Good Morning,
I dont seem to have any option on settings to set the default video player on the system for VLC, is there any android apk that can do it or any way to do it? It's very annoying that even clearing defaults i cant find a way to set VLC as default.
Waiting to hear, thanks for the help in advance.
Best Regards.

Currently it's click one, view one, back to list and choose again. Is there anyway to specific a folder of videos to playback in sequence, or create a playlist of some sort that the default HTC video player will recognize? I know Coreplayer/TCPMP can do it, but they can't play encoded videos properly without hardware acceleration.
Thanks in advance.
i d love to know that too
a self bump...
So...can I conclude that such an app/option isn't available?
Any expert who can shed any light?
Is there a way to view on-line videos through WMP? Instead of the phone automatically using the default player (don't know what this player is?) On the default player, if I want to view an on-line video I have to actually download the vid to my phone, takes 2 to 3 mins to do this. Whereas WMP buffers the video and then plays it in about 10 secs without having to physically download it.
How come no help with this? I've been posting this thread and a similar one for two days now. If nobody knows the answer or there isn't one, can someone say.
Anyone please?
use either streaming media or coreplayer, i dont think anybody uses WMP anymore, it's waaaaay outdated.
btw, you can set file association to your favorite media player

Thx for reply.
Yes you're right about WMP, it's just that I found it much quicker to view a video. Coreplayer is something I might try. How would I set file association to my favourite player?
I have what I hope does not seem like a stupid question but has a simple answer.
I have a Motorola Xoom unrooted STOCK. I play Jetflicks on it (App for TV which DOES NOT use FLASH)
According to Jetflicks support the default video player on the Xoom will not play the files on their website correctly and they have been in contact with Motorola (Yeah Right) and a fix is coming. In the meantime they suggested I download Rockplayer Lite and when the window which ALWAYS shows up asking for which program you want to play the video file with, to choose Rockplayer. Well I have been trying to get that window to pop up and if I knew the name or could find the application in manage applications I would change it there.
Any assistance from the vast community would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance and coming from a person who lurks in this forum a lot more then participates I think what you guys and girls are doing is AWESOME. Keep up the amazing work.
Thanks
Vito
Think its just gallery or gallery 3d.

I tried that but still no luck....any other idea. Thanks
I don't understand the question. Are you looking to use RockPlayer as your default video player?

Yes thats exactly what I want to do.
Thanks
Bump....any help please it seems the Jetflicks support team while rapid in their responses lack any technical ability.
Thanks
bump: I would like to know how to make this work as well.
Pretty sure it's either Gallery or Movies. If you go into settings, applications, manage applications then clear data for those two does it help?
I'm right in thinking that the problem is you can't get the popup to display so you can choose rockplayer?
Hi im hoping anyone can help out with a problem..
I have put a couple of Anime MKV files on to test out how it looks... but i cant for the life of me work out how to switch from the default audio track (japanese) to the dubbed english audio track?
i cant seem to find any option to do this in either the standard video player... or also in the Dice player i downloaded to see if that could do it..
Any ideas?? or can anyone reccomend another player that offers audio track choice? its either that or im gonna have to learn japanese
Hi!
I'm in the same boat as you, as I have some Anime .MKVs with multiple audio tracks.
I found this player:
QQPlayer - com.tencent.research.drop (search for the name or packagename on the marketplace, I'd post the direct link, but I don't have enough posts yet to be able to post links.)
and can really recommend it.
You can easiely choose between the audiotracks (hit the menubutton during playback to get the dubs-/subsselection menu), it supports all sorts of subtitles and played everything I threw at it flawlessly so far.
Hope it works as well for you as it does for me
if you use diceplayer, check menu key -> settings -> select audio track .
you can chose mkv audio track.
Guys/girls I need help on this one.
Before Xperia SP I had Galaxy Ace. On Ace, I go to some webpage that contains video. When I press video after a while phone/android asks for me which player I want to use. More like this -> Android Phone - BS Player
Now, on Xperia I do not have such an option. But I would like Xperia or Android to behave in such manner so I can watch "streaming" videos throughout BS Player.
I want to do this, because of the controls and that video can go full screen.
Any help on this?
Phone is rooted....of course
What video player is being used..... Check in settings/apps see if video player is set to default if it is clear the default setting.
When video is about to play you might get option to play with bsplayer.
I use MX player mostly it is used as default but not always sometimes the stock video player is used.
This may or may not work and you may find the option is not set, in that car sorry can't help any further.

Well, this is how it looks. No matter if I use GChrome or Firefox, when I press on video that contains mp4 file, GChrome or Firefox start playing that file internally throughout themselves. There is no popup "Complete action using" like it was on Ace.
Default app for BS Player is grayed out, which makes it not default.
Look at stock video player is that set to default? Only asking... I got nothing else to suggest

I do not know what stock video player is. By that I mean, how default player is called? I cannot find it in Settings/Apps/All
I have just noticed when in settings/app there is option to reset app preferences... Try that. Hope it helps.

Nope it doesn't work. Still the same problem.
Disable movies via settings > Apps > All > Video's/movies > Disable
Reboot phone and open video you want to stream via BS Player and try again. Sometimes this works.

Still same, just this time video won't play. It just starts internal video screen with controls, but no video is played or even loaded.
