[REQ] voip support in stock dialer - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

i have a VNS-L31 with Nougat and i need to use either sim and voip account to make and receive calls, but unfortunally in emui 5.0.4 stock dialer there isn't voip support, and i don't want tu use a separate app for voip (like Zoiper) because this phone will be used by a very old person, and is better she don't make confusion between call mode, it should be tranparent for her.
i tryied to install LOS14 but fail during istallation, and LOS17 works but have a lot of bugs.
anyone can say me which rom have voip support in stock dialer ?

[Q] Stock Dialer w/ VOIP

So I know that research is being done to get voice working over the 3G voice network. Is it possible, however, to install the stock dialer and use it only with VOIP applications (such as GV, which has dialer integration)? I am using skype now; The only problem being that the set up is sort of kludgy at best. The reason I want the stock dialer is such that I have integration with Contacts and Voice Search...

[Q] new voip settings in royal ginger 1.6 (over stock 2.2.1) - works with gvoice?

so i rooted and 085 and flashed RG1.6 which is super. lots of thanks still to all the guys who contribute to this place. really is a great place to learn.
i love the speed and battery life, so i was too happy to look that there are new settings like VOIP in this updated android version (CM build 39 i think this is still based on).
what can i do with that? can i replace the need for a google voice app and somehow get true voip calling now with google voice thru just the OS settings?
also, I have an incoming sipgate number. Would that be able to work with the voip settings built into royal ginger 1.6? If yes, then i dont need sipgate's beta apk dialer app? (or i dont need sipsimple or any other jazz like that to operate voip on my phone?)
thanks

[Q] Chosing default dialer/phone app

Hi,
Prior to 4.2.2 Android gave me the option to use a different dialer/phone app as default when making calls (from e.g. a contact card). This could be Skype, or Lynch for instance, the same way messaging allows me to have Whatsapp as default instead of SMS. This option has now gone away which is a huge irritant to me. Does anyone know if there is a way to get this functionality back?
I have a brilliant ap that routes all outgoing calls through our company's cloud PBX (thereby making international calling dirt cheap), but it needs to grab the call as it is being made. It's killing me that ths feature has gone away...
Any help would be appreciated,
M
Working with the latest Omega ROM, (Ver 11, 4.2.2), and I had to choose my dialer (installed Dialer one).
Usually when I working with SIP dialer, it won;t show in the default program, just integrate with the dialer (after dialing its ask you what service to use - phone or SIP).

Why all roms miss native SIP Client?

HI. I wiped out the MI UI system shipped with the phone because it had too many bloatware, but it has a feature that I use since Android 4: native SIP client. It's in the builtin call app, under Settings and "Call Settings". The native SIP client is not part of MI UI, I can find it on many stock Android phones.
But I tried 3 ROMS, all of them miss this feature. The config option is simply not there under "Call Settings". Since 99.9% of my phone calls are made in SIP, I find it an important feature. Is there a ROM that didn't disable this client, or can I patch up my phone?
The 3 ROMs I tried are:
[ROM][AOSP][hermes] Delirium Project
[AOSP] 5.0.2 Hermes [Clean Aosp][Everything except HDR works] 18-10-2015
[ROM]Hermes.5.0.2-LRX22G-NEXUS[19/09/2015]
I have same problem as you. Right now i think you have to use a third party app from Play Store. Or wait till CM12.1 is released for the Redmi Note 2.
I am not an expert about it but why not simply replace the dialer with one supporting SIP ?

Because such dialer either don't receive SIP phone calls, or do receive phone calls by taking additional 50MB of memory and kept the phone from sleeping well. The built-in SIP client, many believe, have the smallest idle footprint.

Question for the Devs - voip failover

I own a LeEco Le Max 2. Currently on RR. It seems as though wifi calling is a lost cause at this point for custom ROMs until LeEco releases source code. So my question is this:
What is the possibility creating a patch zip that integrates/adds setup options to use existing free voip services (ie google, facebook, skype) to fail-over to the user chosen voip service via the setup (Like hangouts, GV), so in the event of signal loss, but WiFi is present, calls can still be made. Particularly, using the integrated dialer in android without having to open said voip service's app separate to make the call.
**I know that EUI can do this, when available through your provider. I just would like to see a failover option similar in custom non-stock ROMs.
