I have a situation now. When I first got this phone, it was stuck in a firmware that is not from TMK/TMB. Here is what I have vs what it's intended because I don't get any updates since I am stuck on the April 2021 update. It had a Metro By T-Mobile SIM inserted which converted the CSC to TMK (I forgot the original one, but according to the Phone Info app its XAA but the triple code says TMK/TMK/VZW.
Intended TMK/TMB firmware:
G975USQU5GUCG (March 2021 update)
What I got
G975USQU5GUCH (which is Verizon/USC/Comcast/Xfinity only)
However the update for the May 2021 patch is the same:
G975USQU5GUE2
I tried flashing the TMK update but it instantly failed the moment it started (thankfully it didn't break my phone). However, how am I supposed to get the right firmware for the CSC? Thank You...

Hi guys/girls
I joined the beta programming while it was still a thing, and since then I've been stuck on the last beta version released for this model.
When I try to do a software update, it says I am on the latest version, however I have checked and as far as I can tell I am still on a beta version (complete with the beta popup on boot).
I have checked the CSC version and as far as I can tell it is OXA.
One of my friends has an unlocked varient as well (EDIT: it has an ITV CSC code) and he managed to get the official release firmware about a month ago.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I got mine by flashing the stock btu mm complete with a data format per the instructions on sammobile using odin and my pc. As soon as i had the mm software installed and running i got the ota to 7.0. I think it was the btu csc and the format data that made it work. Yesterday i got an ota update to n.
I have a stock G950F, unlocked International Version, purchased thru Amazon. I've been waiting for the Daydream Update, no luck, so I tried to flash the latest Australian ROM, which supposedly has Daydream support, using Odin. Result - phone won't boot, with a message saying I had to reflash original stock ROM using Smart Switch. That did work, but I'm back to no Daydream support.
Should I be able to flash an S8 ROM from another region, and if so how? I don't want to root my phone.
Thx, Gus
Just be patient. But check in setting/apps -- show system apps and see if you can see an app called Google VR services, if you see if you have daydream support
Just, what is your current security patch? July? I'm on July and I have daydream support (Switzerland)
My security patch was June 1, so no Daydream, but .... I figured out what to do. Per comments on forums, I re-flashed the latest Australian ROM with Odin, but used CSC, not Home_CSC, which allows me to change the Region Code (to Australia XSA). Re-flash was successful, the Australian ROM has security patch July 1, and the new ROM does in fact have Daydream support!
My previous region code was DTM (Germany/T-Mobile), not sure why as it is an "unlocked International Version", purchased thru Amazon US, but the phone is in fact unlocked. Hopefully in the future my XSA phone will get OTA updates faster than when it was a DTM phone.
So I have what was originally a VZW 955U, flashed soon after I got it, to the unlocked 955U1 firmware using Prince's Odin and have been happy so far. Now with all the Oreo updates released except for the unlocked one, I'm wondering if I can just use prince's odin again to load the latest TMB Oreo firmware or need to do the whole engboot thing first? My current software is latest Nougat build for 955U1 and shows up as TMB//VZW.
Any thoughts?
No one? I remember reading on some of the earlier threads that if you flashed U1 first, you could then flash to the other carriers versions without the other steps but want to confirm. Don't want to deal with bootloops or softbricks.
I think you need the eng file ..but there is not oreo eng file..
Tried a lot of things, flashing tmobile oreo directly using modified and unmodified odin, trying to flash the latest Nougat builds from Tmobile using Prince Odin (the Dec one almost took and showed up as TMB/TMB/VZW but ultimately would not get updates) and then flashing back to the unlocked version but nothing worked, will likely have to do a full erase and reload the unlocked version. The eng boot file no longer works far as I can tell. Will just have to wait for the unlocked version to get updated. Sucks as this is a corporate phone and my firm has been pushing to get Oreo on all devices.
If someone has a recent guide on carrier switching the S8 , would appreciate it. Most guides here are from May of 2017 and I'm betting those files are too old to be compatible if you're on the latest Dec build for 950U1/955U1. At least doing a full reset and reflash of the 955U1 brought Wifi Calling which wasn't quite working right since I had just flashed over the 955U1 software over the stock verizon last year.
I think I'll just wait a few more weeks for the 955U1 Oreo to drop. Has to happen eventually right? Lol.
Since October 2018 I stopped receiving updates via OTA. I'm thinking about updating the phone with Odin but I don't want to trip Knox so I don't really know what version of the Rom to install.
My S8 is a SM-G950F unlocked with CSC - DBT, that's all I know. And when I check for updates it says: Current version: G950FXUU4CRJ5/G950FOXM4CRJ3/G950FXXU4CRI9.
What rom do I need to flash?

Have you tried manual update in settings?
You could also try Samsung's smart switch to update to latest version.
If you want to download firmware and use Odin then use either sammobile.com or updato.com. or samfirm.
Using Odin to flash official stock rom will not trip your Knox.
I normally use updato for my firmware or samfirm

Latest version I think for Germany DBT is G950FXXU4DSCB ( March ) android version 9 (pie).
I've tried manual update and Smart Switch too and no success. It says I'm on the latest update. I guess I'll try Odin and flash Pie.
I am also facing the same issue. Mine is SM-G950FD. I bought it online, not from official channels. How about you? I have a small suspicion if Samsung is blacklisting phones purchased unofficially. I hope I am wrong.
Well I bought mine from Amazon Germany from a verified seller and for a few months I received updates, but since October 2018 no more. Why would they blacklist my phone?
Sorry. I didn't mean to imply that they are blacklisting. I was just being a bit paranoid thinking may be Samsung blacklisted my phone since I bought it unofficially.
I have a new theory. Looks like many people who bought phones from one country (UAE in particular) had their phone sensors bricked after an OTA update while they were in a different country. That may explain why Samsung is not updating my phone (mine is from UAE).

A while ago, I converted mt ATT SM-G950U to an XAA SM-G950U1. Almost two years later and I'm giving the phone to my mom. The thing is, I can't seem to get system updates working. I flashed the official CRB9 for SM-G950U, I put in an ATT sim card and restarted to get the CSC back to ATT/ATT/ATT, I factory reset after all that one more time, no dice. It just tells me I'm on the latest version already (I'm not, I'm on the Feb 2018 patch) on Oreo (CRB9).
If anyone has any idea why this is happening, please let me know. I haven't touched this device in a long time and I'd like to at least give it to my mom.
MODEL: SM-G950U
VER: G950USQU2CRB9

I would download the latest and flash in latest Odin.
I'm pretty sure the crb9 was near beta so I don't think it would get the official updates if you ever want to root there is a method in the latest bootloader
