Hello,
I've aquired a very nice unused Metawatch m1 from a chairty shop. I've fixed all the problems with the Android Meta Manager so it runs on the latest Android and connects to the watch, unfortuntely it looks like this watch has never been used and still has the default factory firmware so it won't do anything until I can load producion f/w onto it.
Obviously Metawatch is long gone, but does anyone out there have a copy of the m1 f/w that I can load?
Interested to hear if anyone is using an M1 or would like to if they had a functional Meta Manger, I can share my APK if there is anyone interested.
Thanks for reading

I also bought the Meta watch M1 at the second-hand market. Can't connect either. Hope the community helps me and AlanE.
I now have version 3.1.0 f/w for m1, you will need a programming clip in order to flash the watch. A Frame clip can be made to fit.

I hope you have had success with your project. I also bought the meta-watch as new old stock (developer version and production version), but could not get the android software to work on the latest os release. Had given up hope, but just stumbled on this forum. Curious to know if you have a working solution now. How was the battery capacity? I have found that extended storage time has degraded the orginal battery and had to purchase replacements.
This is for the Meta M1 watch and not any other, the f/w will not work on the Strata or Frame models as it has a different TI MSP uC. I don't beleive there were ever any developer versions ever released so I think you will have a Frame. I've managed to modify the Android APK so that it now runs on Android-10.
Yes you are right! So it looks like I am out of luck.. It's a shame as the frame looks like a very capable watch.. I just wish these companies would stop gobbling up smartwatch competitors. I loved my pebble until the support ended.
If you have Frame/Strata with f/w v1.5.5 then you'll need metawatch manager apk v2.1.9 you should be able to find it with a quick google search even though it's no longer available on the playstore

I got now the Le Max 2 because it looks high end and is pretty cheap.
How can I easy move my stuff from Note3 to Le Max2 as best as possible
I dont want to setup install all by hand again
so technical its backup note3 -> restore Le Max2
That's a tough one. Altho the Max 2 runs on Marshmallow, and contains the google framework and most apps, you don't get the option to login to your google account and restore from another device that you were using, like you do when you use a certified handset. I ended up just having to install each app from the play store one by one. There may be another way, but I'm not sure how.
Hi all,
got my new Mediapad m3 lite 10 today. It is planned to use this device as a family device, and so each one of us would like to have its own account at this pad. But I can't find the setting to set this up :silly:
My Pad is a BAH-W09 with Software BAH-W09C100B022
Thanks, jennix

Hi!
Same problem with my pad bah-l09
I was searching yesterday for apps, which can deliver these functionality to this device, but i only found apps which are cloning other apps to use them in parallel and/or with different accounts, but thats not what i want. Other apps like SwitchMe (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fahrbot.apps.switchme&hl=de&rdid=fahrbot.apps.switchme) require root access, which also isn't available at this time i think. Are there any other app which can build user profiles at this tablet?
cheers, jennix
I got a response from the Huawei-Support and they told me that the M3 Lite 10 is not meant to get multi-user - support. :/
WTF!!! I was considering buying that tablet because it seemed to neatly fit my needs. However that Huawei unnecessarily(!) stripped off Android's build in multi-user capability for a tablet(!) is almost a complete KO criterion. I wanted to use it amongst other stuff to install different users for my wife and me so we both could check our emails independantly - what an overly rare and complex task! If the tablet can't handle that scenario it's almost useless for me. :-/
I'm really a bit sick'n'tired of hoping some day someone will find a new trick to root phone AB, someone will find the time to build a new recovery for phone CD and someone will be able to compile a working current Android version for phone EF in order to unleash the full capability of some hardware I own. Think I should switch back into search mode, throw in a couple of bucks more and get a M$ tablet without some artificially cripled firmware and instead the guarantee to sustain a current software version with all relevant bug and security fixes during the product's life time...
I just got my M3 tab today, noticed this same problem.
Checked from google and found this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ultiaccount&rdid=com.excelliance.multiaccount
Installing this shows warning about virus, so deleted instally.
Could someone check if this is really virus or false alarm?
Hm, install a Chinese app to get a single second user as a poor replacement for something that's build in but has been willfully ablated by the manufacturer - I wouldn't be willing to do that...
I've got a NGP that ive rooted and sideloaded a bunch of apps on. I'm really happy with it so far but what I'm really hoping for is two things, does anyone have experience or info on getting Gapps working or a norefresh/A2 refresh mode mod either standalone apk or xposed module? I've done exhaustive searching but have been unable to find anything much when it comes to the NGP.
Thanks,
Ryan C
A2 dosen't exist yet
Hi dull1554,
I too am trying for months to find A2/no refresh mode, and also posted on various forums with no luck.
I am pretty sure it's technically possible, since the device uses E-ink controller which supports A2 on other devices, i also tried to look into the Android OS files and found files that suggest that A2 does exist on the Nook Glowlight+.
looks like we need a pro android developer to help us here.
please update if you have better luck than me.
thanks!
Hi,
I am considering to buy a Mi Band 5. But I am definitely not going to use the MiFit app, as I don't want to share my health data (or any data, for that matter) with a Chinese company.
So I was looking at Notify & Fitness. I understand that in the past you needed to use a modified MiFit app to obtain some Auth code. I could certainly do that if necessary, using some old, empty, rooted Android phone.
But on the current Play Store page of N&F it says "All Mi Bands 1,2,3,4,5 supported. No official app needed". They even claim that N&F can do firmware updates.
Can anyone here confirm this? Have the N&F people figured out how to pair the device without the AuthKey / completely without MiFit? This almost sounds too good to be true. Even less plausible seems the firmware update claim.
And while we are at it, does N&F allow controlling Android music apps from the Mi Band (in my case, Shuttle+ music player)?
Thanks a lot, and Cheers,
rh

I have just purchased a Mi Smart Band 5 purely for the heart rate and sleep data for Google Fit and I don't like the idea of the data being shared with a Chinese company.
The initial install of the MiFit app seems to suggest you don't need to sign up for a Mi account and offers FaceBook & Google as options, however neither of these work and I get a message saying this isn't available in my region (UK). So I set up a Mi account just to play around with it. It all seems to work OK and it connects to Google Fit and provides the sleep & heart rate data.
I installed the Notify & Fitness app from the Play Store, however it just doesn't work. I have tried with the MiFit app installed as well as without it (using the Mod'd MiFit app to get the AuthKey). It just doesn't connect. The guide on the website - http://forum.mibandnotify.com/discussion/184/band-is-not-connecting-pairing-and-sync-solutions doesn't help at all. It seems to suggest my band isn't genuine?
In the Notify settings it shows the correct MAC address but says 'Band Identifier -1 - Unknown device'. None of the tests in the Notify app work - i.e. display text, vibrate etc.
I have tried three different phones (Pixel 4XL with stock Android 11, a Samsung Galaxy S6 and a S6 Edge running the Pixel Experience Android 10 ROM) and its the same behaviour on all of them.
Its as if the app doesn't have access to bluetooth?
I'll keep playing around with it but its not looking good.
EDIT: I downloaded an earlier version of Notify & Fitness for Mi Band from a mirror site (10.1.4) as opposed to the latest version on the Play Store (10.3.8) and this worked first time. It looks like the app was only updated on the Play Store yesterday so I suspect there is a bug,....

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. :good:
Can you confirm that it is possible to setup the MB5 without ever installing MiFit? Thanks again!

No, I think you need to go through the process at least once.....
(DISCLAIMER: This thread is a repost, I don't know how to move my old thread from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/developing-wear-os-apps-for-ticwatch-gtx.4233191/ to this topic)
Hi there, I just recently bought a Ticwatch GTX, thinking it was installed with Wear OS, but turns out it was installed with a proprietary OS made by Mobvoi (I know... I'm really not careful). The reason why I bought the watch in the first place was to create Wear OS apps with it, but after buying it, I can't even find out how to enable ADB debugging... I've tried clicking each item listed in the Settings page (there is no Build number) 10 times, and none of them triggered a response or a toast message. Any help is appreciated.
I would assume it doesn't support ADB, and even if it does it has only 16MB storage which is probably all filled up by the OS and built-in apps, so I doubt you would be able to fit any other app there.
I found that both the ticwatch s2 and the e2 is priced at only $119.99 now, which is insanely cheap for a Wear OS watch, so you could get one of them, or you could get a refurbished Sport or Express for only 2 dollars more than the gtx.
I also found your post in the ticwatch forum and there you mentioned that this is for an assignment. I can se why you would want a physical device to test on if you are going to make several apps and publish them, but if it's only for an assignment I would think that using an emulator would be good enough
