I recently purchased a head unit off of alibaba. The manufacturer is Klyde and the model number is KD-1243.
I'm trying to see if I can update the firmware or at the very least do a Is stock firmware install. The MCU is listed as CSM4 which I can't seem to find any information about. It's supposedly a rock chip PX5 system.

If it's recent, I highly suggest you return it. If you want to buy a Rockchip unit, get one with MTCx MCU as you'll be able to run Malaysk ROM on it and make your head unit extremely good.

Are you saying I should return it because its not a rockchip or...?
There's nothing wrong with the unit, it works great...I would like to factory install the firmware though. I don't really trust the **** they put on there.

You said it was Rockchip, just not the right MCU. In general, the firmware for Android Head units is really poorly built. This is why modified firmware exists. My point was - there is nothing out there for your particular head unit. If you're happy with the stock firmware, then by all means, stay with it.
Modified firmware would normally drastically improve performance and tweaking options on an Android. This is why many times people look for available firmware first and then buy a head unit that they can install it on to.

Gotcha. Yeah unfortunately with my car's head unit layout, there are very few head units that fit. With the Mazda CX-5 its basically like a single din unit that protrudes from the dash with the dimensions of a double din.
I'll have to see if I can return it...although uninstalling it and shipping it back to China would be a headache :/

If you PM me, I can try helping you finding an alternative head unit and ensure it doesn't come with fake specs.

Hi all,
Anyone know much about the below unit in the link? I got stung before with a useless android head unit with crap radio reception that could not pull the stringest frequency automatically when driving and i am hoping that this is a significant improvement in the radio department.
Thanks in advance.

Hi do you have find a model ?
I have the same car.
Thanks a lot
I have An Xtrons px5 mtcd unit that likes to glitch out when the temp outside is hotter than 90, and in los angeles thats pretty much all the time. Xtrons wants me to ship it back them for $40 so they can inspect it and if they cant find anything wrong, they will charge me a service charge and return shipping.
Has anybody else had this problem, and how did you fix it?
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated
It may help to put a heatsink in the actual unit. There's a tutorial on how to do it for a Joying HU on here somewhere.

I have seen it I think, that would help with the heat I am sure. I wonder if it would solve my problem. My only concern is if I go that route I have voided the warranty. But I guess it's either try that or try sending it in.
As the title says, they said it will fit my car's frame and it didnt, now I am stuck they wont send me a kit.
I bought the model UOS08N4G and I got Toyota Corolla 2015.
What can I do?

Hey dude thanks, but where do I place the airbag and seat belt indicators?
Thats how my dashboard plastic looks like with the original head unit that came with the car (added banana for scale)

So it kinda looks like you needed a unit that looks more like this one: https://www.seicane.com/inch-2013-2...eel-control-mirror-link-cpu-quad-core-s161035
I don't see a Joying model that is close to that. I don't suppose you can remove the radio from the trim piece and just re-use that? Or is the radio too large?

Apart from the made up brand and model code, what type of unit is it. Think about what others might need to help you.
