One of the most hyped features of the OPPO Find X5 Pro is the HASSELBLAD camera. The MariSilicon X NPU is a new feature premiering in this phone, which uses a dedicated processor that improves your photos. I took my phone out to take some photos using a variety of different camera modes. I'll post some of the results in this thread.
The camera main camera is made up of the following sensors:
50 MP main camera (Sony IMX766 1/1.56″, f/1.7, 10 bit, 1G6P lens, FOV 80°),
50 MP Ultra-wide-angle (Sony IMX766 1/1.56″, f/2.2, 10 bit),
13 MP telephoto camera (Samsung S5K3M5, f/2.4)
50MP ShotsFor the sake of file size, 50MP photos are not enabled by default. If you want to take full advantage of the large 50MP sensor, just select the "50 MP' option at the top of the camera app, when in PHOTO mode. 50MP shots are only available in PHOTO and HI-RES camera modes. These shots are unedited, aside from resizing to fit in this thread. The image on the left is the full shot, and the image on the right is a cropped and zoomed version of the same photo.

PORTRAITPortrait mode is designed to mimic the shallow depth of field effect that you get from DSLR and mirrorless cameras. You can adjust the f-stop on the OPPO Find X5 Pro camera to get the right amount of background blur for your shot. When you're photographing people, you have the option of detecting one or two people. The camera will keep your subjects in focus while blurring everything else. This shooting mode is also effective on regular objects like the ones in these photos.
10-bit colorThis option is able to be activated in the settings menu. 10-bit color can be used with Photo and Night modes, using the rear camera. Any photos taken with this setting will be saved as .HEIF files. These types of files are meant to be used with professional editing software. This is a great option for anyone that does extensive edits to their photos and wants to preserve as much color data as possible. If you don't want to use third-party software to edit your shots, the standard ColorOS 12 photo editing tools can recognize and edit these file types.
This first shot is unedited. You'll notice the harsh shadows in the bottom half of the photo.
This second photo is the result of my edit, using the ColorOS 12 photos app. I attempted to balance the lighting throughout the photo, by bringing up the shadows and lowering the contrast. You'll notice that a lot of color data is still present, even in darker parts of the photo.
Standard PHOTO ModeThis is the default mode that you'll have when you start up the camera for the first time. This mode saves photos in the .jpg file type and shoots at a resolution of 4096x3072.
So what do you think of these photo samples from the OPPO Find X5 Pro? Feel free to share some of your best shots in the comments.
[Thank you to OPPO for supporting this thread]
The details on your images are . Have you tried their 4K Ultra Night and Long exposure? Been looking to see how the long exposure improves or makes a difference.
I heard oppo will. Release a new software to. Update the camera performance say compared to Samsung s22 ultra which has a lot more detail in the shots, when compared to oppo find x5 pro.
Do you know if this is true?

How would you able to take good shots on X10?
Why is it blurred or like my pics is taken on an Iphone cam. Too much noise etc and not good. It's like I'm using a VGA or 0.3 cam.
Can you guys advice me a good settings or tips to make the cam better
TIA
I got the same issue, the pic taken by X10 is worse than X1 (8M VS 3M)

a few mine findings on x10 camera..
when is enough light there is no problem, auto settings is good.
when taking pic indors but with enougt light use sport setting, then pic will not be blured (same for video) coz exposure time is shorter, but if there is not enough light pic will be tooo dark with sport setting, then use defaul setting and try to keep phone steady as you can while focusing and while pressing key and second after that..
i got great results
Pics
Personally, I find the camera fantastic (until you zoom right, right in). It almost seems like they've used a 4mp camera and doubled the res as the pixels seem very blocky close up.
I'll upload when i can!
I never changed the settings or MP nor cam I enabled photo light too on some shots.
Example of a very good light condition is my laptop. you see its disgusting. the light is from bulb that is very good, and yet I get a crappy pics even with image stabilizer on
i've also noticed that image stabiliser make pic even worse, with that option i got less details, washed out colours...
Man those pictures look like NOTHING my X10 makes. You are either the worst photographer or there's something wrong here. Here's a few I made with my X10:
I've had no problems with the camera either.. i've really good quality photos with the X10. the only i have is the ease of access to the flash
Any tips? I'm bad at photography I know that that's why I'm asking for what settings what things do to etc.?

EV -7 when is too much light.
EV -3 in "normal" conditions
Always keep the sun behind you.
Also, depending what you shoot you can change the metering.
Well, my X10i also takes great pictures, and i usually use automatic settings. Here are some samples (I resized image size, just click the thumbnails):
Yeah those things bugs me
The metering too.
What should I set to this center average?
Well, my X10 also takes good pictures, one thing i noticed on your shots is that they're not focused and all blurry, did you wait until the focus was alright ? (when semi pressing the camera button, the focus in the middle of the screen should become green or red if it thinks the focus is not good enough)
Also, for close-up shots you should definitely enable macro mode.
here's an example i just took of a 20ct coin, with low lighting :
(unfortunately i can't give any higher res pic since i can't post links :/)
I had blurry pictures when I first got my x10.. but after setting the camera to "Scene Reognition" under Capturing Mode, it fixed all the problems. Hope that helps
i use touch fokus and now take better pictures
i have the same problem as gr3yh0und
and i dont know what to do ?!!
please someone tell me the ebst setting for camera
My pictures are too soft.
Way too soft.
I will have to give it a try without image stabilization to see if it makes a difference.
Here's a low-light shot from tonight... Went to the Airport park.
It's geotagged correctly on flickr as well.

Gcam is not working on xperia devices as it is not camera2api compatible. Here is a good comparison video with OnePlus 6 and you can find many more comparisons of xz2 on this channel. Enjoy!
I got GCam working for my XZ2, without root. But I forgot where to download it. The link is somewhere in XZ2 compact's thread.
Back-lit mode, hdr auto and hdr+ (gcam)
Hello, since XZ2 doesn't have an auto HDR feature as some other manufacturers (name samsung, HTC, LG,...) I am wondering how superior auto is doing in back-lit scenes? Does the back-lit scene in intelligent auto makes it for the exclusion of a force (auto) HDR option? I have a Z5 compact now and its dynamic range is pretty poor. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
My XZ2 always recognises backlit scenes as Landscape or Backlight but the result is great, I have a sample but I really can't upload it because of how big the size of the pictures.

If i'm not mistaken, when a backlit / landscape icon appear in Superior Auto, auto HDR will be triggered. At least thats what happens in previous Xperia phone. So it does have the auto HDR features.

Which previous Xperia do you mean?
Because on my Z5 compact I don't think that's the case.. The Z5 series camera didn't have a good reputation anyway, but I especially noticed a huge gap to the best ones in unevenly lit scenes.. With the backlit situations, it depends where your focus is - if you want defined clouds and sunset on your photo, then the foreground is gonna be too dark, or properly exposed foreground is gonna lead to overblown highlights (white sky without clouds). As far as I saw, XZ2 also suffers in highly uneven outdoor scenarios, and has IMO worse dynamic range than on Google or HTC.
LG and apple for example show when the HDR is triggered automatically when shooting in auto mode, in real time before taking a photo, and I think Sony should do it too if they offer auto HDR.
IMX 400 is hardwerwise definitely able to do so... If it can shoot moving objects before you press shutter button (predictive capture) then they could also do multiple-frame exposures in real time before taking a photo IMO.. Which maybe they do, I REALLY hope so.
However, sometimes I prefer less dynamic range and higher contrasts.. Pixel 2's or U12+'s photos sometimes have too little contrast for me due to bringing down highlights and/or boosting shadows too much.. At the end it's a trade off nevertheless I think every phone should have had an auto HDR these days.
I realized that the zoom is not just a crop of the original photo, it has a process to soften the image.
I leave an example.
Original, crop and 8x zoom.
The recently unveiled HONOR 20 PRO seamlessly integrates four rear sensors that allows for basically any conceivable shooting scenario including night photography, ultra-wide angle, telephotography and macro photography. It was also accorded 111 points by DxOMark, the 2nd highest score attained by any smartphone, the gold standard benchmark for camera quality in the industry. Above all is the HONOR 20 PRO’s exceptional night photography capabilities, which is demonstrated below simply by comparing the same image taken under different lighting.

As you can see, the differences are staggering. HONOR 20 PRO continues to outperform its competitors under low-light conditions, capturing images in ultra clarity. Let us delve into the shooting process and look into detailed analyses to understand HONOR’s superior night photography.
1. Analyzing the Photo-taking Process
To conduct the test, we first identified our shooting location. We made sure it was as dark as night, so it was virtually impossible to see with a naked eye. This is a sample photo of the results you’d achieve with our counterparts’ flagship smartphones.
With the HONOR 20 PRO, all we did was aim at the object and tap the shutter, choosing the default mode without any professional AI processing. Despite the poor lighting, the HONOR 20 PRO captured the object perfectly.
The HONOR 20 PRO is no doubt your most trust-worthy partner. All you need to do is tap on the shutter and know that you will get a perfect photo even in low-light environments. You do not even need bulky gadgets such as a tripod, which is often used to stabilize the camera for long-exposure photography.
2. Analyzing Photo Specifications
We did a comprehensive analysis of HONOR 20 PRO’s images. Uncover HONOR’s two secrets to night photography with us through its exceptional specifications!
The HONOR 20 PRO features an F/1.4 aperture, the largest ever on a smartphone. It guarantees an average of an additional 50 % light reception, when compared with the standard F/1.8 aperture commonly seen on the market – the more light a lens can receive, the better the image resolution and quality.
The ultra-high ISO of 102,400 is also worth highlighting, since the ISO of images taken on other smartphones merely reach 1250.
A higher ISO value can effectively increase the brightness of the picture, but it has a down side: prominent noise. Therefore, most smartphones limit the ISO value within 10,000. The HONOR 20 PRO, however, has a maximum ISO value of 204, 800, which is more than 20 times higher than other smartphones on the market.
More importantly, there is limited noise in pictures taken by the HONOR 20 PRO. Despite its ultra-high ISO, the image is kept crisp and precise. HONOR confirmed that it applies a unique algorithm to achieve such an ultra-high ISO value, only supported on Huawei and HONOR smartphones.
Some may question why flashlight photography isn’t used instead. In fact, flash itself can be problematic when lighting is uneven or when the object is too up-close. There are many limitations to flashlight photography. For instance, you won’t be able to use flash to capture an infant’s smile when he is asleep. Likewise, it may not be appropriate if you are at a museum trying to get a close-up of an exhibit.
HONOR 20 PRO manages to deliver fine-quality photos under extreme testing conditions, demonstrating its efforts in camera hardware and algorithm development. As seen below, results under normal night light also prove to be phenomenal.

The camera is the weakpoint of this phone. For the price you pay for it, I would have expected a much more decent camera.
Attached photo was done in a bright room but you can clearly see that the noise is present and the details of the wooden floor disappear.

I know it's not fair to compare it to a phone that costs the same as almost two s10 lite phones but I'm guessing that the SE 2020 which is on the same level will beat it.
The screen is nice though ...
Honestly fine.
I dont know why people gave this a low rating. I feel like people are expecting to much from Phone camera's.
For an average human being that takes a pics for memories or casual photo albums its more than fine. Enough options to choose from.
I do miss the lack of tap to focus, unless i missed it somewhere in the settings.
Hi people,
The cams are ok in good light situations i think for the price of the phone!
Only in low light situations it will have not so good performance. The aperture is only 2.0 so for that aperture is not so strange. Try to get as much as light as possible and your photo's will be ok!
I have a question, is this camera able to take RAW photos? And can you use a third party app to change the shutter speed?

It's a reaaaally huge difference dude! I am disappointed, I was thinking to get the lite for me, maybe not after see that pics.
One area that the camera impressed with was digital zoom (8x). Daylight pictures from 20 feet away were good. Guess that's one advantage of a high megapixel count.

Also macro is really impressive, i use it al lot and its not disappointing either. As long you have enough light the cams are fine!
got it for 450euro, 128gb, white
for that, i give 4stars. im fine with the camera. macro is surprisingly good. gcam works...whatelse i want?
I pass loll
Seen gcam pictures on youtube, difference night and day on the details and brightness.

Edit:
Now that i have the phone i think its very disappointing, can't make sharp pictures. Whatever camera app i use, zoomed in to the picture its not sharp, compared with ipad pro 2017. Everything is soft. People complain about it allot with s10 series. I didnt expect miracles from this phone but it is just ridiculous if every photo is to soft.

Build Quality/ DesignOnce glance at it, OPPO Find X5 Pro's back design looks very characteristic, you can easily recognize it from another smartphones. It is one of the most beautiful designed smartphones I have seen, its streamline design feels very natural, compare with glass, the new OPPO Find X5 Pro rear is made of ceramic material which is more gentle, warmer and reliable.
Here is my OPPO Find X5 Pro unboxing video:
Performance/GamingFor today’s mobile phone products, the screen display become more important. OPPO Find X5 Pro’s screen is a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel, very high resolution 1440 x 3216, with this display we can have a good contrast and nice color. And up to 120Hz dynamic refresh rate, this higher refresh rate display makes moving content looks smoother, also makes a big difference when it coming to gaming. when I am playing League of Legends: Wild Rift and Brawl Stars, it can handle very well, and also you hardly to find the rear is hot it because of ceramic material that can maintain effective cooling under game pressure.
League of Legends: Wild Rift
Brawl StarsBest ColorOS FeaturesOPPO Find X5 Pro has a huge range of customization options, I particularly like the Always-On Display function, Adaptive Sleep function and Air Gestures function. For example, I use Air Gestures function to switch the channel when I play TikTok, no need to touch the panel.
Camera ReviewOPPO Find X5 Pro camera system equipped with MariSilicon X chip and co-developed with Hasselblad, as a photographer I will be more expecting the camera performance. The coolest thing is to check out the flagship sensor on triple cameras, wide and ultra-wide with 50 megapixels cameras, telephoto with 13 megapixels camera, so we can have a pretty decent improvement in low light performance and significantly 4k ultra night video.
I've spent two weeks to test the OPPO Find X5 Pro camera performance mainly in 3 situations.
1. To test camera performance in difference period, such as to capture in the daytime, sunset & night.
2. To test camera performance in difference environment, such as to capture in outdoor or indoor.
3. To test camera performance in difference subject, such as landscape, nature and food.
Here are OPPO Find X5 Pro two sample videos took in Singapore,
1. 4K 2160P 60fps Merlion Park day walk:
2. 4K 2160P 60fps Marina Bay night walk:
When you open the camera, you can easily to see a Hasselblad orange shutter button and when you press the shooting button, a Hasselblad shutter sound will be heard.
SLR-Level-5-Axis Image Stabilization
This time OPPO Find X5 Pro comes with a real 5-axis optical image stabilization, this new stabilization technology can occur on 5 different levels and let it reach DSLR-level. If you are using DSLR cameras, you probably know how useful and powerful the 5-axis stabilization is to taking picture or doing videography in low light environment.
It can improve stability, sharpness and color performance, to produces a perfect night photos and videos, even though at the image corners, it also can provide a good quality.
OFF
ONUltra HDR Photography
Usually I will on HDR AUTO setting that phone will detect the environment and use HDR automatically, when I shoot in HDR mode, the camera takes several pictures in quick succession, each having a different exposure value. The phone inside software then merges the images into a single photo.
Compare with non-HDR photo, HDR photo provides sharper details from the darkest and brightest areas.
