[Q] Stream music from PC to phone?

What's the best way to do this?
I was reading into uPNP. I got a uPNP plugin for foobar2000, and got it working for streaming stuff to my phone over the local WiFi network.
I tried to use PlugPlayer on Android to do this over the internet, couldn't get it to work though.
Does Winamp for Android do this? It says you can wirelessly sync with your PC, but that sounds like it downloads all your music to the phone, I just want to use my phone to browse a list of music on my PC at home, and stream whichever one I pick to the phone.
I'd like to be able to choose the bitrate I stream at also, the foobar2000 uPNP plugin has very good options here, I just need to find an Android app to play it
Hi, have u looked at audiogalaxy, im using that, sounds exactly what u need.

Want Google Play Music as default but Samsung Music takes over

This is mainly an issue with Bluetooth and plugging in headphones. For example....When I connect to my phone with Ford SYNC it automatically uses Samsung Music as the default player and starts to cycle through my saved ringtones. Very annoying as I have to physically open Google Play Music on the phone and start my selected playlist manually.
Is there any way around this? Play Music is the default player for all music types I have on the phone but that doesn't seem to matter either.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Remove it using titanium back app but u need to root first.

That's the problem. If I root I lose Sky Go so not an option.

Can't find Netflix in Play Store of my new Android TV/Nexus Player

I just got a new Android TV/Nexus Player device. And was able to find other media apps either installed as soon as I set things up or via going to the Google Play Store app in the Android TV device. But I have not been able to find Netflix. And when I go to Google Play using a PC web browser, the page for the Netflix app says that Netflix is not compatible with my "No carrier Asus Nexus Player".
Anyone know why? I've searched here and been unable to find an answer so far. I know there's the ability to side load apps. But being new to Nexus Player, I'd just like to get Netflix quickly installed via Play Store if possible.
Any help is appreciated.
Worked with Netflix support. Did a hard reset and entered my Google credentials manually. And Netflix is there now.
Just setup my Nexus Player... same issue. Netflix is MIA on the device and Google Play Store says Nexus Player isn't compatible.
Can you provide a bit more detail on the fix Netflix gave you? Hard reset what? The NP? Manually entered Google credentials? Where? TIA.

Reset to factory settings
After you reset to Factory settings, the first thing on screen will be a prompt for Language/Region. Be sure you pick the correct one for where you are, since Netflix won't work with some selections. I don't know which don't work. Mine is "English US". After that, you'll be asked to setup your Google account. Which you can do via web browser or entering your Google ID/password manually on the Nexus Player. I entered my manually on the Nexus Player.
I've attempted resets and manually entering passwords, disabling location, enabling location and still no luck.
This is a brand new out of the box Nexus Player yet I cannot access Netflix due to it thinking I'm "out of region" or something.
Just got mine today and same problem. What I did was go to settings>apps (under the device menu). Under system apps, find Google play store and click it. Click force stop and OK it. Clear cache, then clear data. Click open and Netflix should be there.
Same problem.
try update your Nexus player to lolipop 5.1.1 in Setting > apps > About
go on the google play website and find Netflix compatible with android tv
Same problem; updated to 5.1.1, factory reset, updated all apps, still no Netflix available on Google Play.
So I downloaded the APK found at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-player/help/netflix-apk-t3121671
and installed it. Worked perfectly.
It seems there are newer versions of the apk (http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/netflix-inc/) but I haven't tried it.
I don't have a micro USB adapter to use an external storage, so I placed the apk on a windows share in the network and pulled it with ES File Explorer on the Nexus Player.
You need to allow the installation of non-Play Store apps in Settings, Security.

Netflix will not show/install if it detects root

Just grab the APK file somewhere legit. That's what I did when it didn't appear in the Play Store. Maybe you can even request it from them. I dunno.

[Q] how to configure which app starts when car is connecting to my Note4?

Hi all,
How do I configure the autostart function? For example I have several streaming services (Wimp and Spotify) but whenever my car connects to my Note4 only Wimp is automatically started. I want Spotify to start. Or any other player for that matter.
Any way to configure that? Maybe with an external app?
Looking forward a solution for this as well. When connecting to my car the app Music starts and I want to set Google Music as default player.

Help&question

I had an interest about buying a Nexus Player recently, and I'm going to bring it back to my home in China. I'm wondering that does it work in China? I know some apps like Youtube, Google play and Netflix, won't work without VPN, but what about some base functions like voice search and system update? Does it work in China? Otherwise, in that case, I can't use Google play to install apps. Is Google Play the only way to install apps? I notice that Nexus Player has a micro usb port. Am I able to use it to connect to my computer? That way, I can try to install some apps into the player by apk packs in my computer. Thanks!
