Good day I have had my Pumpkin Auto Head unit now since 2018 with a few headaches over the years that I can't ignore any longer. Mainly it freezes and crashes only option is to to a reset by powering off and back on and reconnect it to wifi and start my navigation again. Spotify and other apps just crash and shutdown along with a few other things like wifi not connecting sometimes and bluetooth working when it feels like it. I have contacted the manufacturer but all they do is recycle they're solutions by copying and pasting them to us customers. They ignore us current customers and just push newer models in frustrating, No new updates, no firmware update no Os updates. I was wondering if someone here can help me get something done as in updating this head unit so I can get a year or two more out of it as I will be purchasing a new car in that time. Until then id like to maximize the life if this head unit till then if possible. Thank you members in advance.

If anyone could help tell me more about this unit and how I can get out of this software lock I'm in. It has something that does not allow me to access the droid menus at all with the exception of a limited old cheap menu I'm familiar with. I've seen it on the old $5 net10 phones. Here's the unit I bought and here are the menus I have access to and the listing of the exact same unit stating 5.1.1 etc. etc.
I would like to update it to 6.0 or even a cleaner 5.1.1 I tried a JOYING 5.1.1 but I couldn't get it to find the update. I need to get this unit running on something I can work with. I can not pick which apps to boot with, to default wifi to on my to my hotspot, can not change the radio to have the "next" botton on SWC change to next preset and it's driving me insane.
Please don't think I haven't looked around for tens of hours.

Google solely for the mcu. I have a bosion hu (awesome hu, terrible tech support) but it had same mcu as a brand with regular updates and I just updated os and mcu without a problem.
Thanks Toebab,
I've searched every combo of every version of mcu and arm and anything else I've been able to find. I'm going to run a hardware info app tomorrow. I'm only posting this because I've poured my heart out already. I do have a file explorer I'm going to try and further google on.

I've looked around the forums and theres been some results with uninstalling updates and allowing it to reinstall the update , however Iet won't let me uninstall the updates , , I've trying installing the APK (update) and this won't let me do it that way either.
I don't even know who the manufacturer is.
Hope someone who knows a lot more about Android head units can help (Please)
Hello, I'd return that for a refund if it still in customer protection zone. I see by the link that this web is gone, probably some scam involved.
Hi everyone,
I have joined and posted today as I am struggling to find information on my Hizpo headunit, which I am lead to believe is just a generic chinese unit with a bezel and firmware slapped onto it.
I am wanting more from my head unit like better apps, connect to my OBD, resume music when turned on and faster boot time.
The issue I am having is threads mentioning MTCD, etc. I am not sure how to figure this out but I am assuming this is related to the MCU build. If this is true them my build isnt that and is something different.
I have have read a number of threads relating to this MCU and were utterly useless.
The details the head unit provides are:
Model Number: CAR AUDIO
Android Version: 5.1.1 (which I am lead to believe is not true)
Kernel Version: 3.4.67 Wed Apr 19 12:02:15 HKT 2017
Build Number: ALPS.LD_KK1.MP10.V1.6
MCU: SM92B1.161111.V1-CYD-B3
DVD: SM92B1.161201.V1.2-CYD-TTL-12XH-DIG
I want to avoid buying another head unit and playing with that one as the chances of buying the same one is slim and if I get a more known set up I would have to wire that one in.
Thanks for any advice in advance.
For those who are still playing with this model.
After 4 hours thinking my touch screen needing calibrating and discovering the touch panel had failed, i now have the code for the admin menus.
12580
Some handy stuff in there.
How do you get into admin menu? I don't see anything related to admin or settings.
Hello All,
There is much information on this forum which has helped me so far on this android head unit journey but I am almost at the position where I might throw the damn thing out of the window and reinstall the basic manufactures head unit.
I bought the head unit from a dealer who is no longer in business and cannot contact them which closes off the normal route for enquiry.
The headhunt appears to be a generic Chinese manufacturer. The config shows as:
MCU Ver: DH200729T512188X611200805
FrameWork: 9 PQ2A.190305.002 eng.work2.20201208.100955
Android Ver: 9
App Ver: 2020120801T_1280x480_970
Tablet: rkpx6
The bluetooth function has been disabled which was originally a problem when using an iPhone as you have to hotspot every time. I overcame this with a wifi dongle and 4G card.
The GPS is terrible as well (part of the problem is the number of high rises that shadow the road). One of the main reasons for upgrading was the navigation which I generally cannot use.
So I thought a CarLinkit adapter would solve all of my problems which it did - although I get horrible screen interference that makes the unit completely unusable. The interference is completely random and CarLinkit have said that the problem is the head unit and not the adapter.
I've removed the adapter now and have to use my phone for navigation which works but doesn't solve the problem I originally tried to solve.
I seem to remember that the android version was originally ver 8 and it appears to have upgraded itself to version 9. When I play music know it takes about 2 minutes for the sound to come out of the speakers (even though the music appears to be playing). It only happens on the first boot of the head unit.
I'm currently banging my head against a wall with this technology and it appears that updating and not knowing exactly what you are doing could brick the system.
So my questions boil down to:
a) are my carlinkit issues really related to the head unit?
b) why would sound be delayed by 2 minutes after the unit has started?
c) what is the latest software I can apply to this head unit?
d) is there a better unit that I can install that will be much more reliable out of the box? there appears to be other head units available although I need a RHD option which many of the sellers on AliExpress saying isn't available.
Hopefully, I can gain some experience from others on this forum.
Thanks in advance,
DC

Any android head unit with less than 2GB RAM will be a dead zone to run apps or the OS. Apps crash a lot and OS doesn't perform well. I am not sure about your head unit's RAM capacity.
Alternatively, I would suggest uninstalling/disabling the apps that you don't really require through system settings >> apps
I purchased a Mazda that has a Eonon in it. Which from what I can tell is a rebranded Alps FF-5000. But is only has the bare minimum to work connected to it. It there anyway I can get the wires for the USB ports and the backup camera and I want Android Auto too. Is there anyway to just get the parts or is my best option just to upgrade from Android 10 and just buy the entire new Android 11 unit?
First be aware that the Android version on the FF5000 will be 8.1 or 9 at best, the Chinese have modified the properties file to display a fake Android version number, this will apply to many of the new units too. Download 'Fake Device Test' from the play store and see what you actually have.
Many of the vendors have the cord sets available as a spare part but you may need to ask as they may not have them listed on their sale sites.
Despite what one certain member here says, I think the FF5000 is a reasonably capable unit but the various software apps let them down. Alps is the parent company of the well-known Alpine car audio, they've been around for a very long time.
Why do you want Android Auto? Why not run the apps directly on the head unit and put your phone away?

The current radio I have is crazy slow when running off my hotspot on my phone and I have problems with apps force closing after running a while. The whole thing is just laggy in general on the android side. I end up just bluetoothing my music to it anyway most the time. I put a wireless Android Auto radio in my other car and love it but I also really like being able to run android natively on the unit is why I was thinking about upgrading to the newest unit that claims to run android 11. Even if it doesn't actually run Android 11 it has a better chipset and I was hoping that would fix my lag issue, slow wifi connection, and force closing. Plus wireless Android Auto would just be a added bonus.
