Hello guys, i'm new on this Forum so my phone are just rooted since 2020 and it was version (23.0).
It's a good version i think so today i see a new a new version (24.0) and then i update my magisk
via Magisk App, i update the App then the Magisk itself, i read the changelogs, click next, next and Reboot.
After rebooting, my phone just stuck on the ASUS logo which is before the boot-animation i guess.
I got in TWRP now, trying to downgrade the Magisk, or uninstalling the Magisk would be a nice idea
because i doesn't need it RN..
I wondering if anyone can help me with this, i would thank you so much coz next day i need to use it
to my online school. Hehehe
Nevermind, just flash the stock ROM then proceeds to flash magick etc if you want a root on your phone!
Wondering if you need some video of this :

Hi,
Can anyone help me, please?
I used to have the version 16s installed on my phone but after the forced update, got the official 17s version installed.
Lost root access and got a lot of chinese apps installed.
Now I can't root my phone anymore. I've tried a a lot of methods/twrps and can't get the phone to boot to twrp recovery.
After flashing the recovery.img, phone only reboot again to the chinese rom.
From what I'm reading on a xda topic, it seems the same as this guy:

Thanks for the reply. My phone used to be rooted, too (Lollipop), but became unrooted during an unwanted OTA update and can not be re-rooted ever since (Marshmallow). None of the King/o/root/etc. apps did the job over ADB from a pc or installed on my phone. Flashing supersu zip from TWRP got my phone into a bootloop last night from which I could only get out by re-locking the bootloader and installing a stock ROM. The bloody 17v update notice keep popping up and I have no choice but to let it install sooner or later. If I ever manage to re-root my device, I'll try your method.

Thank you for your reply, it is CN version.
I was able to root the phone again, by doing fastboot commands manually.
flash recovery, flash misc
After that, I was able to enter recovery mode.
Hey everyone,
I`m running LineageOS on my phone and am rooted using SuperSU which seems to work, according to Rootchecker and the feww apps I use, which make use of root privileges.
But I`m not entirely happy with my current situation, since it seems that more and more apps don`t tend to work with my rooted phone. So what are my ways out of this?
Can I easily unroot my phone, while keeping LineageOS?
Is there a working alternative to SuperSU, which would enable me to stay rooted on LineageOS without reflashing the OS and use Banking-Apps?
I`ve heard of Magisk, but I am unsure of how to switch over from my current state and I`am not sure whether or not it would solve my problems
Thanks for any help in advance!!
Magisk
You just have to go to SuperSU, then Full Unroot, then download Magisk 13.3 and flash it from TWRP. After that you should have Magisk Manager, if for some weird reason you don't, install it via apk
Then you just go to the settings, tick MagiskHide, then go back and open the side panel, MagiskHide - select the apps that you want Magisk to hide itself from
So I tried to do what you said.
I did the full unroot in the SuperSu App,
My phone rebooted
I shut it down again and booted into recovery
Tried flashing Magisk
But it failed, apparently due to my Boot image being patched by another program and told me to go with stock image
What do I do now? And will I lose any data by doing so? Thank you so much for any help!
Weird, but you can simply dirty flash LineageOS (the same one that you have now, or an update, doesn't matter) and it should let you install Magisk.
I did what you said and installed a delta update using LineageOS Downloader. Had to manually flash it in TWRP since I had no root permissions anymore. But I was able to install Magisk like a charm! Now I have to questions:
1. How do I update Magisk? Using the app?
2. Do I have to flash it again everytime I'm updating LOS?
Thanks for the great help so far!
And what exactly are those moduls? Should I be messing with them?
If updates come they will appear on the status bar and you can download them, and they'll install with the phone on. after that you have to (not quick) reboot your phone.
and about the modules, seriously? what do you think??
Hello guys,
I had been using Magisk & Xposed on Nougat before Oreo rolled out in December. However after update I lost root. When I flashed patched_boot.img I got stuck in bootloop (So I returned to stock boot.img). I am pretty sure bootloop was caused by some incompatible Magisk module. The problem is that I don't know how to disable them now - I don't want to install TWRP (because I want to be able to get OTAs) and when I use only "bootable" version of TWRP, it can not detect any files/partitions, so I am unable to use "mount-magisk.zip" to remove wrong Magisk modules. So I am kind of stuck.
Here is what I want to achieve:
- remove incompatible magisk modules
- gain root without permanent TWRP
- profit
I have been searching this forum for quite a while but couldn't find some relevant consistent information. Any tips how to deal with this?
At the moment I am running Oreo /w January update.
Thank you
For others looking for similar answers, I was able to solve it:
I flashed TWRP, then using "mount-magisk" removed all modules, then using MiFlashTool flashed original rom (you can do that without loosing data) and then I just followed guide to root using patched boot.img.
Good luck

Hi people!
I tried to unlock bootloader of my p9 lite
VNS-L31, android 7.0, stock emui 5.0.x
Got the code, unlocked, installed many twrps
to see wich was the best one to flash magisk 19.
All good, but everytime i did a magisk flash,
the phone didnt reboot properly.
(Got bootloop, sometimes got the reset phone screen entering a password {??} along with red errors in all twrps) im sure i did all correctly, this isnt the first time
I do a root on a smartphone... the point is:
I think that magisk is what causes these errors and
Forces me to hard reset the device to use it again (dload or huawey extractor)
i need magisk 19+ first because i need a systemless root, then i need many magisk modules
On my phone. Also tryed with custom rom based on
Emui 5.0.x through meticulus twrp 5.2, elite 3.1.1 twrp.
No way to install magisk without getting errors.
--- 》So if you guys could give me some tips to fix this issues, i would appreciate it so much. It could be my bad or maybe i need to do something else in order to get magisk working. 2 days trying, need help of the best modders here. Thanks in advance to all, and best regards from italy! :good:
hi all,
I'm very new to the android modding and rooting scene, and am not sure how to proceed here. I have followed this thread in order to root, and I have succeeded. My only problem is installing Magisk. I've tried a few versions but its all the same, its either something about an "ERROR:1" or magisk outright causes my phone not to boot until i flash the uninstaller .zip.
I genuinely do not know what to do here, and most guides ive noticed are outdated.
i just wanna spoof in pokemon go lol, help a sister out here pls
EDIT: ased someone on reddit and he'd said to just use magisk manager to patch the stock boot.img, and i flashed the patched img and it worked!
