Without a doubt, one of the most striking features of the new OPPO Find X5 Pro is the super high-resolution display. This phone is packing 1440x3216 pixels in its AMOLED screen while supporting features like HDR+ and 120Hz. There are many different ways to take advantage of the display technology built into this phone, and plenty of settings to make adjustments to your liking. Let's go over all of the best things about the display on the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
High Resolution / High Frame RateYour videos and photos will look better than ever with the 1440x3216 resolution screen on this phone. I've been watching 4K HDR content from YouTube, to test the quality and the results are pretty stunning. If you have this phone, try loading up a video like "8k Ultra HD “Neon Light” HDR Dolby Vision". You'll be very impressed with the level of detail you're able to see, despite the fact that you're using a mobile display.

A 120Hz display has become standard for the Find Pro series, and we see it once again in this phone. ColorOS 12.1 looks very nice as you navigate through the system with buttery smoothness. Try to find some games that support the 120Hz screen to get the best gaming experience on a mobile device. You can change the refresh rate in the settings menu. You can choose between 120Hz or 60Hz. Select the 60Hz option when you need to save your battery power.
01 Ultra Vision EngineThe 01 Ultra Vision Engine enables several useful features related to your display. An image sharpener option will enhance the clarity of low-quality images and videos. This does increase your battery usage a bit, so take that into consideration if you're going to toggle it on.
The video color enhancer is designed to convert SDR media into HDR, as it widens the color gamut for a superb visual experience. When you enable this, there will be certain apps that can take advantage of this feature. Try Amazon Prime Video, Instagram, TikTok, and more to experience videos with the color enhancer feature.
Bright HDR video mode will recognize when you are playing HDR videos and turn the screen brightness up. This is important because the main ingredient to being able to experience HDR content is having a super bright display. I always leave this setting on, but be aware that your phone can get a little hot when it's in use.
PersonalizationsA few fun personalizations in ColorOS 12.1 let you customize the way your display behaves when you receive notifications or use the Always-On Display. Since this screen is AMOLED, you don't have to worry about the entire thing illuminating, just to show you a notification. I like to use the edge lighting feature to let me know when I get notifications and calls. This will light up the edges of your phone with a pulsating color of your choice. It has a really nice effect and is a subtle way to have a notification alert when your phone is on silent.
How are you enjoying the screen on your OPPO Find X5 Pro so far? Let me know in the comments!

OPPO is punching out some excellent displays.
Maybe exceeding Samsung's newest flagships.
All variable refresh rate displays suffer from color calibration problems to some degree as they are by nature extremely hard to calibrate.
The display is identical to my find x2 pro including the brightness levels when I compared it to my find x5 pro so they have not changed much in terms of visuals.

The only difference their display has on paper is the resolution ppi density - 525 on Find X5 Pro vs the 513 on Find X2 Pro. I would think that means it shows crisper images?

On paper yes there is difference ppi which should result in sharper image but I the real world hard to see. Eg s22 ultra has 500ppi and the Sony xperia 1s have always had over 600ppi.
The screen suppose to be slightly brighter on the new x5 pro compared to my find x2 pro and the pixelworks image

I am very excited to have received the OPPO Find X5 Pro in Ceramic White. My model has 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM. I have been using this new phone for two full weeks now, as my primary device. This is my review of the OPPO Find X5 Pro.
Build Quality / DesignWhen unboxing your phone for the first time, you’ll instantly notice the bold new design choice which features sloped edges around the camera bump. It gives the phone a very fluid look, as if it’s water flowing down from the peak of the device, and runs off the edges. The back of the phone is made of a premium ceramic material which has a very high-end feel to it. This quality extends to the buttons, with very solid and clicky interactions.

The white model that I have has a lot of contrast between the lettering on the back, against the milk-like surface. I really like the way this phone looks and feels, overall.
Performance / GamingUnsurprisingly, this phone is very fast. Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and paired with 12GB of RAM, this phone is pretty maxed out in terms of specs. ColorOS 12.1 is faster and more responsive than ever. Games and apps launch quickly while being able to make 3D graphics look amazing.
I ran a benchmark on my phone to hopefully give a better idea of how fast this phone really is.
One of my favorite games to play is PUBG, which also happens to be one of the most resource-intensive 3D games for Android. When I play on my OPPO Find X5 Pro, I'm able to run the game at the max settings, while maintaining a steady 120fps. This smooth gameplay looks fantastic on the 120hz display. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 does an impressive job of processing 3D graphics and rendering large open worlds.
Best ColorOS Features
ColorOS 12.1 ships as the default software on the OPPO Find X5 Pro. The included software has many features built-in that make customizing your phone fun and simple. One of the best ways to show off your personal style is with Always-On Display. You can create a custom pattern, text, and clock style to appear on your phone. My Always-On Display shows my three favorite bird emojis, a jellyfish photo that I took at the aquarium, and the time and date in the format that I choose.
Everyone values their privacy and security, which is why I really appreciate some of the features like App lock, Hide apps, Private Safe, and System cloner. Using the ColorOS privacy tools, you can even shut off your camera or microphone so that they cannot be used by any apps or services at all. Your privacy dashboard gives you a quick overview of all of the apps that are collecting data like camera, microphone, location, etc.
ColorOS is filled with great features that will enhance your use of your smartphone. Included apps like O Relax and Music Party are worth checking out as well.
Camera ReviewTo put the camera of the OPPO Find X5 Pro to the test, I took it to my local aquarium, where I could use it in a variety of different lighting situations. There are several key camera modes that I find myself using the most, which provide more flexibility with the way I edit and share my photos.
If I am shooting photos that I intend to edit on my computer, I use the RAW PLUS feature. This will let me capture RAW photos with tons of data. When I want to use the 2X camera or shoot with NIGHT mode, I’ll activate the 10-bit color feature instead. I can easily edit these photos with the ColorOS editing tools, while still preserving the color data of a photo. The last mode that I use frequently is the standard PHOTO mode with AI scene enhancements on. This is best for shots that I intend to post straight to social media, and don’t want to worry about edits or file size issues.
There are a lot of features to explore with this phone and different ways to take advantage of the powerful sensors in the front and rear cameras. Here is a full view of the camera specs of this phone.
Rear:
50MP Main Camera: f/1.7; FOV 80°; 1G6P lens
50MP Ultra-wide Angle Camera: f/2.2; FOV 112°; 7P lens
13MP Telephoto Camera: f/2.4; FOV 45°; 5P lens
Front:
32MP Front Camera: f/2.4; FOV 90°; lens: 5P
ConclusionThe OPPO Find X5 Pro feels like a very polished device. The introduction of the 80W SuperVOOC charging definitely changes the way you use and charge your phone. The cameras are some of the best that you’ll find in any smartphone, and inspire you to take more photos using features that make the whole process simple and fun. The performance is fast enough that you’ll be able to use this phone for years to come and be perfectly happy with the speed at which it runs apps and games.
I am very excited to continue to explore the capabilities of my OPPO Find X5 Pro, as I show off its design and Ceramic White color.

Build Quality & Design ::
OPPO Find X5 Truly caters the Word Flagship and it Uses Super Premium Materials and it feels great to hold it on hands and its almost the right size. Not so big,not so small. The Size and the choice is screen size is very much apt for Personal Movie Experience
Performance & Screen ::
Im never into Gaming so Let me give you a glimpse on the Performance from my personal experience while i was using it for a short while.
Oppo Find X5, phone is powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor, paired with Practical 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, App Launch including Photoshop,Lightroom and Snapseed are Super Fast and theres no Lag in Import,Processing and Export too. Handles Large files with Ease.
Oppo Finx X5 has an 6.55 Inch Amoled Screen with HDR 10+ and Supports 120 Hz. The 120 Hz is a Bliss while reading but it consumes more battery than the regular 60 Hz Mode. i Preferred to use 60 Hz as Default. It has a resolution of FHD at 2400x1080 and is bright enough to be used comfortably outdoors with 500 nits, it can be boosted to 800 nits, i tried using it under direct sunlight and i could manage to use it without any problem.
Battery ::
The Battery has 4800 Mah which is like very practical, with the Supported 80W SuperVOOC Charger the charging time is Super Fast and i could attain 3% to 100% in about 40 Mins. Put up on a charger head for the shower and when you are back you should get a days charge up and running if u are a casual user.
Speakers ::
The Stereo Speakers are quite impressive, the sound through ringtones and song ringtones are rather clean than loud. I Personally prefer this rather than loud jarring speakers from the ones i used earlier.
Color OS ::
Color OS is quite New to me and Its close to Stock OS. Thats one of the Favorite thing for me. The main Settings menu features Oppo's colorful icons for easier navigation. Android 12's new privacy features are implemented. You get a summary of all the apps that use your data, location, camera, microphone, etc., all in one place. It's called Privacy Dashboard and is something like Digital Wellbeing but privacy-focused. Most of the UI elements on ColorOS can be customized. We are talking deep customization of app icons, accent colors, quick toggles and their shape, font, fingerprint reader animation, Edge lighting for incoming notifications0, of course, the Always-on display.
Camera ::
Lets Begin Talking about the Most Important and The Favorite Part From OPPO X5. i.e The Camera
Selfie Camera ::
A 32 MP Selfie Camera With F2.4 Aperture. This should be very much okay for most users as it can convincingly make good portraits with Decent bokeh effect. The Skin Tones are quite real and theres no artificial bleaching.
The Main Cameras ::
Find X5 relies on Two 50M Sony IMX766, 1/1.56", 1.0µm sensors for its Main and Ultra-wide cameras. Both sensors support multi-directional PDAF, of course. Their lenses are what sets them apart. They use uses a 13MP, 1/3.4" sensor paired with f/2.4 aperture for Telephoto. Thanks to the Hasselblad Tuning and MariSilicon Neural Processing Unit. The Results are outstanding. The Videos Has Pro Mode & 5 Axis Stabilization which almost reduces the Use of the Gimbal and we do have HDR Log Mode to Record video for Greater Post production Compatibility.
I Have been using this Camera From 5AM in the Morning to 1 AM in Midnight and the best part i like about the Camera is Super Fast and Accurate Focus in most Conditions. I Have used it under Various conditions From Harsh Sunrise to Blazing Light Trails
Some Studio Portrait Samples ::
Some Architecture Samples ::
Twilight Samples ::
Long Exposure Samples ::
These Were Mounted on a Tripod.
Some Night Scape Samples ::
Conclusion ::
Overall Im Very Happy with the Phone as My Primary use is Photos,Videos and Social Media and Sometimes Photo Processing and The Phone Does the Job in a Fantastic Manner. If you are Someone who wants a Daily No Nonsense Phone which can Shoot some Wonderful Photos, Then you should Consider Oppo Find X5 or Oppo Find X5 Pro

Build Quality/ DesignOnce glance at it, OPPO Find X5 Pro's back design looks very characteristic, you can easily recognize it from another smartphones. It is one of the most beautiful designed smartphones I have seen, its streamline design feels very natural, compare with glass, the new OPPO Find X5 Pro rear is made of ceramic material which is more gentle, warmer and reliable.
Here is my OPPO Find X5 Pro unboxing video:
Performance/GamingFor today’s mobile phone products, the screen display become more important. OPPO Find X5 Pro’s screen is a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, very high resolution 1440 x 3216, with this display we can have a good contrast and nice color. And up to 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, this higher refresh rate display makes moving content looks smoother, also makes a big difference when it coming to gaming. when I am playing League of Legends: Wild Rift and Brawl Stars, it can handle very well, and also you hardly to find the rear is hot it because of ceramic material that can maintain effective cooling under game pressure.
League of Legends: Wild Rift
Brawl StarsBest ColorOS FeaturesOPPO Find X5 Pro has a huge range of customization options, I particularly like the Always-On Display function, Adaptive Sleep function and Air Gestures function. For example, I use Air Gestures function to switch the channel when I play TikTok, no need to touch the panel.
Camera ReviewOPPO Find X5 Pro camera system equipped with MariSilicon X chip and co-developed with Hasselblad, as a photographer I will be more expecting the camera performance. The coolest thing is to check out the flagship sensor on triple cameras, wide and ultra-wide with 50 megapixels cameras, telephoto with 13 megapixels camera, so we can have a pretty decent improvement in low light performance and significantly 4k ultra night video.
I've spent two weeks to test the OPPO Find X5 Pro camera performance mainly in 3 situations.
1. To test camera performance in difference period, such as to capture in the daytime, sunset & night.
2. To test camera performance in difference environment, such as to capture in outdoor or indoor.
3. To test camera performance in difference subject, such as landscape, nature and food.
Here are OPPO Find X5 Pro two sample videos took in Singapore,
1. 4K 2160P 60fps Merlion Park day walk:
2. 4K 2160P 60fps Marina Bay night walk:
When you open the camera, you can easily to see a Hasselblad orange shutter button and when you press the shooting button, a Hasselblad shutter sound will be heard.
SLR-Level-5-Axis Image Stabilization
This time OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with a real 5-axis optical image stabilization, this new stabilization technology can occur on 5 different levels and let it reach DSLR-level. If you are using DSLR cameras, you probably know how useful and powerful the 5-axis stabilization is to taking picture or doing videography in low light environment.
It can improve stability, sharpness and color performance, to produces a perfect night photos and videos, even though at the image corners, it also can provide a good quality.
OFF
ONUltra HDR Photography
Usually I will on HDR AUTO setting that phone will detect the environment and use HDR automatically, when I shoot in HDR mode, the camera takes several pictures in quick succession, each having a different exposure value. The phone inside software then merges the images into a single photo.
Compare with non-HDR photo, HDR photo provides sharper details from the darkest and brightest areas.

Hello everyone,
If you follow me, you have already read this post here.
For those not, here is a little sum up.
I am one of the lucky ones to get my hand on an OPPO Find X5, thanks to OPPO and its OPPO Products Ambassadors program.
And it's the first time for me as I have never had any OPPO before. So first, no expectations, no biases; I will give a chance to the product. ColorOS, UX, build quality, everything will push me to adapt and indeed change the way I use my daily driver smartphone.
I received the black variant in its EU variant while I am in the USA. So, yep, you guess it right, no point for me to test it under USA networks. It will work under AT&T and T-Mobile, not fully compatible with all band frequencies, 5G, or even CA. But it works enough and is compatible with VoWiFi and VoLTE.

Let's Go!
Build Quality and Design
One design to rule them all… Find X3, X3 Pro, X5, X5 Pro. Indeed, the design is pretty close between 2021 and 2022 Flagship. Except for an evolution of the photographic block, you can tell it's a Find X.

You can check more photos of the OPPO Find X5 here or here.
The black color is a matte one. It seems not to retain fingerprints, is easy to clean, and the texture feel is excellent.
I'm used to big phones; obviously, this one feels light, small in my hand. It is well balanced, and buttons are easy to access with your fingers, responsive, clicky, and the power button got the OPPO Green color accentuation on its top. Corners are smooth and round, with no sharp angles, and the screen curves are not of the waterfall type, just enough with a bumper case. It might even be less curvy than the P6 Pro. However, I am a fan of flat screens and slim chassis. But I can go with this X5.
When I searched for differences between the X3 and the X5, I saw the bump and how OPPO integrated the photographic block on the X3 series. I will say I prefer the X5 bump, and it's classier. And OPPO also uses it to write down the "Powered by MariSilicon" on the back glass and Hasselblad partnership on the back cover.
The back cover is made with a frosting matte glass, if you ask. The slope is a 75°. OPPO stated it is the optimal curve for "illuminating (sic)" the OPPO Find X5 body in sunlight or shadow. Okay, maybe, I'll use the case you can find in the box anyway.
Performance
Snapdragon 888 baby. An end of 2020 announced flagship SoC made by Qualcomm.
Is it enough for 2022?
Sure, you just need to look around and see how many SD 870 products you have, brand new, in 2022. So, the 888 will give you what you need for daily use.
I'm getting old, so gaming on the phone… Arf, let's face it, I am not a COD, Genshin, whatever game. However, yes, editing videos, making music, this kind of stuff.
The Snapdragon 888 is working well. But if you're a fan of benchmark and think it's the Graal for smartphones, you will be disappointed. I don't know where I'm doing wrong, but I never was able to go over 745K under AnTuTu. I have other SD 888 smartphones that easily break the 820K scoring. And even my P6 Pro does better. And in every benchmark, the X5 is behind.
Obviously, you have different modes for the battery, for performance, and even a gaming control center. Everything was maxed out to get the best results possible.
Any CPU/GPU Governor inside ColorOS to prevent throttling? Allow the phone to run at its best for long session hours? ColorOS need to be finetuned to unleash SD 888 Power or even driver updated?
After more than one year on the market, I expect OEMs to be able to draw the powerful quintessence of this chipset… And so far, I don't think it is the case. There is room for improvement.
For the 6.55" 120Hz panel, I must say it's closed to the 144hz I used on my Smartphone for Snapdragon Insiders. I didn't feel any issue with it; it's responsive and no mistouch so far. The screen is a 10bit panel with a JNCD around 0.4 for color accuracy. You can usually tune it in the setting for your own convenience. Personally, I am not too fond of saturated colors, and I need to see precisely the same thing on the screen as I see in real life, especially for taking pictures.
After that, as always, it will depend on 3rd party dev apps to make their apps and games compatible with the 90 or 120fps capability of the X5.
However, the screen is not LPTO but just LPTS/Flexible (Low-Temperature PolySilicon). And yes, AMOLED not LCD.
So, no dynamic refresh rate from 1hz to 120Hz. And no 90Hz option, just 60 or 120Hz. Plus, if you settle your screen this way, I've not found any MEMC enhancement to match 120Hz with 24/25/30/60 or 90 fps to 120Hz refresh rate (and if I check, the Find X2 had one).
If you ask, the touch sampling is only 240Hz, a little bit low as now flagships have 360/480hz on board.
But it's Gorilla Victus for the protection of it.
Brightness is sufficient even for HDR. It's not 1500 nits peak but more around 900/1000 for an expected 500/800 day-to-day (if I compare with the ones I've and marketed for some brightness values)
I will need to go to a second part 2 to continue as XDA only allows 20 attachments.

Part 3
Again, thank you OPPO and @OPPO Ambassador Team for this opportunity.
Welcome to part 2 of my review

Features
When it comes to features, there are just so many to list and many of them are useful such as
Multi-Screen Connect: As OPPO puts it, you can quickly transfer files between your PC and phone. Edit documents saved on your phone from your PC. Receive phone notifications on your PC. This is definitely handy as now I don’t need to look at my phone when I’m working, whenever I receive notifications on my phone, I can interact it from my PC.
Gestures: There are a plethora of gestures and motions you can use to make day to day usage very easy: Swipe down with 3 fingers to take a screenshot, air gestures, if your hand is not clean or its wet, you can do wave your hand to answer a call or scroll through YouTube. Continuing with gestures, you can assig some gestures whilst the screen is turned off i.e. draw the letter v to turn the torch light on which is very inconvenient instead of having to unlock the phone, swipe the notification shade and then enabling the torch. You can also set it up so it opens an app of your choice.

Personalisation: Here you can customise your phone which includes:
Wallpapers: which also includes live wallpapers.
Always-On Display: this is where the user can see information such as date, time, and notifications when the screen is off.
Themes: Here you can download many premade themes from the online store or individual aspects such as fonts, wallpapers, live wallpapers or video ringtones.
Icons: You can select the icon style from OPPO’s default, Material Style, Pebble or Custom where you can change the shape and whether to show app names or not.
There is also other options that fingerprint animation and edge lighting (for notification)
Camera
It seems OPPO is really focused on the camera this time round, so much so that now the Find X series has a 6nm Imaging NPU called MariSilicon X. OPPO says that it features the best-in-class power efficiency, 20 bit ultra-high dynamic range, real-time RAW processing, and Enhanced RGBW Pro Mode. It will enable high-quality 4K AI Night Video and live preview on Android smartphones for the first time. To take things further, OPPO has partnered up with Hasselblad to refine the camera prowess.
The triple camera set-up consists of 50MP main and ultra-wide lenses (Sony IMX 766), 13MP 2x zoom telephoto lens, and a 32MP selfie camera. The cameras have 5-Axis Optical Image Stabilization SLR-level technology which helps with taking photos and videos whilst you’re on the move.
I have taken lots of photos and they all turned out excellent, you can see lots of details. Portrait photos are also really, good probably the best I have seen yet. Night photography is also impressive as well as the 4k Ultra Night Video.
Battery Life
The OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with a MASSIVE 5000mAh battery that is higher than that of the Xiaomi 12 Pro Galaxy S22. I have found the battery life to last me easily over 1 day and with Super power saving mode, that can be extended to 2 days! As for the charging speed, it charged from being fully drained to 100% in just 36 minutes. This mainly thanks to the 80w SuperVooc charger that is included in the box. I don’t have the wireless charger which is dubbed as AirVooC, but its charges at 50w, that’s better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s wired 45w charger.
Conclusion
Overall I have to say this phone impressed me a lot, I mean why wouldn’t it? It has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU, excellent main camera, massive 5000mAh battery with really fast charging. It has a beautiful 6.7” QHD+ AMOLED display which is a joy for media consumption. ColorOS12 has come really far, it doesn’t feel really heavy at all, no noticeable lag and everything is just so though out. The cameras are excellent, just point and click and you get great photos.
Having said all of that, It is slighty on the pricey side but I think this a great alternative to the Galaxy S22 series.
