[Guide] Rooting Samsung Galaxy Pro b7510

Congratulations! for all those who have purchased the latest Android handset named Samsung Galaxy Pro as this handset is not only among the ones which comes at an affordable smart price but also comes along with many features which are worth smart and well said by someone about this phone “future beyond”. So, assuming that you are new to the Android and some of you might have just upgraded their handsets from Nokia, Sony Ericsson or may be any other from Non Android phone. So here in this article we will be looking on how you can unlock your Samsung Galaxy Pro handset so that you can make the most out of it.
Since Android being the most open source, you can customize the way you want it. But before customizing he device you will have to root the device so that you can reach out the techniques with which you will be able to unlock the device to a whole new level of opportunities as you can install the latest third party ROMs like Cyanogen for Galaxy Pro or even some other ROMs which are different yet hold high level of customizability with better sorts of visual experience.
So, before proceeding to root the Samsung Galaxy Pro, you will have to make sure that you follow the pre requisites to root the device which are mentioned below and then you can proceed towards the rooting of device by following the instructions which are mentioned below. There are basically two methods to root the device which are with the help of the Z4 Root and another method is by using the Super One click Root. So, in the due course of this article we will check out both the methods that are rooting with the help of Z4 Root as well as the Super One click Root.
Please note that rooting voids the warranty of the phone, though the warranty can be reclaimed once you un root the device. Please note that un rooting the device is possible by using the Super One click method which is discussed in the due course of this article. And also, we take no responsibility for your device and we should not be held responsible for any manner in part or in whole and proceed for the tutorial to root solely at your risk. Its an unlikely even that you may brick your phone if you follow the instructions which are mentioned below.
Pre Root Instructions:
Warranty will get void once you root Samsung Galaxy Pro, though warranty can be claimed once you un root your device.
In an unlikely event you may lose all the data which is present in your Samsung Galaxy Pro, so it’s recommended to create a backup of all the data like call log, messages, applications, music, videos and other data which is present in the phone, so that you can restore the same once the rooting process is completed.
Ensure that you have the installed the latest framework in your computer or also you can install the latest version of KIES which is dubbed as KIES 2 so as to ensure that all the required drivers are installed successfully.
It’s very important to maintain a minimum battery power of 50% so as to facilitate the smoother rooting process or else there is a high possibility that your device may end up turning completely off in the process of rooting.
Since the process of rooting will be taking place, all the APN settings with which you access the Internet will be wiped off completely, so ensure that you have noted all the required settings for accessing the internet so that you can configure them again back once the device gets rooted. Also, additionally ensure that you have also backed up the MMS Settings and other settings as in an unlikely event sometimes you may end up losing all the 3G Settings as well as the APN or MMS settings in the process of Rooting the device.
Last but not the least follow the below mentioned instructions carefully so as to save your phone from being turned into an expensive paper weight.
Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy Pro using Z4 Root:
First up, download the Z4 Root application from here in your computer and after that you will have to extract the same. Its highly recommended to not to download this zip file of Z4 Root from your phone as it’s a password protected file which cannot be extracted most of the time in your Android phone.
So, once you extract the Z4 Root APK file, you will have to transfer the same into your phone by connecting your phone with the computer by connecting using the USB cable. Please note that place this file in the path of \sd card and not into any other folder or else you may face it difficult to find the same.
After copying the file, from your phone just open the same so that the application gets installed successfully in your phone after which you just need to open the same after which you will see the screen as shown below.
Now, as soon as the installation of Z4 Root is completed, you will have to tap on the application to open the same after which you will see two options that is temporary root and another one will be the Permanent Root. From this, you will have to tap on the “Permanent Root” after which the device will be rooted in seconds. Do, note that while the process is running don’t interrupt its processes or else you will have to repeat the rooting process, and also its not recommended to choose the temporary root as if you do the temporary root then the device will get un rooted just by a simple restart as shown in the below screen shot.
Now, after choosing the option from the two, the process of rooting the device will be processed after which you will see that the phone will be restarted, please note that if you choose the temporary root option then the device will be restarted to fix the rooting in your phone. It’s always recommended to use the Permanent root as if you opt for the temporary root, then the device will be un rooted as soon as you restart the device. Please note that as soon as the rooting process is successful, you will see that the “Superuser” icon will be created in your application which is in the skull shaped. So, there you go you have now successfully rooted your phone and you are ready to customize the phone the way you want it.
Just in case if you are unable to see the Super user icon then it means that the device hasn’t been rooted and you will have to root the device again by following the above instructions from the start. Despite repeating the above process if you are still unable to root your phone then you will have to follow the below procedure to root your phone.
Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy Pro using Super Click:
So, the second method with which you can root your Samsung Galaxy Pro is by using the Super One Click Root which we will see in the due course of this article. Unlike the Z4 Root which you will have to shift the APK file in your phone and then you had to open the same in your phone to start the rooting process, this is one of the hassle free methods which can be controlled straight from your computer. This method of rooting is much simpler than the ons which are available like HRoot or any such tools for rooting which may be confusing at times to the users who are new to Android.
Next up, before proceeding you will have to install the Java SDK, not just Runtime but the full SDK which you can download from here which also supports framework which is required to run the Android SDK. It’s very important to install this SDK is that to root the device the computer will be requiring the drivers so that you can easily root the phone using the Super One click.
For using this software application, first you will have to download the PC version of Super One Click software and then you will have to install the same.Please note that while extracting the downloaded zip file of the Super One. After extraction, you will have to click on the file which is named as Super One Click Root as shown in the below screen shot.
After installing, you need to first set your device in the USB debugging mode and in this process make sure that you don’t mount the SD Card or else whole data will get lost or even some major issue can arise.
After this open the installed Super One click software and then you will have to connect the USB cable to your phone and computer, if you are unable to get it run then you can try in the recovery mode. Make sure that all the drivers all installed through your PC suites of your respective Android phones. That’s it, after connecting, all you need to do is to just select the option which you wish to perform and that’s it you have now successfully finished rooting, shell rooting, un rooting as well as allowing Non Market apps (requires rooting) very easily all in just one click.
Please note that you will have to reconfigure the APN settings after updating the firmware to access the data services and the Internet services as all the Internet APN settings will be reset. You will have to contact your Service provider which is Verizon Wireless to get more info on the APN Settings. Not to forget also configure the MMS Settings. Dear friend, i have one that was bad flashed. now it don't turn on, don't get recovery mode or download mode. i did try micro usb 301 KOm micro usb method but nothing.

Best backup option whilst keeping warranty intact

So here is my situation.... I have a damaged digitizer (the component which makes touch screen work) and Samsung have said they will repair it under warranty. I have not rooted or flashed anything to this phone yet as I always wait until the warranty expires for this exact reason.
However, the technician at Sammy have told me part of the repair process is to reset the phone so I need to do a backup. Great, lets install custom recovery and make a nandroid backup of the phone and also root to use titatnium as a backup backup. Oh wait, Sammy says thats voids the warranty!! Hmmmm, what other options do I have to backup.....
I was advised to use Samsung Smart Switch to create a backup and then restore that to the restored phone. But after using this app, it only backs up the APKs of all apps then the data of a select few apps. Well thats not a backup in my eyes! For example, I have an app with an 8MB APK. The data it uses is 150MB (no cache). The app states the backup of this app is 8MB. Anyone see the pattern??
So the reason I am here is to see if the XDA community can confirm what I believe to be my only option left.
I understand you can fastboot into a TWRP recovery which means that TWRP is not installed but is run like a Linux Live CD. I assume therefore this means I can create my full nandroid backup and restore this after my phone is reset. Am I correct in thinking this? Will having this temporary TWRP trip knox or anything else which will void my warranty? Is there an issue with DMVerity by attempting to run TWRP this way?
Lastly, I have been trying to work out if my phone has a locked bootloader but I am struggling to find out if it has or not. I have the SM-G935F variant on the Three network in the UK. I have restarted my phone in recovery mode and cannot see anything which would suggest a locked bootloader. Rebooting to the bootloader just starts my phone up as normal. Does anyone have a surefire way to check for a locked bootloader?
Hope someone can help!

Helium. Doesn't need root. Backs up save data of most apps. Works in conjunction with SmartSwitch. Let SmartSwitch backup the apks and all other settings. Let Helium do the 'data only' backup.

Thanks for your reply. I have looked in to Helium but it does not work out of the box for me. I believe this is down to the RPi using ARM architecture and the included adb is compiled for x86 / x64.
Luckily this isnt my first time with adb so I already have it installed for the RPi. So taking the script run.sh and reading in to it, I will run the commands manually and see if I can work around the included adb instead.
I will definitely be looking at koush's github to see what this com.koushikdutta.shellproxy.ShellRunner2 app is but he has a hell of alot of repos to look through!
I will update when I have more.

From the start I didnt understand how the app can access other app data without being rooted and the fact I'm getting permission denied seems to reinforce that. Looks like I'll be contacting the dev instead.

Don't you have a PC? Basically Helium without root simulates a connected PC, allowing app data backup. To activate the app, download the PC program and install, and install the app on the phone. Open app on phone and program on PC, plug the phone in, follow the instructions on the phone, then wait for activation.

My phone is now my PC. I can cast my phone screen to my TV and use a bluetooth mouse n keyboard to do almost anything i can do on a PC
For the few things i cant do, I use a RPi and thats based on Linux. The instructions you gave is exactly what i am doing but using linux instead. The helium desktop 'app' is available on linux according to the support page (its really just a script which runs adb commands).
Since i have adb on Raspbian anyway, i just modified the script to use my built in version of adb as the bundled version is not compiled for ARM. The permission denied message is from the phone itself. So something else is going wrong. When i run the android app though it allows me to make backups but it doesnt look complete to me, much like the Smart Switch backup wasnt complete.
Fyi, i am a web developer by trade but dabble in python and c programming. I am currently writing my own android app to control my custom made home automation system using an API. Thats why i have adb preinstalled. So i am used to dealing with code to work out problems. I will liaise with the dev about the permission denied error as soon as i find the correct repo to report it in!

I've never been able to ge Helium to work reliably on my edge. Most of the time it won't work at all. Crappy unsupported software.
Unfortunately I've not found any solution that backs up everything, or even close to everything. Smart Switch will back up some, RERWARE's MyBackupPro will back up some. And those seem to be the best options out there. It's borderline criminal that Google still hasn't bothered to build a full backup solution into Android.

The Apps themselves should be set to use Google's online backup, but not all of them do. Games mostly follow. On restoring your phone, it will ask you if you want to restore from backups of your apps Google made, but that only works if the app developers were compliant with standards Google presented.

Helium is working even with the permission denied error. The app runs and allows me to make backups but as ever, they dont appear to be complete. For example, as mentioned in original post, the backup only takes the 8MB APK and not the 150MB data. Its the same as Smart Switch.
As to the Google backup, you can now view these backups in the Google Drive app and only half my apps are there and again they dont look complete backups (one backup is apparently 1KB but app manager says it 12MB data).
I noticed that app manager reports data size but even this isnt accurate. If your app stores data in a folder on internal storage or sd card then this isnt counted as data. Only that in the data partition appears to count. My Torque logs are a prime example of this. 56MB of files on internal storage, app manager reporting 292KB data. No backup at all on Google Drive.
Im trying do a nandroid backup using a temporary recovery. Ive tried 'fastboot boot twrp.img' and 'fastboot boot recovery twrp.img' but neither work. Nothing is recognised with 'fastboot devices' which is concerning. I also cant use 'adb reboot bootloader' as the phone just restarts like normal. Samsung and Three have both said they dont lock the bootloader so im at a loss as what to do next :/

That's weird. Helium works for me. I wonder what's the difference.

THIS ^^ Exactly my thoughts. Without root and TWRP / Titanium you're screwed

question for Galaxy Express 3(not listed). Trying to bypass google verification

so my friend found a samsung galaxy express 3 from at & t and wanted me to set it up for him. so he gave it to me, first thing i did was factory reset it in recovery mode. Then problems started. I dont have the previous owners account so i need to bypass the google verification. But i have no idea how. ive tried the side sync method, the open with option never showed up. this phone doesn't have usb hosting so i cant use an otg cable. i tried the real term method, just an error when i put the codes. i tried the no computer methods, i can get into ultra power saving mode, but thats it. with the other no computer methods it comes down to restarting it, and when it comes back on theirs camera access but for me when i restart it its locked, but no camera or phone access. ive tried every option i could find and even tried installing a stock ROM, succeeded with the stock rom installation thinking it would remove the google verification but still didn't. does anybody have any ideas? i cant enable USB debugging. so i dont think i can root it and install a custom rom and disable it. at least i think. im new to this stuff so if anybody has suggestions for me then that would be great. Thank you in advance

Google frp bypass. Methods have changed, due to patching. You need to research the most current method. I used Rootjunky's method back in the fall of 2016. Worked like a charm. Consisted of a phony call through an emulator, triggered a request for contact storage, led to browser opening playstore for a vcard app. Download frp bypass app instead, viola!! Imho, too much work for that phone.

I managed to get into chrome. Now what?
So with a bunch of messing around I managed to get into chrome through the emergency call but I'm in chrome. Which is how most methods work is through chrome. U install an app then run it and ur able to bypass it pretty much. But I can't install any apks. When I download a file it ask if I wanna download it, then starts it but never prompts me when it's done so I can't open it and install it. If I redowbload the same file it lets me look at the downloaded files and I can even get to the SD card. But if I tap on anything that's not a folder it kicks me back to the browser. So how could I get on the Samsung store to get es file explorer or install apks? Any help would be great thanks

I've had success setting up a samsung account installing es file explorer, then putting the app needed on sd card or Bluetooth it via a settings app. Rootjunky has the apks. But yes the 911 loophole is there if you don't have a sim to do a realterm dialer method

Non-root - Installing app as priv-app

As part of corporate access, I had to install MobileIron on my phone. MobileIron requires that the phone be unrooted and encrypted. Hence I reverted my rooted phone to a Stock Oxygen OS ROM with encrypted data partition.
One side effect of this is that MobileIron has locked manual installation of any apps manually.
One workaround that I could think of is to install a apk installer app (such as apkpure) as priv-app using a temporary boot into twrp. But I am unable to figure out how to install the APKPure app as a system privileged app. I have tried the following but none of that worked:
1. Copy the apk to /system/system/priv-app when booted in twrp.
2. Install the app as a user app and then move /app/data/apkpure directory to /system/system/priv-app when booted in twrp.
Is there any way to achieve this?

What I am currently doing is that whenever I need to install an apk manually, I disable MobileIron, install the required apps and then go thru the re-registration of MobileIron.

How to manually update a Redmi note 7 without root

Hi everyone, I've had this Redmi note 7 for a couple of years now. In the last few months its software started behaving erratically:
- Settings app doesn't work anymore, it gets stuck as soon as you open it
- No google apps work besides Google chrome (play store even lists possible app updates as: (, , , , , , , , )
- Keyboard doesn't open
- 3/4 of the installed apps behave like settings does
- Connecting it to a PC doesn't allow you to access the phone memory if not through adb
- Every x minutes a message pops up saying that "The security app is not responding"
Because of the points listed above, it became impossible for me to update the OS from settings and try to fix this whatever is happening. After looking online for a bit I found a guide that basically had this steps:
- Download the update.zip from xiaomi website (Done)
- Move the zip file to the root folder of the phone
- Restart the phone and enter recovery mode
- Select the options "Update from update.zip" or something similar
The problem I have with step 2 is that whenever I try to move the zip, it denies permission. Trying to get in as root throws "disabled in production build" error (I guess because the phone is not rooted).
Is there any way to recover this crippled phone? Has any of you ever witnessed anything similar to what is happening to it? Is there a way to update the OS without using apps/settings or root?
If you need additional info just ask and I'll provide.

- No google apps work besides Google chrome (play store even lists possible app updates as: (, , , , , , , , )
- Keyboard doesn't open
- 3/4 of the installed apps behave like settings does
- Connecting it to a PC doesn't allow you to access the phone memory if not through adb
- Every x minutes a message pops up saying that "The security app is not responding"
Because of the points listed above, it became impossible for me to update the OS from settings and try to fix this whatever is happening. After looking online for a bit I found a guide that basically had this steps:
- Download the update.zip from xiaomi website (Done)
- Move the zip file to the root folder of the phone
- Restart the phone and enter recovery mode
- Select the options "Update from update.zip" or something similar
The problem I have with step 2 is that whenever I try to move the zip, it denies permission. Trying to get in as root throws "disabled in production build" error (I guess because the phone is not rooted).
Is there any way to recover this crippled phone? Has any of you ever witnessed anything similar to what is happening to it? Is there a way to update the OS without using apps/settings or root?

No need root,just put the rom in internal storage.

What about try to do a factory reset from recovery mode?
