Note 4 S4 snapdragon best rom aicp - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please could an expert help me with following.
The reason for loading a custom rom is the syandard note4 android is too old to run many apps.
Ive been running note 4 samsung uk snaprdragon trite on aicp, from a year ago it now runs battery out if powered off from aicp, but doesnt run out if battery removed and replaced to shut off. (new batteries tried) I saw others were having this problem a while ago.
Is aicp the best stable rom
How do I find the latest version for samsung note 4 snapdragon, and samsung s4,
is aicp being updated for note4 from time to time
has the battery running down when powered off beenresolved
i see similar names like aikp is this aicp but newer
Is there a better rom for everyting working and stable.
I was following a thread on a real expert who was posting .. original note 4 rom deoxed, I assume this wouldnt run the latest apps requiring a modern android version, am I wrong? The original vesrsion rom but capable of running all apps and stable would be super option

stable Android 6.0.1 Rom?

Hi,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) and I am looking for a good Rom.
Since I am new to Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Modding I have no idea which Rom fits my expectations:
Android 6.0.1
Samsung Launcher/Theme (like on Note 4 with Android 6)
stable/fast/efficient
minimum of bugs
everything works which is not hardware limited (!S-Pen support!)
I already found out that NFC is often not supported. Thats no problem.
Can someone recommend me a Rom?
They are all posted here .

Im abit confused and hoping someone can help out.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N9005) and have always used the hlte CM12.1 nightly's - Are these the 'official' CM roms ? And the other custom roms in the development forum, are variants of the hlte but with their own themes or features?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-3/development
Like the user above, I just want a 'stock' CM rom but with the best battery life and as few bugs. I dont even care for the S Pen. Its a minefield, I'm hoping someone could please explain
Also the last nightly was from hlte was on 2016-07-10, does that mean no more updates? If so, how could I apply updated android security patches?

Need help with finding a custom ROM for Galaxy S4 - GTi9515

I have Galaxy S4 GT-i9515 Value edition (jfvelte) currently with cyanogenmod 14.1 Unofficial and it is terrible. My camera isn't working and apps are lagging and crashing and the phone reboots randomly.I use my phone as a daily drive and this is unacceptable for me.Since Samsung are "smart" and have released 800 different versions of the same phone, and with my luck i have the least popular version and even tho i have been searching alot i can't find any ROM at all.Can you guys help out,if you know a good custom ROM for my version,or if you know ROM for other S4 version, that will work on mine(probably not,i had already read the thread here and people are saying their touchscreen is not working).I love my S4 and want to get the maximum out of it,and having an custom ROM is just awesome, but in the worst case i will install the stock ROM.You guys are my last chance
Look through the pages of this section.
There should be a few ROMs there, though I believe most are android 5/6.

What's is your current daily driver? Or what's the best rom for s5 in your opinion

So our galaxy s5 is 4 years old now and it is still the main device of many users as we know there are great roms for this phone now snapdragon and as well as exynos so i want to know what is your current rom and why(post screenshot if you like to)
My daily driver is : dotOS 2.3.1
Why: cause it is fast stable and it's has latest version of Android(oreo) and some of Android P style and theme and the best part of it it doesn't lag no matter what you install
And also used nemsis reborn v5 and it is the best of s8(note7) port
Thanks
Hope you all replay

I use an LG G6 as my main device, but I use my S5 a lot... and I have to say Resurrection Remix (based on LineageOS/android 8.1.0) is amazing.... (I don''t use data, so I haven't tested that part) The UI is responsive, it runs great, super customizable, love it! (also kinda funny that the S9 doesn't officially have 8.1 yet, but someone made a ROM for 8.1 on the S5 :/)

Thanks for the reply
Yeah rr oreo is great also but they are really slow to bring updates to oreo ( i don't why) but in naught there was a lot of updates
Thanks again
stock rom, very stable, compatible and battery frienldy
My S5 is running still great !
Using it to type this. Running lineage 14.1 updated all the way to 15. Heard it was buggy so i didn't update to Lineage 15
Daily driver till September. Hah it for 3 years
Using almost a month: noise rom v4, sparkplug kernel, magisk manager and s health working great. Having little issues with bluetooth speakers/earpods (need to switch on/off 2 times to listen something), and battery duration it almost a day, with gps and sync turned on. If there any rom to use daily, that is noise rom :good:
How is the battery life compared to stock? Especially screen on time?

use a galaxy a8 as a daily phone and the s5 as a second phone use linage os 15.1 official; the phone is fuido like never before. thank you all for the hard work
For me, it's LineageOS. But I cannot use it due to some strange sound problems, that's why I'm looking for an alternative that has OTA update included.
The stock isn't that good because it's bloated, you cannot do much without root, and if you root the stock rom, you wouldn't be able to install OTA updates, you'll need a computer or something to make it manually, on S5 stock rom you mix the sdcard + manual to get more space. The only 2 things that the stock rom are good for, IMO, it's the battery.. it lasts longer. Also, the camera is better, using any ROM, even with xposed, you can't get much when talking about the camera. The stock will always be better than any available rom.
My daily driver was the "xXx NoLimits" -Rom, which is based on stock.
The main point why it was this rom is the battery drain. LineageOS 14.1 especially 15 has a very high battery drain, so I've downgraded to Stock Rom and was happy
I like it, that LineageOS has a very good performance and clean design, but battery time is everything for me
Another point is the camera, because the camera in LineageOS isn't that good like the stock camera from Samsung-Roms.
LineageOS based roms do have much features and are smaller but at the end the stock rom wins for me :fingers-crossed:
After some trouble and frustration I'll stick with Resurrection Remix 6.1 (Oreo 8.1). It uses much less memory, is stable and fast. Amazing. It feels like I got a brand new phone. The S5 is a decent device. I use it extensively and don't see any reasons why I should buy a newer model.

What's about battery drain?
I've made the experience that the battery life is very bad with Oreo Roms ?
I never liked stock based ROMs so the only ones I've actually used are TouchWiz ones and the best from those is Nemesis Reborn. But recently I decided to go back to stock S5 ROM to get the most out of my device as nothing beats the firmware with which your phone came when new. I'll be buying the Note 10 after the S11 comes out so will stick to my S5 for another 1.5 years, bought it in February 2015.
l have a crDROID 7.1.2 klte v3.8.5 rom on my s5 and it runs great.
lve tried a couple of 8.1 roms but for some reason everytime l turn on or restart
my s5 it takes about 30 seconds for it to get pass the Samsung Galaxy logo
before the boot animation comes on.
l dont know why it does that l'll stick with what works for me....
I use an S5 prime with lineage 14 as a daily driver. I struggled with the battery life for a while until I installed 3c toolbox. It does what it says on the tin.
The built in camera app doesn't work, but there are others that work. I'm not bothered about quality.

Which custom rom?

HI everyone.
I just bought some days ago a second hand device, which I had and sold in past.
I will be using it as a device for the college, so I will be using the pen a lot.
I noticed a lot of lag in apps like adobe reader and Microsoft onenote .
My question is , is it worth to install a custom rom? Will it be better? Or since I will use it as a "notepad" it's better to keep the original firmware (and so the Samsung Note apps)?
If you recommend me to install a custom rom, which one?
Thank you in advance.
I assume you bought a Note 10.1 2014 Edition, which is why you posted here. The final official Samsung firmware was Android version 5.1.1. You should have that stock version on your Note. If so, you are fine with the stock v5.1.1 for your purposes. Andy 5.1.1 is old ... but for simple functions like taking notes and doing school work, that version is good for another year or two. BESIDES it is not easy to find and install a custom rom for the Note 10.1 2014.
For the LTE model P605 there's LOS 14 & 16 from the same dev, which both qualify as daily driver. The older LOS 14 recently got an update, the newer 16 not, that's why i mentioned the old stuff, too.

And for the P600 WiFi model, what specific ROM would you recommend?
I shall appreciate a recommendation.
I can only speak for the p605. In the past there was more development for the p600, as it sold in higher quantities, so i got jealous. Recently users were complaining about lack of support.
I been flashing my sm-600 wifi for 5 years now, here is what I experienced. I have tried all roms for my device and it seems no custom rom charges as fast as the lastest stock roms even though it's 5.1. the nougat roms and the couple marshmallow roms all charge very slowly. I have tried different cables and chargers and even a new battery only to find out that it was the roms. I used Accu battery to finally figure that out. So stick with stock, all apps and Samsung browser work just fine and it will charge in half the time with a 2.0 charger. I also removed all Google apps and download and upgrade my apps though apkmirror and all work just fine with stock rom, I hope this helps.

Most Stable ROM for SM-T530, aka matisse, aka Galaxy Tab 4 10.1"

Question for those who have been testing ROMs on Matisse (Galaxy Tab 4 10.1" SM-T530). Which ROM is currently most stable for a daily driver?
a) lineage-16.0-20200415-UNOFFICIAL-matissewifi.zip from matteo026
b) lineage-17.1-20200419-UNOFFICIAL-matissewifi-Unsweetened-XDA-BUILD.zip from DJABHipHop
c) lineage_matissewifi-ota-eng.android.zip <-- What exactly is this one? It was in the same directory with other ROMs from DJABHipHop
d) some other ROM
I'm mainly looking for stability (as in, doesn't crash too much) and security (patches for known major vulnerabilities)
Thanks all
j
I also have a SM-T530NU. I've run the Lineage 16 and 17 ROMs. Unfortunately you're going to have to temper your expectations. This is an old tablet. I'm amazed that Android 10 runs on it at all. You're not going to find both stability and recent vulnerability updates. If you want stability, use the old stock ROM. If you want new, the Lineage 17 ROM runs but crashes/reboots far too frequently to use daily.
Try them. Flashing this thing is straightforward.
