V20 Stuck Headphone Sensor not working. - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I believe I fried my headphone jack independence sensor on my LG V20. I was using my phone in the truck with the phone charger and the headphone jack plugged into the amp. I used a different phone charger than normal and had much worse alternator noise. Not to mention the phone had problems detecting the input.
Now the phone thinks it's constantly plugged into an aux device.
I've replaced the headphone jack because I noticed it had inductors and resistors on it. Perhaps they got fried? No luck though.
Is there a way to manually override the headphone jack? Thanks for reading.

Bad sound via 3.5 mm Jack!!

Hi, I have been using Galaxy S2 for two months now. What bugs me is I cant use any other headphones with Galaxy S2.
When I connect other headphone or even my creative 2.1 speaker there is a major loss id sound volume and fidelity. its like a few bands have been wiped clean, some times vocals are prominent and other times the music or both are diminished.
I noticed that the galaxy 2 headphone has a visually different connector (splits position) than most of the 3.5mm pins. Is that the reason for poor output to my speakers and other headphone.
Is there any converter pin I can buy to fix this?
I use four standard non Samsung headphones with no problems .
You pushing the connector in.
jje
If your phone is in a gel skin or a case maybe the connector for the other headphones doesn't fit correctly and can't be pushed all the way down? When I plug my SGS2 into my car I have to remove it from the case because I can't push the 3.5mm jack in all the way.
If you've checked that already, or aren't using a case, the only other thing I can think of is the jack is faulty or there is dust in it. Try blowing in it or rapidly inserting and removing the headphone jack a few times? I use skullcandy earbuds and connect it to my car stereo and there is no issue for me.
^ Yeah. What he said.
You need to dare and push the 3.5 mm connector further in. Don't worry its not going to break.

N4 Stuck in headphones mode

Hi!
My Nexus 4 is stuck in headphones mode for a few months now. Sound on headphones is just fine. I tried cleaning 3.5mm jack, but no difference. I'm using SoundAbout app now to make phone usable, but it's anoying to manualy switch every time I plug in or out my headphones. I ordered new headphones jack from ebay for 8.95 pounds from UK (new user, can't post link)
I replaced it, but N4 is still stuck in headphones mode Before I replaced it I've done factory reset, but not yet after replacing.
Looking at the plug it seems like phone detects when headphones plug shorts two pins in connector that connects to the tip of headphones plug (pins are not shorted if connector isn't plugged in). It doesnt have a "switch" like some other connectors.
Phone was not even near water and I never dropped it on the ground.
What do you think it's wrong? Maybe damaged motherboard?

Left side still no audio after replacing headphone jack.

So I was driving to work and plugged my phone into what turned out to be a faulty car charger (the ground was lose and disconnecting). I was wiggling the charger around in the 12v port and got a lot of static and the left side audio went out. I have replaced the headphone jack/earpiece speaker but the problem persists, no audio out of the left side 3.5mm (except a little hiss or static) and audio is fine out of the right side. Anybody have any ideas? Could I have burnt something out in the phone not related to the jack? [I have tested multiple cables/headphones which I tested to be working, I have also checked the accessibility settings and my balance is set in the middle.] Thanks.

Hi Fi Quad DAC damaging AUX cables?

Hey everyone, I'm an LG V20 owner who loves my device, but I keep noticing that my AUX cables keep getting damaged when listening to music in my car. I thought I'd ask if anyone else was having similar issues. When I say "damaged" I mean that I either have to play with the AUX cable to get it to work or sometimes I only hear sounds from the left or right speakers. I have the Hi Fi Quad DAC enabled and I usually have the phone volume all the way to 75 (max) when I'm in the car. I've gone through at least 3 AUX cables and I'm assuming its either because of the Hi FI Quad DAC or because I have the volume too loud. Are there any good high quality AUX cables that anyone can recommend (preferably from Amazon lol)?
Not possible.
Damage to the cable would have to be physical, either you're using them in a way that stressed them and caused shorts, or you're just buying really cheap cables. You're sure it's the cables and not a problem with the headphone jack or the aux input in your car? Are the cables fully inserted? They're not coming loose?
I've used UGREEN cable in the past and they seem fairly robust
@thisisjason thanks for the response, the cables are fully inserted and not loose. I don't have any issues when I listen to music in my headphones so I'm blaming the AUX cables lol. I'll give UGREEN a try!
I've been using the same aux cable with my V20 since day one. This same aux cable has also been in use with my Nexus 6 it's entire lifetime. I doubt it is the DAC. 99.9% of the time, it's usually due to repeated bending in the same spot of the cord breaking wires. In fact, when used in a car we tend to always place our devices in the same spot which means any cords attached will bend... at the same spot, each and every time. This will lead to the wires inside breaking. Since they're in a sheath, they still stand a small chance of continuing to make contact. Which can make a signal come and go depending on how close the ends are.
If your headphones work fine then you should get a new aux cable, otherwise, it's the headphones jack
Strange, I recently posted about how an aux cable failed on me, I only got full volume / stereo from it when the phone was grounded through USB. Not plugged in, just ground to ground.
It's probably all just a coincidence coincidence since these cables often spend their lives in hot cars, It it's so.ething.
I thought i was the only one experiencing this but i figured its just cheap cables no more than $10. how can i raise volume to 100

Click to collapse
can't, when dac is enable, the volume should be louder so the max vol will be 75

No headphone detection, static sound on left side

Recently I was trying something with 3.5mm cable and that was big mistake :crying:
I plugged 3.5mm cable from my phone to faulty hi-fi system (didnt know). There was probably electro shock and now my 3.5mm jack won't recognize headphones.
Also there is static sound on my left speaker of headphones when I plug my headphones (I tried other headphones).
Replaced 3.5mm jack on my phone but problem still remains.
Music normaly plays through speakers of my phone or bluetooth. Means that audio chip is fine, I think.
Anybody knows what I can do except going to repairman? I dont have warranty & guarantee.
Thanks
