47 inch lcd tv. my samsung Tv howerver on the same switch Works awesome with no setup or frustrations..
We use this feature very often.. I think its a problem with the sanyo. but cant say for sure because there is no place i have found to see the network settings .. they are all automatic and cant see or adjust ..

Hello,
I have ordered an ADT-1 from eBay and I have a question about initial setup. I have connected my ADT-1 to my TV via HDMI, the network connection via Ethernet, but I'm trying to figure out how to set up going through the on-screen menu.
On my TV screen, the first screen are language options - if it came with a remote, I would just press "OK" and I assume it would prompt me through everything. I have tried installing the "Android TV Remote Control", but it seems to install on my Galaxy Note 3, it detects the ADT-1 on the network, but then the app continuously crashes making the remote unusable.
I guess my question is how, or what do I need to go through the initial setup of the ADT-1 on my TV screen? Do I need to break out my Logitech remote from the basement and see if the ADT-1 is in its database? Or is there another way to set this up through the OSD?
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
Is there any way to connect an unrooted android phone to Chromecast without a WiFi? My phone will have an internet and it can use it's hotspot to connect to Chromecast. But, turns out, turning hotspot on will turn off the Wifi automatically. This seems to be a unsolvable problem, do any of you guys know any better?
Problem:
I'm trying to connect my phone to a LCD display in my car. The car display has a video input. So, if I can connect Chromecast with a HDMI to video converter, then I can have my phone control that display. I don't necessarily have to use Chromecast, I can use whatever... like Amazon fire stick or something if those are better for this purpose.
I appreciate any inputs. Thanks.
I haven't done it yet personally but you need another phone or device to act as the hotspot or wifi.

Heres the video.
Simplified Instructions maybe?
-Turn on your phone's WiFi hotspot
-Connect a computer to it
-Set up your chromecast to use your phones hot spot as the network
-Plug your chromecast into your radio, TV, or AV reciever.
Do the initial setup for the chromecast on your home wifi, then set your phone's hotspot with the same ssid and password as your home wifi network. When you turn on the hotspot, the chromecast will connect to it automatically and you can stream video from online via the wifi hotspot.
Hi Is there a way to cast content on my phone to another source (via cast button) or app embedded cast that isn't chromecast? I know miracast isn't an option. I'm looking for something that doesn't require always on internet like chromecast
Ultimately I would love to buy a non chromecast reciever and cast whatever i can through my phone to it (like friends house who may not have always on wifi like chromecast requires)
Thanks,
Chris
Chromecast doesn't require internet. It requires WiFi (same router or not - as guest), but so it will anything else that you want to use to "cast" video.

Samsung Smart TV with the You Tube app on it. You can cast from You Tube on your phone.
I've streamed my windows 10 X64 to shield tv 2017 16GB by using moonlight, by adding "mstsc.exe" to geforce experience. The connection is run over ethernet gigabit , but the audio is still running in my PC, how can I pass it to the shield tv too? I can't seem to find the option to do this.
Thanks!
Edit: A system restart did the trick, it's usually under audio settings and change playback device there, but it didn't work at first for me.
