Hi, I think adding this feature will improve Lineage. I really like the monitor being on the side, not in the middle.

This will probably my most difficult adaptation: The lack of a clock always on screen, and two less important but still very high priority issues, having a view on open apps (preferably Metro too) and notifications - I still wonder what they were thinking, leaving out a notification center of some sorts. So, would it be possible to have a taskbar with such functionality always running in the Metro interface? Whether newly coded or just an adaptation of the present taskbar in the desktop environment? It probably is a question with high hopes, but worth the shot..
Will there be a new build for the Nook color?
PIE Status Update: 22-23 January, speed bump, scalability
We wrapped up the elementary work, now we will look into the technical issues that are still left. If you were afraid of buggy betas, it has gotten to a point where its pretty decent for daily use.
We rewrote the original AOSP control pretty much from scratch now. Even if it was once based on the Google control, you wont be able to recognize much when you see the code (which comes out soon). It is blazing fast now and responsive due to hardware acceleration and optimized drawing. The old betas were a bit laggy due to test code, we cleaned up completely. It should not be heavy on your battery either. Flicking or navigating it blind is simple. Until now we can do:
- Per app color, it has its own theme aswell but when switched off it picks up colors you define per app (see video)
- Recents key transforms into /// kill-all-button inside the recents view
- Rubberbanding for fast navigation
- Displays status informations like clock, date, notifications on touch
- We wrote our own custom panels for notifications and toggles that can be flicked into view - these are still basic though
- It can be on either of all the four sides, you can even set up multi trigger areas
- It is resolution independent and scalable - it will not look distorted on tablets and phablets anymore
- You can control the animations, even switch them off
- It supports per-app-expand, meaning that it can jump into PIE mode for apps you chose
First updates starting to roll out soon. 1-2-3 hours.
Thought I'd share this w/ fellow N5 users who may be interested in yet another way to maximize screen real estate...

Check out my post (#81) if you want to see how I customized the app for my daily use, essentially replacing PIE and Nav Bar while in expanded desktop (not disabling nav bar entirely, but if you set the dimensions correctly, you'll rarely see it unless you need it).

you need to set the dimentions as small as possible because anywhere the nav layer is functional, NOTHING ELSE IS!!! For instance, on my keyboard the 1 and 0 keys (or Q and P keys) do NOT work. Any apps that have controls anywhere the "GLOW" is or would be if enabled, will be affected. Personally I think Nav Layer is more of a hinderance than a help.Nothing works on the edges of my phone where Nav Layer is. Frustrating
Hey all, I'm looking for a weather app or module that will give me either a constant notification (like the google weather card but just needs to be constant) or sits somewhere in the quick settings (like the one integrated in CM12 is exactly what I would like). A lot of the apps I have tried do give the constant notification BUT they also keep an icon in the status bar which I am trying to avoid. A small handful, such as BrightWeather, offer the option to hide it and is the current one I am using so far. So does anyone have any suggestions on this?
I think amber has option for blank notification icon
Yeah it does, the only problem with Amber is that despite setting refresh interval to 3 hrs, I wakes my device a lot more often than that. I think it had woken to do something >15 times/hour. Tried to go through all the settings and not really sure what it was doing, but the battery drain was too significant
As the title says, I'm developing an application that would allow the user to freely control the lights independently. Requires root for now. But I'm looking forward to implement some great features in the app so we can push the feature set the Glyphs would allow.
Nice, I have a few for your consideration if its type your looking for.
Variable brightness if poss to reduce battery consumption, master override kind of idea.
Battery charge indicator, option to have it show until charged instead of the breif timeperiod when plugged in. Easier to glance over and get a rough idea.
Ability to set a certain segment to a specific notification or flash it every x amount for like a missed call, I feel current ones show when initially received then unsure on time frame inbeteen would be cool to put a set amount down, maybe a pulse effect until notification is cleared.
Are they individually addressable? Is so maybe turn the battery bar into a knight rider effect or the main ring light up like a new style car indicator.
Wled has some cool basic patterns and settings if that helps, even for ideas
Good luck
SOS feature would be really nice, SOS in morse code
Ability to have custom glyphs light up when in a call till end of call
I want to show off with my phone so I'd love it to be flashing as I speak(speach visualisation instead of music) so that people could see it
Tasker support would be awesome
Isn't someone already developing one

Indeed, one can find this application which also allows to configure the Gyphs.
@Xellerate,
One more application to allow this kind of customization is not negligible.
@oddlyspaced
I hope this application will be successful and fully effective.
Good luck with it.
