Hello everyone I had a couple of questions regarding this unit here. Is there a way to edit or remove this annoying widget on the home screen so I can add more apps? It tells me there is no more room to add apps on this screen. Also is there updated firmware for this unit. I attached screenshots of the device info.

In stock launcher no way to add/remove widgets on home screen.
I install another launcher (holo launcher) and use it.
Hello, today I was digging in the settings vein, it is entered with code 8888, and I changed some settings and the media stopped keeping the settings after I turned off the car and it stood for about 3-4 hours after starting, all settings are reset and the original view of the media appears, I do not remember the language in which it was set, the exchanged icons, does anyone have a picture of the original settings of this menu which opens with code 8888?This is the menu.

Hi, first off im new to the XDA EXEC so be gentle , I've already unlocked and updated the device and now I'm just getting use to customizing it.
I've installed GSPocketMagic and although i can get it running theres a few things im unsure of.
1. it seems to slow the boot up of the device considerably, don't know why or if that might be some remnance of O2 stuff kicking around on the device.
2. The icons don't seem to blend into the themes properly. For instance the close buttons seem to be of a different colour and you can easily see that. On the main today screen when no apps are running I have an obvious discoloured sqaure in the top right hand corner. I'm guessing this might have something to do with the bmp pallettes for the images? anyone done anything about this?
3. Skining the menu , on the download site is shows its possible but i've had no luck.
it looks like a good app but its just not reaching what i need any ideas on how to configure it properly as so far from what i've seen theres limited information on it and i've not found any translations etc.
Regards
Download the latest here: http://homepage3.nifty.com/UK-taniyama/tools/GSPMagicPP.html
Goto Start menu > Option > Setting... and and "play" with the settings of GSPocketMagic++
Cheers
i've had a play with the settings already and could really find what I was looking for the most i've managed to do is change the startup menu button to an image but it didn't resolve the fact that the button images for say close are off colour (even if you install the VGA xscale version (as i stated before).
Also I can't see how you skin the menu so it'd look similar to that of the existing menu bar (just for continuity of the plug in). Then finally theres the fact on boot its terribly slow to start up with this addition (or so it seems). However its still a vanillia(ish) device so i could be som O2 crap kicking around that i haven't removed yet?
dunno..hence the thread.
Smallmenu and GSPocketMagic will take quite a while to generate the icon cache on first launch. Just let it do it. It doesn't do it again after the first launch unless you manually refresh. It takes about 30 seconds for me.
V
If you goto Goto Start menu > Option > Setting... and directly close de Setting page it wil refresh the cache again. You can time it how log it takes. I have about 30 shortcuts in the menu (which I pointed to \windows\start menu\programs and not the standard folder), also to the SD card, and it takes about 4 to 5 secs to refresh it.
installing GSPocketMagic
Hello downloaded it
How do I install it on the Exec
Thx.

is there an update 2 this? where can i find skins?
I have a problem with the htc hd 2, when you press the windows logo button on the bottom of the phone you jump to menu where all the icons are (such as installed programs icons and settings).
what happened is that all icons are missing except the today icon, how can
you bring all those icons back?
Also when you install a new program the phone doesn't make any icon in the menu. I have soft reset my phone with the reset button on the back but wouldn't work.
Can somebody help me with this problem?

I hope for your sake I'm wrong, but that sounds like a hard reset is needed, to me. Wait and see if anyone else has any suggestions, but that sounds quite a nasty problem.
I have got the same problem... any ideas how to fix it without hard reset?
I have two such icons .. HTC people and HTC calendar. It seems it has something to do with turning corresponding tabs off and on again.
Yes it would me nice to fix it without hard reset Any suggestions?

How do you turn the corresponding tabs off and on?
Another thing hhen you go to the setting en press menu on the right corner then press more then nothing appears/happen?
Settins / personalize / home screen tabs
And I can confirm it .. first I had no such icons. Then I disabled calendar tab. Still nothing. Then I enabled calendar tab. And THC Calendar icon with no picture (only default one) showed up in the start menu. Now if I remove the tab, the icons gets removed too. But as I enable the tab again, icon is back.
Same for HTC People icon.
Only tweak I use which could have something to do with this enabling all settings icon in start menu (via BsB tweaks).

I see what you mean thanks for the effort, but with these icons the htc has no problems, its with icons you see when you press the windows logo button, its a long list with all the installed applications. In this screen they all disapeared except the today icon.
Some help from anybody would be very appreciated?
Hmmm
I had the same issue.
Flashed 1.48 over it.
Havn't had the problem since.
Check this dudes thread for additional/replacement icons...stunning stuff!

Updating rom solved the problem thanks for help me out!!
Any other solution available other then updating my ROM...cause it's already up-to-date.
I got this issue after a soft reset by BsB Tweaks.

Additional info:
- I'm using a Dutch ROM (so "\Windows\Startmenu\Program files" is called "\Windows\Startmenu\Programma's" )
- It happened after a soft reset after altering the Led Notifications/Message Notification setting
(I think the soft reset itself might have caused it)
- I have been moving startmenu items around using my ActiveSync connection
All I've found on the forum thus far is: Hard reset your device...but I really don't wanna.
Damn, it happened again. I'm stuck with just the Today icon again.
For a while I thought: leave it be. With Co0kie's Home Tab I can access all applications I need.
But I recently noticed that I cannot access my advanced settings screen either... and there's no shortcut for that.
Too bad, nobody came up with a solution that doesn't require a hard reset or ROM Update (which basically means the same: Clean slate).
Anyone?
Hi Guys,
I'm having a little problem with my phone. After a lot of tweaking yesterday, I finally had my phone working perfectly. In a final change, I just tried to change the lockscreen wallpaper to a custom picture. I'm not sure what happened but, on restarting the phone, I'm getting:
'unable to start HTC Sense, tap here to try again'
and obviously can't get back to the home screen to change the wallpaper back via the sense settings although I can navigate the regular settings menu via the start tab and Sense is ticked in the settings. I've gone to the gallery and deleted the picture I assigned to the wallpaper but it's still showing when I restart the device.
Now, as I said, I've added a lot of cabs and made a lot of reg-tweaks and would really prefer not to do a hard reset if I can help it and have to do them all again. I changed the font on the device yesterday and don't know if that is related to the problem but I navaigated through the settings and removed that cab but still no joy.
Any help would be great, more specifically if I can restore the phone to earlier settings or maybe change the lockscreen wallpaper via the registry?
Thanks in advance
I don't know if this will work but try, windows, settings, (menu - all settings), today and unclick use this wallpaper as a background. You can also tab across and untick HTC sence and try restartng your phone
Thanks for the tip. I just ended up hard resetting anyway and everything's working ok now. I tried unticking sense but no joy.
Thanks
I think I've found the solution (at least before hardresetting):
Goto KHEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC
Just delete the key MANILA (back up to a file before you delete if you want)
Reset
Ok, Newbie here. I have the Energy Sense ROM on my TMO HD2 and I have searched but no luck at finding what all I need for the HD Walls. Any help would be appreciated.
Are you sure that ROM doesn't have Cookie's Home Tab (CHT) baked in? If it does, you don't need HDWall beacuse that functionality is included in CHT's latest version.
If the ROM doesn't have that already, I'd recommend you just getting CHT anyway, it incorporates HDWall's methods, among others, and is a great tool to have around in general.
I used to use HDWall by itself all the time, but it's fairly complicated, and it's so much easier now just to use CHT to get the same effect.
ya its got the latest cht already. i kinda thought that but wasnt sure.so what else do i need to create wallpapers? is there a cab for the program i need on the desktop? sorry for the lack of knowledge, just couldnt find anything on it.

Check out the CHT thread, there's info there on the different ways you can do that, it's done through the CHT interface.
EDIT: Here's the link to it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=625483
You'll also want to check out the companion tool for that, Cookie's Home Tab Editor (CHTE). You probably have that as well on your ROM, it extends the functionality of CHT: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=633590
Thanks! Now I just need to find the program for my desktop to create the wallpaper and create a cab file right? If so where can I find these at? If I overlooked it my apologies.

No, you don't even have to do that, you just need to have the image you want to use saved on your phone somewhere (like in a "wallpapers" folder on your SD card, for example), and then you use the options in CHT to choose that image and apply it as the background on your phone. CHT will apply it on all tabs, and even skin the top and bottom bars for you, like HDWall would do.
I switched from using HDwalls to strictly CHT a while ago. It is much less problematic and easier to change wallpapers.
I don't suggest keeping your wallpaper in your SD card but copy it to the "wallpapers" folder in my documents. If you have it plugged into your computer (i do a lot) and reboot the phone it won't find the wallpaper on your SD card as it can't see the SD card because it it plugged in. Yeah, clear as mud.. anyway.

Very good point decim8, and I hadn't though of that...I had assumed that it cached the final wallpaper somewhere on the phone, but it's probably true that having it on the SD card will prevent the image from being usable whenever you're connected in disk drive mode to a pc over usb.
ok, I think Im a retard. I open CHTE and switch to HD wallpaper, reset the phone. I have saved the photo I want under the wallpaper folder on the device, and cant seem to figure out how to set it. The set wallpaper option goes away once I set it to HD and when I go to the photo and try and set it to the wallpaper the only option is todays background and I only see it when Im in the start menu. All tabs are black background and cant change to anything else.
From your home screen...
Hit the Menu soft key and then Set Wallpaper at the top.
Under the Home Tab section, tap the first thing, Portrait... and browse to the location you saved the image. Repeat as needed for the other sections.
Worst case, hit Albums, All...
It doesnt give me the option to set the wallpaper from my home screen (not able to be selected). It is an optoon when Im not trying to use HD though.
Sounds to me like you still have HDWall selected in CHTE.
Select Menu (soft key at bottom of home screen)
Select Co0kie's Home Tab Editor
Select Miscellaneous settings
Scroll down to the "wallpaper Mode" section. "HQ Wallpaper" should be selected, not "HDWall"
Please double check that this is the case. With this option selected you should be able to select "set wallpaper" with the Menu softkey.
EDIT: I have landscape on my home screen enabled via BSB tweaks and "set wallpaper" is not available from the menu when in landscape mode. Works fine in portrait.
Thanks!!!!!!! See I told you I was a retard. I did have HD selected instead oft the HQ like I should have. Thanks for all the help
Edit: The wallpaper is working correctly BUT when I try to set the Skin Taskbar and Softkey bar it gives me an error. Says "Out of Memory Exception"? The phone is no where near out of memory. I cant win for losing.

Possible problems :
The serial number is replaced by: Unknown or 1234
Solution :
To get your serial number, try:
1. Connect to Wi-Fi (you can create a WiFi hotspot in your phone and connect to it).
2. Make bluetooth pairing to your phone.
The serial number is generated by the MAC addresses of the WiFi and bluetooth modules.
3. Reboot after that the device 1 or 2 times!
You can reboot in the Settings Mod and click on the circle icon in the upper right corner. The reboot menu will appear.
Check if the serial number appears.
The Bluetooth application says that there is no license.
Solution :
1. Connect the device to WiFi to the WiFi access point of your phone, check whether the Internet is working on the device, for example, launch a browser and see if the Internet is working there.
2. Reboot. You can reboot in the Settings Mod and click on the circle icon in the upper right corner. The reboot menu will appear.
3. After rebooting, connect to the internet. Go to the bluetooth application and try to press the buttons there or click on the inscription where it is written that there is no activation.
Sound does not work or shows I2C error on every reboot
Solution :
Your DSP is incorrectly configured in the factory settings.
Go to Settings Mod - Settings related to the car - Engineering menu (password 0000)
and set up the DSP there.
My settings (you may have other settings !!!)
1. DSP Settings - Audio IC Type - BU37033 Series
2. Application Settings - Ess DSP or ROHM DSP

Thanks @Malaysk. As Beta tester I am testing your ROM since some weeks on my Erisin (Leima MCU) and everything is fine!
Awesome. I have one of these units and very eager to test. However, I have some questions I hope a user can anser:
1. I have no original software for backup. Is it available somewhere in case this doesn't work?
MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18-W_20200812-09:08_HD1_7708_D_FF_C8
APP: PX5C_C54_HA1_Xrc2-10-EN_2020-06-05-1726
2. If I take the power off of it, will it remember equalizer sound settings?
3. I always get a popup that my usb device want access. I can check a box to remember the setting, but after each boot it asks again... Is this solved?
4. Steering wheel controls programmable?
Thanks.
Hi Everyone
I've got the MCU down here, but i can't understand what Firmware i have to install, first or second?
Thanks!
Installed... thank you for the great work you have done. I have a problem with my canbus (ft-ss-05) now not available in the settings and those available lack the functions. Why are there no canbus models compared to the original Rom?

MCU: S32F0_XinRC-18-W_20200812-09:08_HD1_7708_D_FF_C8
APP: PX5C_C54_HA1_Xrc2-10-EN_2020-06-05-1726
2. If I take the power off of it, will it remember equalizer sound settings?
3. I always get a popup that my usb device want access. I can check a box to remember the setting, but after each boot it asks again... Is this solved?
4. Steering wheel controls programmable?
Thanks.

I try to answer to your questions.
1) You need a "backup" only of the Android Part. The MCU is untouched by this ROM. You need the reinstall the original SW. I don't know if this is straight away, after the Custom ROM installation. In any case, Here you will find several original firmware, search for the one for you unit:

You can find also a thread here: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=973677&st=0
2) If you remove the fixed +B, typically all the settings should be lost. I am not sure about the equalizer.
3) This happened also to me before I had installed the Malaysk ROM. It is a bug of the original FW. With the Malaysk ROM this issue is gone.
4) Only resistive for the moment, as the original FW one.
Installed, works amazing, I have only a big issue: using spotify, when i play next manually with swc (resistive) the song changes, but i have no audio, i need to press pause then play to get audio again... If the songs changes automatically after reaching the end no issue...
No one tested the ROM with YUNHT MCU?
What happen if i flash it? don't want to brick the unit

Thanks for all your help (and getting this organised).
Unfortunately I don’t see any xinrc roms there. But I’m too curious not to try. The confirmation checkbox for usb has been bugging me a lot.
I’ll try soon and report. Fingers crossed!
Great work! My unit has a 800x480 display, will the custom ROM work just as well?
Does this rom works with the same radio PX5 MCU S32F0 RK3368 with Android 10?

I don't think that the display will be correct, it works well at a resolution of 1024X600

Rats! Is there a way to backup my current firmware so that if anything goes wrong I can go back?
did some testing today. Fcc launcher works. I miss the nice volume bar of the old roms. Where can I setup the delay for sleep mode? .Radio will not turn off.

These radio works differently from MCU MTCD based one with regards to the sleep philosophy. The are going in stand by and they will completely switch off only when the car battery goes under 12 volt. This is done to have a fast boot

really a great job installed without problems everything much smoother and faster I was wondering if it was possible an automatic dark mode on the whole system as it happens on smartphones for all apps to solve the problem of reflections in the car the apps would be more visible thanks a lot of compliments
Hi,
"DEMO VERSION" is still displayed after installing the software How do I remove it?
