Hello,
I found an old J3 that was kept in a drawer since purchase. It now runs stock android 5.1.1 and I wondered what could I install on it without being too adventurous with roms.
Thanks

5.1.1 is the newest on easy-firmware. Don't know if there are custom ones or not.

Hello everybody. Any chance for port Touchwiz from s7 to our s3? This ROM looks beautifull <3
I know kernel for touchwiz is hard to compile but we have good developers so they can try. I can pay for this rom and kernel. PRIV
First, we need working LP port of touchwiz that is funcional ;D
Hey there @LaweK,
What You are currently looking for is already available.
HyperRom -
Hands Down the best touchwiz rom for GT i9300,Im currently using it and couldnt be more satisfied.
However this rom is running on android 4.4.4, and not marshmellow, However the Android Version didnt affect me at all as it was impossible to guess that this rom is 4.4.4 due to the features and its UI, that almost completely mimicks the s7 marshmellow features.
Anyways, I Fully Recommend this Rom To Anyone who owns a Galaxy s3 and prefers the original samsung UI.

I don't like hyper-rom v6, I tested it two days and it was really buggy for me, android 4.4.4 is the past generation of android. I consider since lollipop is a different android so we need to work together to get a good lollipop or marshmallow tw rom for our device.

Well Different Opinions I guess, However HyperRom Was not at all buggy for me nor was it slow [Im also Still using it with no issues.]
Anyway There`s Also Another Touchwiz Rom Ive used Eclipse Rom Together With The Ultimate Marshmellow Mod. Just thought you should know, It is beautiful however proved to be more buggy for me.
Anyways I dont think we are to expect a Android Marshmellow Touchwiz Rom For The S3, Lets Face it This Phone is now 4 years old and we should be suprised on how much support it is still getting.
We Barely Have An Android Kitkat Touchwiz Rom, So we are to get a Lollipop Touchwiz Rom, before Marshmellow, So it Might Take Either a lot of time to happen or it may not happen at all.
Anyways CM13 and CM13.1 Is available right now that is with android marshmellow, So you can try that too if you want.

I once read that someone was porting lp 5.1.1 from a s5 rom. He said that it booted it with lots of bugs and it would not even be in alpha. I'm still searching for that forum I canĀ“t find it . I'll give you a link when I find it :fingers-crossed:
Probably it willl be very hard to port S7 TouchWiz (too RAM consuming), it might be partially ported in future but I suppose it would be slow and buggy.
Can we solve the camera problem by upgrading s3 to s7?
Hi guys! I'm searching android 6.1 ROM for my Galaxy Core Prime [SM-G361F]. You know where I can find it?
Thanks.
Nope. At the moment, there's no Marshmallow ROM (custom or official) for G361F.
Yeah we have to wait.
Did someone start to make them already?
This would be great, Marshmallow looks better than the cancerous (my opinion) Lollipop firmware, but I think that actually no developer want to really work on this model. Bringing root and a recovery was the minimum, then to go further you can install XPosed for custom builds but creating custom or adapting stock ROMs? Nah.
Well, recently I've moved from Galaxy s4 to Moto X Play and everything is new here for me becoz Exynos and Snapdragon are very different so flashing procedure is also different.
Currently I'm on stock unrooted android 6.0.1, and I want to know, is this device worth customization?
If yes then....
1. Which recovery is the best? (i didn't find official TWRP)
2. Which rom should i try first?
3. Does it support xposed Version 87?
4. There is lots of CM based roms, can anyone provide me bug list of CM based roms.
And most important thing, in case of bootloop or soft-hard brick then where can i find updated stock firmware?
If anyone give me answer of my questions, I'll really appreciate it.

Thanks for ur reply, and what about xposed?
i don't use it, but I guess you can't with N rom, but a MM one, cm13 is very good and recently patched if you need MM
BTW i didn't find official TWRP for X Play, Link that u provide is not official build.
Is this fully functional?

I'm come from samsung where rooting and flashing is so easy, also firmware news and new updates is easy to find on sammobile.com
Is there any website like sammobile where i can easily find official up to date firmwares for Motorola devices??
Hi all,
I recently tested my S5 with LolliPop (Stock), Marshmallow (Stock) and Nougat (Custom) and downgraded to KitKat again to see which one has the best performance.
KitKat is running about 2 months smoothly and super fast.
So, I'm just curious about security. It's ok to use it?
Do you know others disadvantages?

Whatever patches were applied to that OS might be the only security you will have until you upgrade. I know one of the biggest problems for me with older OS like that is some apps are not compatible with older versions of android. I know a lot of google apps stop working at 4.2 so you should be ok.

Just curious, how much memory do you have available with KitKat?
e.g. on a 16GB S5 running 6.0.1 Marshmallow, I have 11.3GB available to apps.
Thanks.
Can anyone guide me through installing a solid rom from the beginning? The last pie update was great but doesn't seem up to par any more and I'd like to enjoy my phone to its fullest.
I've searched and links no longer work and I've read through hundreds of posts without finding new ones.
My impression is CYANOGENMOD ROMS would work for me.
I also use google apps which hopefully can still be installed and used.

Assuming that your s8 active is snapdragon? If so. you're unlucky. There are no custom roms for snapdragon variant. However if you have an exynos version there are many custom roms for it. Cyanogenmod roms were renamed to lineage os. So I think the roms you are looking for is lineage os

I have snapdragon. Thank you for letting me know so I don't have to keep searching.
Any thoughts about using the s8 active now? It seems safe enough but I don't really know :/

Well s8 is quite a phone in 2022, if you're bored of it, you can try rooting it and customizing it
So it is possible to root it and then flash a customized rom?
Will a customized rom be faster or more secure than 9.0?

You can root it, however a room cannot be flashed, it has to be built for a specific device. Customized ROM offer more security than normal roms they can also offer an increase in Performance, since they keep up with android patches.
Thank you again for your insight and help with this
I was looking at a thread that seems to offer a custom rom for the s8 active.
