Question: Dasaita PX6 MAX10 - Android Head-Units

Hi all! New user here.
I just purchased this HU and I like it, but I would like to make a few mods, including:
- ability to access all apps while car is in motion
- add standard android buttons to switch between apps / split screen, etc.
I've been reading the posts about updated firmware, but I'm not sure if any of that addresses these issues, nor which firmware to use. Any pointers would be appreciated!

How to map physical buttons Eonon G2110 (Navi/Band/TV/DVD/etc...)

A year ago I bought the Eonon G2110 car radio/navigator (Android 4.2.2). I do not have internet in my car, so I use an offline navigator (Here, Navmii etc...) and not Google maps.
Now I wonder, can I change the physical button labeled "Navi" function from "Maps" to another app like "Here"? (and potentially also the other buttons like TV/DVD/Band/etc....)
I hope somebody can explain me how to make these buttons useful for me again?
Thanks!
It's possible, you have to root + install some components (i.e. modding the head unit).
Read in the forum, for ex. this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-auto/mtcb-software-development/xposed-modules-units-t3263966
and it might also be useful to read the general discussion about the modified ROMs:

Happy modding!

[PX5] - OEM app skins and mods repository

I'm hoping to start a collection of different skins and mods that people have made for the stock applications on Android PX5 units.
Apps:
Radio
Bluetooth Audio (A2DP)
Music
Bluetooth phone (Caller)
Lots of people are using custom ROMs or other work arounds that let them change default apps or install modded versions over the top.
There are a lot of decent screenshots of really nice looking radio versions around, but download links no longer work.
Hopefully we can get some people sharing them or developing new ones to people's tastes and car styles.

You need to specify for which hardware platform: STT, FYT or MTCD/E.
Mods for one platform do not work on another platform and can even cause serious issues.

Thanks for that advice.
I figured people could specify which type they have when they shared them.
I'm after MTCD/E for myself.

Below is a link to the Navimods website where you can donate 10EUR and get access to some really high quality stock replacement apps aswell as an entire ROM.
The developer has made a skin replacement update.zip file however this also changes the status bar which didn't suit my head unit setup. I emailed the developer and he was kind enough to talk me through how to replace just the APK files, and this worked great.
I'm not sure if he wants me to discuss how to do this though as his apps aren't free to share.

Question about modifying the apks
I’ve tried different apk editors but I didn’t managed to actually install the edited files.
If I can do that I will put a guide on how to modify those

PX5C S32FO Android 10 HeadUnit

Hi,
I am new here and I have a new headunit with Android 10.
The unit is a Xonrich PX5C S32FO (RK3368)
(I can't share a link because I am a new user)
The unit works fine. Fast boot time. The CanBus information is much better than the stock radio. But I am missing a few options (Subwoofer settings, decent Apple Carplay, some settings like volume setting at startup etc etc.)
I am a total Noob regarding Android. I am a Apple user and I don't know much of Android.
The one thing I do like is the opportunity to flash and customize everything.
I like the layouts I see here with alle the flashed en rooted roms.
Can you tell me which Rom I need for my unit. (and a small howto)
Cheers!
R-v-E
Any updates about this unit?

How to get key navigation information from Android navigation apps

We are a company focusing on developing and making Android-based head units. We want to get key navigation information from popular Android navigation apps, like Google maps, Waze, Here WeGo, to display on the home page of our head units and, if supported, on the gauge cluster of vehicles. Can someone shed some light on how to achieve this? Thanks.
Which type of head units? MTCD/E type or other type?
Knowing this might help get your query best visibility.

Thanks for your reply. I thought Android navigation apps have universal protocol to send out key navigation information. Anyway, currently we mainly use Rockchip PX6 and SC7862 two platforms to develop vertical screen head units.
Thanks, I will request a moderator move your question to the generic Android Head-units forum.
