Hi,
I've just bought an Amazon FireTV 4k Max (Fire TV Home Version) 6341067.1 running Fire OS 7.2.5.5 (PS7255/2444) and purchased and installed ATV Pro Launcher (0.1.5-pro) and I would like to be able to replace the genuine launcher by ATV Pro launcher in the sense (1)when FireTV boots, reboots or whatever ATV Pro launcher gets launched instead of the genuine launcher and (2) when i press the home button i would like FireTV to take me to ATV Pro launcher desktop instead of showing the genuine launcher desktop.
Does anyone knows if it's still possible? If I could do it through adb it would be nice.
I've been looking and trying different apps but it didn't seemed to work.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advanced!!
PD: I've tried FireTV Helper but it didn't work. I noticed it said accessibility service was disabled.

Finally I was able to fix it through Launcher Manager [1].

Has anyone figured out why or better yet figured out a work around for why the Kindle software won't start unless you are in the stock UI? I can't get it to open from within GoLauncher at all. Sure I can just go back to the stock UI and read my books and magazines, but it would be nice to get this from inside GoLaunder or any of the other launchers.

That's weird, mine launches from Go Launcher just fine. So does my Amazon Video. No idea why though.
For me it only launches in Go Launcher if I have a book already open in the Stock Kindle UI.
For the time being I have a shortcut on the desktop to the amazon launcher. Just 1 extra step, seems to work. And when I hit home, right back to ADW EX homescreen.

I was getting ready to post this same question, I've tried 4 or 5 other ereaders and none work under the GO launcher.. ???
I use ADW EX. I have a shortcut for Amazon launcher on the desktop.
I tap it, and amazon pops up as if you hit the home button on stock.
I go to books, app store for daily free app, etc. All is good.
I hit home button, i go back to ADW EX desktop.
Yep, I just use the icons in the launcher or desktop shortcut, dock shortcut etc.. All Amazon app icons work fine for me either in Go or ADW. No issues.
Kindle apps not working after I rooted and installed Android market on my Kindle Fire
Hey guys, Please help with my problems:
1. I have rooted and installed Android market on my KF successfully. So far, can download and install any apps from the market and run well.
(when stalling the Market, and stuck with vending.apk mounting (it always said"mount failed", I use Root Explorer instead of File Explore v.2.17.1, then it is ok)
2. After having the market done, I wrongly installed another KINDLE APP from the market into my Fire without thinking that this already pre-installed in KF no matter how we root it. However, when i run this, Kindle app still run well but I only can see the eBook that on my Cloud with Amazon but not all my ebooks that i copied in KF before.
I then tried copying all these ebooks to "/sdcard/kindle" like instruction of others, but my ebooks still cannot be shown on Kindle Apps
3. When I went to bed yesterday, I shut my KF down. This morning, when woke up, I turned it on, then I saw status "Installing the Updates....." automatically at start-up stage. When getting into the launcher (I used GO LAUNCHER EXPLORER V.2.7.0), tap into the Kindle Apps icons, nothing appear. It's freeze now.
4. I cannot not remove or uninstall the Kindle Apps (probably because it was pre-installed by Amazon in KF)
Please help.

What launchers are available out there which offer more than the leanback launcher? I noticed I cannot change wallpaper, live or static, display non-TV apps or change many other settings with it. Do you have any suggestions for others to try?
Unfortunately all which I have tried seem underdeveloped atm. Before Android TV there were already a bunch of mediocre 10-foot launchers for older Android-based boxes. It would be really nice to see somebody develop an improved version of the Leanback Launcher with added customization (like Nova Launcher vs AOSP's launcher), but I heard somewhere that the Leanback launcher isn't open source. It would also be nice for such a launcher to be made compatible with all Android TV and normal Android devices so that you could have the Leanback interface on things like like MiniX devices, Fire TV devices or even an old Android smartphone strapped to the back of your TV. @dhacker29 ported CyanogenMod 12.1 and later AOSP 6.0.1 to the Nexus Player where he included the Leanback Launcher with modifications to the UI and an option to change the background image, though I doubt that you can just extract the app and run it on the Shield.
Ive tried HALauncher on my shield tv (not rooted / stock firmware), that's pretty good. It allows you to choose wallpaper, change font colours, and arrange your own quick launch items. Only problem is that it wont show the Nvidia Shield hub items (game stream etc) except the store place. Its free so worth looking at.
If you like the style of Leanback but would prefer more control and ability to customise, HALauncher is the best option. It also supports mouse control too, unlike the truly awful and crippled Leanback.
If you prefer something a bit different there are numerous launchers out there. You have SquareHome.Tablet launcher. It's very good and allows a metro-like setup and can create some fantastic looking home pages if you put the effort in. Another is Launcher Lab, which has some fantastic effects. Although the downside of this is that you can't use a direction pad, which means it's mouse only. Total Launcher is worth a look too.
See the Minix Forum thread below for examples of what you can do. They're all on Minix devices of course, but there is nothing stopping identical home pages being set up on the Shield.

Hi! I just picked up a new HD 8 (2016) from Amazon on sale. The new HD 8 is noticeably quicker than the 2015 version, and a very nice tablet for light use. Web pages and apps load much faster now.
I spent far too much time trying to find the best threads for two mandatory mods I had to have: Installing Google Play, and replacing the Fire Launcher with Nova Launcher.
I finally found two good threads that had minimal stuff to install on my v5.3.1.0 HD 8, and both are working fine.
Of course, these are posts from other folks, and I don't take any credit for anything.
Google Play Installation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/amazon-fire/general/how-to-install-google-play-store-fire-t3486603
Replace Fire Launcher with Nova Launcher using LauncherHijack: http://forum.xda-developers.com/ama...hijack-custom-launcher-t3409531?tag=823814-20
After you install the Hijacker, you will go to the Accessibility >> Services settings, and enable the Nova Launcher and Detect Home Button options.
I am blocking Amazon updates to my HD 8 by following option #4 here: http://www.aftvnews.com/how-to-bloc...-the-amazon-fire-tv-or-fire-tv-stick/#opendns
I usually keep my HD 8 in Airplane Mode since I generally use my HD 8 as a book reader. It gives much, much better battery life, and prevents accidental Amazon updates if I'm not on my home network.
I read if you have a certain OS version that it may not work correctly. I installed the Nova Launcher and it Runs, but then it reverts to the normal Amazon screen, and I have to run nova launcher again. When I went through the Tour to install things, all of them failed, but when I went back to the normal Toolbox menu I was able to install Google Services, custom launcher.. but when installing Nova Launcher it installs, but it does not try to disable the fire launcher like it did in the Tour guided steps. When I bring up Nova Options it say click here to make default launcher, but when I do there are 3 options
Assist & Voice input
Browser App
and
Opening links.
will this happen no matter which launcher I try to install? Am I stuck with the amazon launcher? Is there no way around this? If I disable all amazon services will it disable? Hoping someone could give me some help on this. I don't know where to look to see which OS version I have. if I go to system options, Device Options, about fire tablet it only shows...
Device model Fire had 10 (11 Gen)
Serial Number

How do I change the launcher on HD Fire 10 (2019) (+ a few other questions)?
I've had a Fire HD 10 (2019) knocking around since black Friday, and I've finally got around to looking at it... I realise that it's not fully rooted, but does has some sort of temporary root... (from this thread)...
