Add it properly.
Appologies
Sorry for the confusion created, as it was my first post i did not strictly follow the rules , but I learn pretty quick.I could not quote the other forum cause it is allowed only once you have published 8 or 10 posts..That was just a rumour about that kernel apparentely being fixed I wanted to confirm with you guys , the pros!
Word of warning!
Word of warning ! for those who try to root thei galaxy note having this ROM what i just did , almost bricked the phone I followed Dr Ketan's guide to get root access when I flashed via 1,85 odin the file that was provided in guide, when the phone rebooted I got the message that google calendar is not accessible and something about google too, then when I try sing up with a google account when I was trying to type letters I was getting "null" word for each leter numbers were not affected, then I gave up and flashed GB with multiple CSC choice and now installing again the german version, no root yet !
If you have the "null" bug, it means your CSC is not set correctly.
If you had done a quick search you would have found plenty threads documenting this.
The easy fix is to use the dialer to access the CSC settings and set the CSC yourself.

Cheers!
Thanx for the reply I think so personally that I had phone with code XEU and Rom was from Thailand and I tried to root it , now I am back on a german one thanx! Maybe I will try again with this one to follow Dr. Ketan's advice! Cheerio!

Please remove warning, this is common issue. It may create unnecessary hype. Your device is not bricked.
If you hav posted it before doing anything it may solved it in just 5min.
If you find null anytime, just flash csc.with odin n use same rom as you used.for pda. Leave all pit, repartition, pda, phone field empty.
This is issue is not related to root.
This is due to wrong csc.

Not only you mate. Me too. End up I bricked my phone after I get that unsupported version.
I'm stuck in the world of 4.3 as well
I flashed in the Indian version before I knew the dangers. Now I can't revert to any other firmware.
if there isn't a decent fix for this I am done with Samsung for ever. We should be allowed to root our phones.
Hi, I root my Note 2 with MK1 using this file: CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip
1- Put your device in download mode
2- Open Odin3_v3.09
3- Turn off "Auto-Reboot" and in AP select the uncompressed file.
4- Flash CF Auto Root and after you see a blue message "RESET" in Odin
5- Immediately put your phone in recovery mode (Vol UP + Home + Power)
6- Install SuperSU

for me Samsung's Android 4.3 firmware has installed a locked down system and bootloader which prevents me from flashing in any non supported software. I get a fail as soon as I attempt to flash anything but the official version 4.3 which is currently installed.
I am hoping the response from the Android community is loud and strong, and that Samsung receives harsh feedback for taking such a hard stance on rooting and the use of unofficial roms on their phones. I have written to Samsung asking for clarification on their policy, and if there official response is that they will no longer allow users to root and or install other roms other than the official Samsung roms then I am going to sell my samsung phone and purchase a nexus 5, and never purchase another Samsung telephone again.
I think that Samsung should or for a download which will clear out the secure boot loader and system and allow users to install the firmware of their choice. I do like the official Samsung Android 4.3 firmware, but I need root to be able to add the tweaks that allow me to make the phone perfect for my use.
the following is my letter to samsung:
Re: Customer reference number: 2116477974

you are missing my point and did not address my issue. I understand that samsung does not SUPPORT unofficial firmware. I'm not asking for support. I'm asking for Samsung NOT TO BLOCK the installation of unofficial firmware.
As I stated previously, I would like to know whether or not Samsung is going to prevent owners of their telephones from installing whatever firmware they want. Right now I am stuck with the official version of Android 4.3, & I am NOT able to root it nor install another firmware. If this is samsung this official policy, to block users from installing the firmware of their choice I am going to sell this phone and I assure you I will never ever purchased another Samsung telephone.
You should be trying to encourage your users to be happy with your equipment. The enthusiast who for their own reasons want to modify your device should be encouraged. That should be a sector of the market that you would want to go after. After all, us Samsung owners are people who want to give you our money when we upgrade to your future devices. As it is right now I would never think of purchasing a note 3 because of your firmware policy. If you will not allow your users to install the firmware of their choice I will have no option but to purchase one of your competitors products. I could go into the reasons why I prefer to root my phone, but let me just say generally that it allows me to add or change features that allow the device to behave in a way and do things which are important to me, in areas where your official firmware falls short fit my needs.
Speculation on the web is that your policies are designed to curry favor in the business world where I teach departments would appreciate that your device is locked down. If that is the case, I understand that you are also turning your back on the consumer base who wants an open and modifiable device.
My belief is that you should allow the consumer user to have a more open and friendly device. I would appreciate it if you would allow users like myself to remove the restriction that your latest firmware has placed on our devices by blocking unofficial firmware.

It's impossible to downgrade to 4.1.2 if you have official Knox bootloader, I did not know when I flashed indian version that will come with Knox bootloader, now I have stuck to 4.3 but I have successfully rooted my Galaxy Note 2, I tried everything to downgrade via odin but it says - Fail !! unsupported version-
Welcome to my world
Welcome to my world, friend. I've been trying for a week now to bypass Knox. But no success. Tried all ODIN versions and every possible flashing file out there. Even the one by dr.ketan. Nothing seems to work. I've been getting the unsupported version message on the Odin screen. Which even led to the OS crashing a couple of times. Had to recover using Kies. As I understood, the fix by dr.ketan was for a leaked test build. and not for the original mk4. Seems to me that Samsung purposely leaked that build to see if anyone finds a fix for it. As soon as dr.ketan found a fix, Samsung fixed it at their end enhancing their own security to block this fix. But the good part is that the Knox counter hasn't gone past zero. :good:
That means that I can still approach Samsung and kill them for this.
Well, we just have to wait till someone finds a fix for this. I'm stuck on the stock rom 4.3 too. Pretty boring if you ask me.

Hello everybody
i'm a new user in this forum ,but i usually follow your new threads (about my phone).
after getting my Motorola defy (mb525) ,i was unable to unlock it but thanks to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483297) ,i unlocked it successfully and i'm enjoying it BUT!!!
in that thread i read that it works only with this base-band version "EPU93_U_00.59.01",so i say no problem with that i need only to receive calls and sms from my partners
but after getting deeper in application and android's system ,i found that i need to upgrade my device to a higher android system ... In my first steps i was unable to unlock my device due to the higher system android that shows me a different version of base-band that is not compatible with the guide below,so i downgraded my device to android 2.3...my question is:
is there any trick that gives me the possibility to ''save'' my unlocking files or file?! and upgrade my device to another android's version without doing the same job!!!!,is this device can be only unlocked if it has the old system of android ??...
i'm waiting for your answers ,Thank you for your support

It is a topic about this problem. Read it. On the short: you must change the baseband even if you use KiteKat (CM11) ROMs.
Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1483297&page=52
AFTER you flash the baseband changer. I use it and it work with PA beta2.
thank you pgreed
i wll give that a try ,can you give me what should i do in steps (1 2 3...) ,don't give me details just to begin .
because i tried to flash this zip calles from recovery (base-band switcher ) in different ROMs and i couldn't!!!

What I did is changing the indian stock firmware (3.1 Gb) to the Moroccan firmware (2.7 Gb) without root. Through Odin.
Apart from the Netflix app ( can be disabled) I didn't find any other bloatwares
I used adb's pm uninstall -k method to remove some built in mini system applications like Facebook manager, print services etc
Results = fully debloated without root access and without losing warranty or updates.

Thanks mate, i had problems trying to root, so after changing Csc , I decided that i will wait until they release the Android 10 on June 2020 (Samsung said that in the Samsung members App) I can't wait to experience OneUi 2 on this phone, then I will root inevitably ?
I'm so interested in lineage os too, I've used it before with good results, but unfortunately the A20 is not supported yet.
Have a great day

i get the same error. to elaborate on the error. it happens on the android device saying "SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 5, BINARY: 3"
Curious because my SM-T510 is currently running Android 11. With a build number of T510XXU5CWA1. Are you trying to downgrade the device? You may have a binary issue . Go into the settings, about device and see what your Build Number is. Different regions often use different binarys inthe firmware. I'll explain how to find your binary number. You gave this number as what youre trying to flash into it as "T510XXS3ATB4." (This is listed as the German version), The 3 is the binary number and if your build number doesn't have a 3 in it also (in the same place) you may have issues with flashing. I have some files for the device. A combination file T510XXU3ATF1 which meets your binaries. Another one listed as T510XXU5AUC1 and a fourfile of T510XXU5CVG2. You could go here to find all of the firmware available for the device, https://samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__Tab__A__-2019-__/kr8i/XME/T510XXS3ATB4/T510OLM3ATB4/

so im looking at your message and thinking about it. researched more about android binary. my android binary is U5. and what im trying to flash is U3. i tried to flash the combo binary but it says i need approval to flash it. why im trying to downgrade is im trying to flash a rom called ubuntu touch who someone made a fork of for SM-T510. but it needs LineageOS 16.0 and that needs that specific android version. im starting to guess that this is not possible?
