Has anyone tried the Pixel fingerprint sensor features on the a2017u?
Yup it works nicely. Using it to turn the screen off ?
Remember to disable power management policies on the app
I'm using it. Works good, I use it to pull the notifications down.
What about battery consumption ???

It has almost no impact on battery. Very well optimized app.
The newest Gravity Box update also includes fingerprint launcher functionality now for everyone who wants to have more possible options to choose from.
How does one go about installing this?

Camera app settings aren't kind of working for the thing I want to do.
Yes, I CAN turn off the beauty mode when I am taking a selfie, but I CAN'T pick whether I want my face to be beautified while I am using skype video call for example or not. Thats what I want, thats why I told you that my phone is rooted, if its possible to make some adjustments in the root directory to disable it completely.
I dont want my face to look smooth and unnatural while I am making a video call.
Hopefully you can understand me what I want. ?
Thanks for your advice though, but that is not working for me.
I have the same problem please help
Hey everyone, you already know about the QR scanner bug in Pie. Well, I've discovered it's cause. And the cause is HAL3 (Camera2API). After disabling ? 2API, the WhatsApp can scan QR codes easily. This means either HAL3 is not properly supported by this device or lacks some permissions. For proof, I've attached a screenshot.
So, devs had added an "In-app focus fix" switch that's based on this theory. Turning ON the switch (disables HAL3) help to scan QR codes.
By default, it is disabled so that gcam can work.
{This toggle is present in some PIE ROMs in Settings>System>LeEco Extras}. THANKS TO DEVS for this switch.
It's a very good switch if used wisely.
If this helped, then please tap the Thanks button
please, can you tell me how I can do this?

Any ideas about how it could be solved? And is this bug present on other HAL3 enabled pie ROMs on other phones?
Cause is discovered, so chances for fixing it are increased now!!

On pie ROMs, HAL3 is enabled by default. To disable, root your phone, download build.prop editor from play store. Grant it root permission. Search "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" change the value from 1 to 0. Reboot and check, it should scan. But gcam and sd cam will not work after disabling it. You need to download any 3rd party cam and manage with less picture quality.
Wow you're right! It indeed fixed the issue . Gcam is still working for me at full quality though!

Q. I'm experiencing force close in GCam and in the stock camera in latest updates of some pie ROMs like AEX, arrow, havoc etc. How to fix it?
A. It's not an Rom bug. Turn OFF the "In-app focus fix" in Settings > System > LeEco Extras.
Q. Ok, then what's the use of "In app focus fix"?
A. Read the first post of this thread carefully.

Hi, I have rooted my phone and used a File explorer (Root Explorer) and proceeded to rename all the camera related audio files located at /system/media/audio/ui to .old
After a reboot I tried to see if the sound is gone but it is still there.
Following some old guide I found here I tried to find system/csc/feature.xml but it does not exist at all (nor the file nor the folder CSC)
I know a work around is to use a bixby routine to enable DND as long as the camera is open but considering that I am rooted I wanted to find a solution (not a work around)
I tried using Magisk Modules but they don't work either.
I am using Android 10

Ummm there's a setting for shutter sounds right within camera settings. See attached photo. Unless yours is different because Exynos. Mine is US Snapdragon on Android 10.

Hi! thank you for replying this thread. I thought it would be obvious but the option is not there for me (I have Exynos)! Not everybody has the option to do it and that is why I rooted my phone, tried a few methods (described in my post) but none of them work... damn shutter sound is still there
I have not found a solution either, right now just using some bixby action to put the phone in silent mode when the camera app is open

I feel like there should be some ADB command to activate the option in camera settings, but not sure what it would be.

Hi....well, it is not necessary to put the whole device into silent mode because of the camera shutter sound .... Bixby Routine does that part great....

I feel the same! the option it is there (hidden) we just gotta figure out how to make it visible. Was hoping somebody here would have the answer.... I guess the big fishes are busy
You could always just turn the system volume sound to 0
You still have notifications, ringtone, media and bixby sounds.

But nobody knows if the option is hidden or removed by default because of the obvious people trying to take inappropriate or illegal photos without consent. Just like recording phone calls, the option isn't available by system only 3rd party apps. Even though in my State its legal to record without consent any phone call in which i am a party to. Under the surveillance and devices act 1999. Yet Google decided to just kill the option globally.
I'm using an app from GG Play store to mute the camera app. It works just fine
Hello to everyone,
I hope someone could help me, i need to record any phone call that i make/receive, the phone should record the call without messages to the caller about the phone call is recorded.
Did someone can tell me how can i do this? i have seen that one option is to root the device but if someone have other suggestion is better for me than root the device.
I have also tried this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...cord-phone-calls-from-the-phone-line.1441643/ but use the microphone so sometimes there are very noise.
Bye

Yes. I am in the same situation. The only things I can think of are, 1. A call recorder app. or, 2. Using a different dialer, say from a Oneplus phone. But I'm still looking into it. I have been using a call recorder app that seems to work somewhat okay but not that great.
I Hope Simeone could help US..
I have also seen that changing the phone app Is not the solution because some apps uses CSC

That's good to know because I was going to try it. The thing is, depending on what version you have, call recording is built in. So that tells me that all variants could have it built in maybe ? Not sure but I am continuing to do research when I have the time.
Yes, I think that every android phone have this functionality, the problem is that phone app use CSC to enable o not, this is what I have understand

I know that on some newer OnePlus phones you can change the dialer to get call recording. I would think that the Nothing Phone would be similar but at this point I'm totally unsure.

I tried to install it already but it won't install. Says phone needs to be rooted. But now that I'm thinking about it, I did install that app on a non rooted oneplus 7t before. Just have to give it permission via ADB. I think i might try it again and see if I can get it to install..
Correction. I tried to install just the joneplustools. This one is different.

Not really. I do have two apps installed that are recording calls pretty good ! One of them I installed from Google play called Call recorder. And the other one is one that I came across in one of the posts for the Nothing phone. I have both running at the same time and both are recording calls pretty good. However, I would rather have the inbuilt option.
I'm from Italy and have Nothing Phone for a couple of weeks now so I may be missing something.
I've tried ACR, a well thought app for call recording, but unfortunately it doesn't record bluetooth calls (earphone or car's) so as a couple of other apps. I guess it's a problem that every third party app is having, given Google policy.
So, I'm using the Google phone app call recording utility (upper right corder three dots > settings > call recording). This option has popped out the first time I put in the sim card. I suppose everyone can access this option but with Google you never know...
This makes available a button on the phone screen, a switch between call recording and not recording. Actually, it's only manageable when the call is started and it's available switching in the second screen of the app.
Overall it works pretty well, even on Bluetooth calls. The calls are accessible via the call log history and can de saved. The only drawdown is that you have to put a meaningful name to the file when saving it.
What drives me CRAZY is that it doesn't have the option to ALWAYS record the calls. Apparently, it's an available option (Google has a help page dedicated: https://support.google.com/phoneapp/answer/9803950?hl=en) but not for the Italian version. Or at least for my version
Does anyone know if and how I can make it a permanent choice? I don't want to manually switch it every time...
Any help is very appreciated
