Hello everyone,
I accidentally bricked my android box yesterday. I looked up its model 'SAMMIX R95S' and the website stated that it has a Amlogic S905X processor so I flashed that firmware on it.
Box has a red light and nothing shows up on the screen. Only when I took it apart and removed the heat sink, I found out that the processor is S905W.
I need to perform a eMMC reset on the box.
Here are front and back images of the box:

Hello, I have bought Jiayu S3 recently, for those who don't know, it is a phone featuring mediatek mtk6752. It was all good but I decided to restore factory settings and phone seems to be bricked. I have watched many tutorials and read guides but nothing helps. My phone blinks with android logo continuosly, once per few seconds it displays android with red exclamation mark inside of his body. I have tried to do recovery but phone only resets showing Jiayu logo or turns off completely. Obviously I have tried to flash stock rom but my phone is not recognized by the PC, and no held buttons combination helps. It does recognize it with the battery in but I can't flash with it in, right? I have tried removing mediatek usb drivers, redownloading them, flashing stock rom by different programs, but the phone is just not recognized. I have read something about hard reset (which includes working with the hardware) but I hope there is another non invasive solution.

Hello everybody,
I bought the SCISHION V88 Piano TV Box - RK3328 4GB RAM + 16GB ROM Android 7.1, and I made the mistake (without knowing the results) to install the SuperSU app from google play (the box is rooted, but do not ever install the SuperSU).
The result is that after rebooting my box (asked by the SuperSU app), it stucks on the Android Logo but factory recovery is still accessible when pressing the reset button.
I managed to do a factory reset via factory recovery without success, still stuck on boot on the Android Logo.
I managed to fix it by installing the firmware uploaded by changonc in freaktab.com.
You can find the firmware from his post.
http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-support/rockchip-based-tv-players/rk3328-devices/681869-scishion-v88-piano-tv-box-rk3328-4gb-ram-16gb-rom-android-7-1-usb-3-0-fast-lan?p=705933#post705933
The tools that I have used are RockChip_Batch_Tool_v1.8 and DriverAssitant_v4.4 in windows 10 x64.
I installed the DriverAssistant_v4.4
Then executed the RockChip_Batch_Tool_v1.8
Loaded the firmware bin file downloaded from changonc's post
rk3328_7.1_box_RX4_SSV6051P_tongwang_RKMC-update_20171228.bin
Then connected the box with a usb cable Male A to Male A, on the box's usb port which is located close to the piano keys (it is the one on the edge and not the blue)
The moment that it connects with the usb it switches on.
Immediately I pressed the reset button and keep it pressed until the box 1 in RockChip Batch Tool turned yellow.
Then I pressed the upgrade button.
The procedure started, and the first time it ended with an error.
Then I repeated the same procedure and it finished successfully.
After* I disconnected it and connected it to the TV, and it started loading.
Be very patient when on the Android boot logo, it can take about 10-15 mins to load the android the first time.
hi, thanks for the writeup. After installing this new firmware, what is the 'Android Patch Level' and kernel build date? You can find it from settings->About Phone
http://www.scishiontvbox.com/firmware-for-scishion-v88-piano-tv-box shows that there is a updated firmware available, but there is no link provided to download it.
Thank you. Today i followed the steps you have given above and updated my v88 piano tv box.
This scishion v88 piano tv box is a wonderful device with 4G RAM, but the stock ROM running this box is not great. They have removed some essential components and it is impossible to get an alternate launcher or other components to work on this.
i wonder if there is a custom android ROM for this device.

Hi all,
So I managed to successfully root and dump various bits of firmware etc over the past few weeks and generally had no issues(apart from the LED front panel lights not working(did at first), which is the main reason I was trying to rectify) - I have flashed from USB using a .bin also dumped preloader and rom etc via a scatter file using SP Tools after finding a rom entitled 8277L in the filenames, this worked perfectly(but still without the LEDS's) - Link to bought device(a cheap chinese one) - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Single-O...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
Main issue: Now I have bricked it - I selected the format all part in SP-Tools thinking it would allow me to flash from fresh to stop the stock and TWRP recovery from timing out(I successfully ported TWRP over, but after about 30-40 seconds it was rebooting the device, bizarre!) - When the head unit is powered on it turns on the display but that is all, just a light black screen. I've tried recovering again via USB and SP tools but I think I'm almost out of luck. SP Tools doesn't read from the device or detect it, and yes I have the correct drivers installed under Windows. No screen swiped or button presses help in getting into any bootloader or update mode.
I am really hoping, anyone could help identify the UART pins on the board - yes I've now taken it all apart - in the hope I can flash a bootloader image which I guess is what is now wrong and has been erased??
I've really been digging into this and researching on Russian websites and getting lot's of interesting information including from XDA thankfully, but not this issue. I have included some pretty much hi res images, some are dark but I have redone some, everything is readable but I've googled and googled for model/part/serial numbers etc and have had no results that helped to indentify where I could potentially find the UART connection.
If anyone has the same unit or similar it would be great to share the knowledge so perhaps we can help bring the info together and help other debrick this device if there are any!
Many thanks, for anyone who cares take a look!

Same problem
I am facing the exact same issue.. Have you figured out any solution to your problem mate? Any help would be appreciated.
Hi All,
So I purchased a broken S8 to repair to give to my Mum as she doesn't need a fancy phone but wanted something she could take good pictures on.
I have repaired several phones in the past with software / hardware issues so thought this would be no problem.
So I have installed the motherboard into the frame / LCD assembly and connected everything up, reset it and removed the FRP so it now boots into the OS.
Noticed it wasn't getting any signal and wouldn't detect the sim card, so I thought it was most likely bent pins on the reader, so swapped it out for a new one but when I looked at the old one there where no issues with any of the pins and the new one acts the same, reads the SD card but not the sim.
Thought is it a demo model so I went to look at the IMEI using *#06# and it just hangs and shows a black screen, not even 000000000 etc, so I then check the Baseband and it is just blank too no text underneath it.
I have followed a few steps posted on the forum and online;
Reflashed with latest BTU UK FW from Sammobile
Installed a PIT file
Reset the phone from the recovery menu along with cache partitions
What should my next steps be or am I just wasting my time and should just write it off ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Folks,
I'm having RK3288 Board it was working fine until I decided to do an OS upgrade. Accidentally ROM didn't install correctly and now the device is nearly bricked.
I'm searching the web for the past 2 months to try any method which can help me to return the board to a working state.
The issue I tried to Install a new untested ROM over a working ROM and the device isn't booting UP, whenever I'm trying to boot nothing happens also RK Android Tool isn't able to detect the device. The issue is pretty big as I'm left with more than 20 unused boards.
Could you please suggest how to enter eMMC or EDL mode? Attaching a Snap of my Board.
HI ,
you can short the Pins 7/8 , right side , count from triangle in IMG .....402.jpg , for more Infos search on Freaktab ,
greetings / gefattern
