Hello everyone, I have a 2.5 year old RN7 running the latest version of LineageOS (Android 11) and I'm struggling to get more than 5 hours of screen on time, and I have to charge my phone every day. Below is a screenshot I took a few days ago of the battery usage from 100 to 3%.

This is weird because there doesn't seem to be any particular app that's draining battery and when I first got my phone and was running MIUI 10 and 11 I had no issues reaching 8h of SOT and I remember I charged my phone every 2 days. Could this be an issue with the ROM?
Thank you very much!

I did. Auto brightness is always off and I set my brightness right in the middle except when I'm in the sunlight. This is yesterday's battery usage.
In this case it kinda seems like Plex was draining a lot of battery for some reason, but I almost never use plex and I always get around this SOT vs the 8-10 some people show here with their RN7. I'm considering switching back to miui to see if that fixes it but I'd rather leave that as a last resort.

I see, thank you for the link. I'm really not sure about the SOT I got right when I got the phone and I was running MIUI, but what I do remember clearly is that I could reach the end of the day with maybe with 60% and I was able to charge my phone only every 2 days. Now that's not the case anymore.
For sure 5H 30M SOT still a very good value for an 2,5 years old battery.

The image speaks for itself, but I'll add some info. I have a SetCPU profile for screen off that sets it to 245 min and max, and I haven't been using the phone hardly at all the past two days. Wifi has been on the entire time.
Normally, after 8 hours of light use, my phone would be dead with Android System taking up about 40% of the battery, and the three radio entries taking up about 16% each.
I've been using CyanogenMod 6.1.1 since the day it came out, with it's built-in kernel, not Pershoot's. I've done nothing else custom. The only thing that I can correlate with this change in battery life is a new version of SetCPU came out a couple days ago.
Or maybe it's just an unrelated fluke, and tomorrow whatever battery-eating bug exists in the system will rear its ugly head again. I dunno. All I know is I've never seen battery life like this on my G2.
101% yaaaaay I can add
What on earth!?

Screen not even registering as using any?
most of my usage is screen for 60%+ (maybe 2 hrs on)
and 15~18 hours tops!
You still geting great battery life I have the same setup and battery life is average not as good as 6.1
I do not mean to highjack your thread but I have a question. For the cell standby power consumption, what is registered as the amount of time with no signal? I am in a full HSPA+ area and it still tells me that 50% of the time my phone has no signal, how is that possible? Thank you for your responses.
I managed 56 or 59 hours once and the display wasn't on the list either. I mentioned this in another thread but it was generally ridiculed and dismissed
i lose about 50% of battery with hspa on during a 8 hour shift. Of course random facebook and texting is going on.
I noticed an improved battery life with the unofficial Gingerbread builds. Did Google finally get it right?

That has been my experience, though I'm still stuck using the stock HTC sense since I updated to 1.72 before rooting.
Whenever I check battery use, the Display is ALWAYS the highest consumer, by a large margin. I usually see 60-70% Display, and the cell standby, etc are only a few percent. Now I'm really upset I can't root it for the forseeable future.
Did you just not ever touch the phone at all? I mean, the display isn't even listed!!?!?
As I said, I was barely using the phone at all.
Right now I'm at 95% after 10 hours of non-use. I don't remember this ever being possible in the past.
Even when I actively use the phone (at least in the past) Display would never be very high. Android System was always #1 with the radios beneath that, and Display somewhere around 6%, as I recall.
In the time it took me to write this post mostly in Swype, I lost 2% so my crazy battery life seems limited to the screen being off (with the corresponding very low cpu speed). Still, it's never been this good before.
lol the title is hilarious just had to say

I bet the lcd being not used plus wifi instead of 3G is the reason. Plus, I think it's witchery not wizardry, lol! Maybe both... whatever they are both hilarious! Ah, the days of yore!
I noticed this process in my battery useage statistics, what is this, I searched couldn't find nothing about it, thanks

I have never got more then 3-4 hours of SOT on my G2, i've used it for almost 2 years now. There were occasions where i got 5 hours of SOT, but those were exceptions(On Wifi, with very low brightness).. But then I'm a heavy user - lots of apps installed, around 2 hrs of music on my daily commute, Lots of time on G+/Instagram/Twitter/FB & 1-2 hours of calls. This combined with flashing of new ROMs every month or so. People posting 4-5 hours of SOT usually have lots of options disabled - Reduce brightness settings to lowest, Sync background data disabled, GPS disabled, On WiFi all the time, etc..
@mistororange Anything more then 3 hours of SOT, while you are using your phone through 3g/4g networks is pretty good, in my opinion. Only if you see drastic reduction in your battery life, then you should worry.
Hi everybody. I recently purchased a S7 Edge, coming from an OPO. I wanted a top range smartphone and I choose it because of the enthusiastic reviews I had read on the Internet, especially about camera and battery. While I've been very happy about camera, it's absolutely not the same about battery.
The phone doesn't last more than 12-15 hrs of light use (no games, no 'heavy' apps, no Bluetooth, screen brightness at about 30%, most of background backup disabled). This morning, after a full-night charge, it dropped from 100% to 99% just in a minute of Twitter browsing.
I checked in the stats and apparently there is no app draining the battery; yesterday the top energy consumption came from the screen.
In addition, it gets easily warm on the screen and on the back (not hot), and I'd like to know if it is normal. I'm using it without any case, just as I did with my OPO, but the latter has always been cold, even during heavy use.
I'm posting some screenshots about the battery stats in my Settings

Need more than 10 minutes of battery stats to make any judgement. I suggest you post the stats from 100% until ca. 10%, with your normal usage.
It will give a better overview. Other monitoring apps will give much more detail, but start with this.
Are you rooted?

Do use the Samsung and Microsoft app? What country are you in someone from your area might be able to shed light on warranty situation after tripping Knox.
If tripping the Knox flag has no effect on your warranty (like here in NZ). You could look at installing a ROM.

4 hours is reasonable, person with 6-8 hours SOT will highly likely have different usage to you.....
Turn brightness down, install another kernel, don't use high demanding apps as much, close and turn things off when not using, use power saving apps etc
I can't believe that my mi mix 3 has only 3200mah battery

Any special settings to get this SOT?
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I'm getting 8-10 hours of SOT
~Global Rom No Root
Power savings mode enabled.
CPL (Pixel Launcher with theme changed to black in the settings)
MIUI Android Pie Dark theme (Makes the system menus Black)
Legam Black Icon Pack
Kiwi Browser with Night mode
Youtube with dark mode
Google APK ports from the Pixel with dark mode.
No GPS, No Data, No Bluetooth, WIFI only
Solid Black wallpaper.
50-75% brightness
I also had battery issues. Sas barely.using phone and in half a day telephone asked for.charging. whaat i did was disxharge to shut down then charge to 100% without turning on the phone. It helped a lot. Ove read aomewhere that this method is food once a year for phone battery because it helps to calbrate the energy levels in the battery.
Also it.is good. to use as dark pixels.as u can becausw.the.brighter the more.energy ia going to be used.
Also disable.services you dont need(wifi, gps, mobile data, nfc, bluetooth background processes, anything thhat is using your battery energynto.work.
With advices in this.thread you can prolong your battery by like 40%. Can confirm that it.helped me.
Just do.some reasearch on enerfy saving in a smartphone.

I've got mine for around 3 days and the battery don't last even half a day, it usually lost 10% in 2h. while in idle, I have AoD, Bluetooth and data, but I'm quite sure that it's not normal.

I have MIUI 10 Global Stable, last update.
In the meantime I turned off AoD and now it's fine, I've found out that the screen never turn off even when inside the pocket.
I was able to get 6 hours of sot
I recommend disabling the option to use adaptive battery, at least it improved here after I deactivated it.
On PE I was able to get 8 hours of SOT right now I'm testing out AEX seeming it was March security patch I'll keep you guys updated on it
Edit: same with PE around 8 hours of SOT

after that the SOT decreased, and only giving mein around 8-9 hours.
Is this battery depletion or their software ****up?
Whatever it is, is this normal?
