As the title says. I do have SOME information on how to root devices, and I know that one-tap rooters like Kingoroot and such are usually too good to be true.
I have looked around the internet and XDA website, but haven't found anything that would help me fully. I did find some info from XDA that requires you to use Magisk to know some information about your device before rooting it, but trying to install the current Magisk version to the tablet causes "There was a problem parsing this package.", which the tablet does when the version of the app cannot be run on the current version of my tablet (I assume, since same apk works fine with my phone, which has higher Android version)
Any help regarding this? By the way, the tablet's android version is the dreaded 4.4.4, and there are no Android or system updates through Settings.

hello eveyone,
I'm italin so first of all I apologies for my engish.
I recently bought a second hand a500 dvice. The following is the firware i read in the tablet
kernel: 2.6.36.3+
build number: ACER_A500.7.006.01_COM_GEN1
I would like to know if this one is the last firware for my european tablet or not.
If no, how many update I have to do ? I can update directly to newer or I have do update to the newer updating step by step the previous first ?
The application root explorer is able to give me root permissions or the root permissions are required to install root explorer.
This phantomatic root is secure, I mean after the root the tablet is able to run as before or there could be some mulfuntionality?
Thanks for your answer
Ma poi con il root si hanno conseguenze ? Tipo rallentamenti e malfunzionamenti ?
Grazie.
If you don't have the newest version, and you are running stock, then your tablet would notify you that there is a newer version available. It looks like there are newer versions. I couldn't tell you for sure because I am running a custom ICS on mine, but it would appear there is a 7.014 version that came out in December of 2011. Hopefully someone can elaborate on this statement.
If your tablet it rooted, it will still run the same as before, but I would be a little weary when an application asks for root permissions. If you don't know what you are doing you could mess up your tablet. If you don't understand root and aren't too interested in it I would deny access to your apps that ask for root just to be on the safe side.
update available
im sure update is available for your tab
but i dont know the exact build number
root access doesnt cause any malfunctioning on your device
it just let apps on your tab to access system files
but as said in past post you could mess up your device
so i recommend you to learn about rooting your tab
its sooo helpfull to have it
some apps require root to work
but learn before you do anything to your tab
youll make it a brick if you do sth wrong
and you will find so usefull info on development section of a500 forum and general android forum
search xda and youll find anything you need
have fun
Hey guys, been a while since I asked something here so hopefully I'm posting in the right section, if not then sorry about that, would love for a mod to move the thread in the right section.
T Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8
SM-G950U
Android Version : 8.0.0
Android Security Patch Level: October 1, 2018
Baseband Version: G950USQU5CRIB
With that being said....... HELP ME!!
I've been using the app called FGL PRO to spoof my location and play Pokemon Go on my T mobile Samsung Galaxy S8. The method was to downgrade google play services to a previous version so FGL PRO would work. Just got hit with the October update which does not let me downgrade google play services anymore, thus rendering FLG PRO useless. I have been advised to root my phone and then try to spoof, apparently that's the only way now.
So far only downside I have of rooting is tripping Knox, which will disable my Samsung Pay and Secure Folder. But I'm willing to let those go for the sake of spoofing. I would 6 days a week so no time to officially play this game.
My question is.......
1. Is rooting the only way left?
2. Is there any other app recommendation which does not require rooting?
3. If not, What would be the proper steps to successfully root my S8.
- For others who do not play Pokemon Go, I believe it blocks phones that are rooted, so would definitely need something that hides my phone's root status from the app after rooting.
Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated
Hello,
I'm new here, although have lurked for a long time and have several (newer) rooted devices. There's normally enough information for me to solve any problems I have here but this time i'm pretty stumped.
I just rooted my Tab A SM-350 (MMB29M.T350XXU1BPK1) with TWRP+Magisk. I need it to be on a newer update for a app that i'd like to use, it's compatible with 7.0+. It does pass safety net currently, but when I go to update, I get this error:
The operating system on your device has been modified in an unauthorized way. Try downloading software updates using Smart Switch on your computer or visit a customer service center.
Click to collapse
I know that if I update using smart switch it will go back to stock. Is there a way for me to install system update without unrooting and also keeping all of my installed apps?
Thanks a ton, i'd really appreciate any help
Hi
Was hoping to get some guidance from anyone who has successfully upgraded the Android version on their Samsung GT-P5110. My daughter needs to install educational software that requires Android 5 or above (due to COVID/Home Schooling). Id love to buy a new tablet but Ive lost my job so hoping to get this old tablet working. Has anyone succesfully upgraded this model? Any help with instructions and links to correct versions of Odin, TWRP and OS Image would be most appreciated. Ive got some tips from this thread but not sure where to get the correct file versions..

Tablet is useless to me now. YouTube no longer works keeps asking to update
Hello guys,
i was using a USB-To-DVI video Capture Card device to use my tablet as an external monitor.
It was working just fine using an app called "USB Video" from the PlayStore using the pre-installed Android 11 on it.
I recently made an update to the latest version: SAOMC_SM-T500_OXM_EUX_RR_0005 EUX/EUX via online update, so my unit it up to date with the latest firmware on it (state: 2021-10-06).
Unfortunately, since i updated to the latest version, the USB-To-DVI device is not detected anymore. Neither the application i used, nor any other similar application did work anymore, so expect it to be related to the firmware update. Seems like UVC devices are blocked now?!
Do you know about anything that would explain this change? Or is there anything else going wrong here? Any help would be appreciated!
EDIT: A connected Logitech C920 works fine.
P.S. I was also thinking about a downgrade via Odin, but i was not able to install any previous firmware to the device. Neither any earlier Android 11, nor any Android 10 version for the T500.
