Just to share some finding (if it is not yet been widely been a known issue) about the Phone App of Galaxy S when using with Launcher Pro.
I was very frustrated by the Phone App comes with the Galaxy S, when I get my Galaxy S, I use Launcher Pro right the way, there is a Phone shortcut on the dock, which I didn't alter it and use it from the beginning.
I eventually discovered that when I launch the Phone App every time, it will goes to the dial pad screen, instead of the call log screen which I left the Phone App last time, I was thinking of this is a bug of the Phone App since there is no setting on the Phone App for choosing which screen to startup, so I was searching if there is any alternative but there is none in the market better than the stock one.
My friend just show me he his Galaxy S using ADW Launcher, and when I open the Phone App on his phone, it goes back to the call lock screen, woo! That is what I'm looking for, but how did he do that? He said he did nothing, so I go to download ADW Launcher right the way and I got the same result, probblem solved!
However, I personally prefer Launcher Pro more, and seem that is not the problem of the Phone App itself but between the Phone App and Launcher Pro, so I launch back Launcher Pro again and try. The same problem appear again, so I launch the Phone App from the drawer when using Launcher Pro, the problem gone too!
So, I try to hold on the Phone shortcut on the dock, re-assign the shortcut to launch the Phone App, it launch properly now.
So the original phone shortcut seems to be having some problem, maybe calling something else which is equivalent to the Phone on the original shortcut?
Anyway, re-assign the Phone App to the dock will solve this.

I also had to do the same for contacts icon (was not assigned to the contacts app).
guess the shortcut was not calling the phone app but was calling the default calling applications
like when you launch the app normally , it asks the phone to launch the app
when you use that shortcut , it tells the phone you want to call
With the swipe function in the dock, u can have the best of both worlds.
The default press brings me to the dialer, while swiping up bring me to the call log provided it was last closed in that position.
i have a USB connection problem with Kies when is Launcher pro can be connected when using Kies no problem is there any fix for this ?
Samsung Kies will not work with any other launcher other than the default TWLauncher. You will need to switch back the default launcher to the TWLauncher before you can connect under Kies mode. You can download an application called "Home Switcher" to change the default launcher. To play safe, reboot after change the default launcher.

The best way to do this to alwas get the call log is this:
Use the default Launchpro icon to get to the dialer, which i find is great. Then change the swipe gesture to launch an activity and the activity is part of the phone app and choose the log option tab...i think it is the first or second choice.
That way you have the best of both worlds
Swipe up for sure. I use it for launching contacts. Such a handy feature, really improves productivity.

Anyone know what activity uses Launcher Pro to open dialpad directly?
I want to use that shortcut with ADW, but i can't find it in activities. I managed to open dialpad from a shortcut with the activity: Contacts -> Contacts(.TwelveKeyDialer), but dialpad is opened without tabs at the top (Phone, Call log, Contacts, Favorites).
How can i find what shortcut command Launcher Pro uses for opening dialer?
After rooting my VS980 (using the ioroot method), every time I reboot my device I loose the stock launcher. It will boot directly into Nova Launcher with no option for a different home. A quick check with root explorer shows both LGHome files present in /system/app with the proper permissions. Does anyone have a clue why this would happen?
History... before achieving root I copied over both LGHome.apk and LGHome.odex files to my /sd to have for later modding purposes using Solid Explorer. This is the only thing I can think of that would cause the issue. The only way to get the stock launcher back after each boot is to copy over the LGHome files from my /sd back to /system/app and overwrite the ones in place. Then after hitting home on the Nav bar it will ask which launcher to use and I the option to choose "Home" or Nova.
If anyone can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it. It is getting to be a nuisance copying files over at each boot... Thanks!!

Maybe this: first go to settings/Nova Launcher and Clear defaults. When you choose the launcher (Home button) you want, a pop up will appear asking you the default action (I mean Nova or stock launcher), don't choose "always" for Nova...
So at boot (and when pressing the Home button) you'll have the choice for the stock launcher or Nova (but not very convenient each time you press the Home button)...

I have never used Nova as the default launcher on my G2, only tried it out since it was my go-to on the GNex. I always have Nova cleared out and "Home" selected as my default launcher. I've even tried going into Nova's app settings and clearing all data and cache (no defaults were set). On reboot Nova would still load as my only option. I've thought about uninstalling Nova then rebooting to see what would happen... but I'm a little scared that I would have no interface with the UI. I do have a CWM backup though. Thanks for the reply.
Settings, application manager, menu, reset app preferences. You will have to reconfigure all defaults and disabled after.

No dice, already tried that. Thanks though.
Maybe I'm not being clear with explaining the issue. It's not about "how to" set a different default launcher, it's that the stock launcher is GONE on reboot. Like not accessible at all. The only way to get it back is to replace the LGHome apk and odex in /system/app ...per boot. But of course I loose data every time I have to do this.

Agreed. This doesn't make any since to me... Depending on how many beers I have during the MNF game tonight I may just chance it and install Nova, reboot and see what happens. I guess I could always unroot and see if that fixes it too...
Thanks guys for the suggestions but something not obvious is working at boot to mess with Home. I'll try hooking it up to adb later and watch the output to see if I can see something weird going on at boot

I love the new setup. Its not so cluttered and "NO ADS"! Sorry for the glare of the window.
Can't activate HAlauncher to be the default Launcher. When I try to activate it in both apps "Hijack v3" and "target Home launcher" it gets back to the stock Amazon Launcher. I can start HALauncher manually.
I use a Fire Tv 2 with root

Works! Need to set another Launcher after "target home launcher" was the default launcher. After that, I can choose HALauncher as default launcher!

I am on FireOS 5.0.5 and this method does not work, the home button detection just does not work, I can set the default launcher but home button does not bring you to it!

can you be more specific? Hijackv3 is recognizing HALauncher as a launcher?? can you select it? if not try with target home launcher...

I have now tried on 2 separate 1st Gen fire TVs and neither works using your method.
You can select the modified Hal launcher in launcher hijack but when you press the home button it does NOT bring you to the Hal launcher only the normal FireTV launcher.
I can't be any more specific than that and also the same with Target Launcher, you can select it but it will not bring you to it when pressing the home button
Does this work with FireOS 5.2.6.2 ?

how the hell do you customize the lists? if i select an app and click add it says select a target group, if i click the group and an app it says the same. If i click a group everything under that category comes
edit: nvm can't edit the default groups.

the question would be, if the amazon launcher is being loaded in the background consuming RAM. For a alternative launcher, test the very slim "AppStarter 4.0". Keen to know if hijack works with the latest FireOS Updates

I'm trying to find firmware for this. It was made for a VW Jetta/Golf/Passat.
I cant find the wiki some others have mentioned in other posts related to the factory settings. I am able to get into factory setting using the 8888 code. I would like to know what each setting does before I start messing with them. Such as the power option, "On" and "Remember last". The radio clock keeps the last time the car was on, not the current time (edit: Fixed clock). I also need to find some information about changing the interface buttons to what I want or using a launcher that can still use the FM Radio.
I installed a couple of launchers to try out. Carwebguru so far is my favorite, but it has its limitations. I can't link native "phone", "radio", or "videos" apks.
I installed Nova Launcher Prime to try and build my own themed launcher but the same thing has happened. Can't find the native apps. I tried creating a widget with the menu and selecting the Nova actions, apps actions, and shortcut actions. I found the phone and etc. apps but when I would tap the icons nothing would happen.
I have tried to install other phone and contact apps ie. Phone by Google and an app called Contacts. The apps opens and my contacts are there, but when I tap on a contact I get an error at the bottoms that says something like "app isn't installed" or "No app to open contact". I am able to make calls using "Hey Google" and telling it to call a contact. Why does carwebguru give the options to use these shortcuts to things it can't use?
I can live without FM radio since I can save a collection of music and stream some.

Try this radio.apk. I used it in FCC launcher and it works on my Pumpkin Single DIN. Speedfire is still working on integrating into his quickplayer in FCC.

I'm going to give it a try when I get off work. I was trying to get Nova launcher to open the radio app, but that didn't happen. I did find the Bluetooth for calls and music though.

How did you get the Bluetooth to work in a launcher. I am missing that functionality.
I used Nova launcher to find the system apk for the Bluetooth. My head unit has Bluetooth music, phone calls, and contacts all in one. I will have to see what it was called. Once I found it in Nova launcher, I was able to locate it in carwebguru in order to add it to the home screen.
Edit: the name of the app was: com.ts.MainU

I bounced back to the standard launcher to get a base idea of what it will do. It has a dialer and phone connection, but it does not seem to be able to use Google contacts as the phone book and launcher. What are you using for a contact list?
Just installed my 10inch head unit.
When i try to open torque pro / real dash, the OBD is connected but cannot connect to the ECU.
On my phone i torque / realdash is working fine.
I've tried :
- changing BT passkey to match obd : 1234, again this is not a problem with the connection.
- changing the obd protocol, tried numerous options no dice.
Headunit is Allwinner 8core K2501 2gb ram 32gb rom.
Was torque purchased on playstore.
What does reseller suggest

Yes, i have torque pro from my old tablet. Reseller have no clue. I wonder if this is a hardware issue (incompatible with Allwinner soc). Tried every OBD app in playstore, it doesn't connect, funnily the head unit has a OBD pair utility, still cannot connect in app, paired or not.

Install the launcher, press home and when it ask you to select launcher, click set as default so it will never ask you again.

Its the OBD dongle problem, you may get OBD dongle that does not support your car ECU protocol. Try to get OBD dongle v.1.5 or v1.4. If you still have problem, either your car did not support the OBD or it locked from car factory.

You get the new K2501 version that did not permit to set other launcher as home app, I also get the same version, still looking way to mod it, probably need to set the android head unit to device usb from host usb and connect it to other device to edit it, in order to change the settings .

I have the same unit and there is a very easy workout. Go to car settings app search for the option called WHITELIST, add the launcher app in whitelist and confirm the same, your problem will be solved..

You might need to set it as default launcher first then go to apps in settings and enable all permissions to the launcher. Hopefully this will solve
