hi,everyone.
I have a very old samsung tablet which is gt-p7320, the operation system is 4.0.2? As the OS is too old,I can’t download any apps from Google Play Store. I wanna upgrade it to the latest OS or jailbreak. Do you have any sources for me? Thank you very much

Use at your own risk. It could brick your tablet.
1. Download and install kingroot
https://kingroot.en.uptodown.com/android/download
2. Install this app (rashr) too
https://m.apkpure.com/root-rashr-flash-tool/de.mkrtchyan.recoverytools
3. Go into kingroot, setup the app, and press the menu(three short lines icon), then press on 'try root'
4. Wait until it is rooted
5. Open rashr, it will ask for root access, allow it
6. Extract this zip on computer
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/twrp3020-20160927-p5-zip.5150177/
And find the recovery.img file in that zip. Then move it to the tablet using USB cable.
7. Back to your tablet, choose 'recovery from internal storage' navigate to the recovery.img, and press flash
8. Select reboot to recovery
9. Wait until it booted into recovery
10. Wipe and factory reset

11 files
mega.nz
13. Move the aosp 7.1 zip to the tablet
14. Flash, and select the TWRP zip
15. After complete, press back and back, and select back and move the P7500-open-gapps to the tablet
16.flash and select p7500 opengapps zip

TWRP does not ask for pin

TWRP does not ask for pin, and therefore does not decrypt my storage.
How can I fix this?
Twrp has no security, it can't read anything encrypted, if you just installed it you have to wipe storage and start fresh, its in the twrp thread.
Looks like the Galaxy S8 TWRP is not fully functional yet. It asked me too for a PIN on my previous phone (Xiaomi MI5) and I could work with my encrypted /data partition in TWRP.
twrp is fully functioning you need to flash the dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip after instaling twrp and wiping data . follow the instructions found in the twrp thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...pment/recovery-twrp-galaxy-s8-exynos-t3595102
1. Download and Install Samsung Mobile Phones Drivers.

AT THIS STEP YOU CAN DIRECTLY GO TO PART 3 OF THIS GUIDE IF YOU WANT TO ROOT.
5. Download the latest dm-verity and force encryption disabler zip on your computer.
6. Transfer the zip to your phone.
- Option 1: MTP: Connect your phone with computer and just copy the zip to internal storage. (similar to how you transfer files when in system.)

TWRP is initialized and fully functional at this stage. Now you can either reboot into system or root, flash custom ROMs, Kernels via TWRP
Just rooted my Note 8 and Twrp says my Storage is 0MB
Unable to flash anything using TWRP and Magisk root is unstable too, did you manage to fix this, mine is 0MB with a swipe lockscreen and a pin too.

[GUIDE] LG G Pad 8.3 [v500] Unlock, Root, Flash Official TWRP & Official Lineage OS

[GUIDE] LG G Pad 8.3 [v500] Unlock, Root, Flash Official TWRP & Official Lineage OS
I'm mainly writing this as a step by step reference for myself, but thought others may find this useful as there are some confusing older posts here. A massive thank-you to fefifofum for all his hard work, and he should feel free to correct me if I made a mistake here somewhere. The pad I used this method for was running Android 4.4 KitKat before beginning, so I did not need to downgrade the bootloader as described in this fefifofum post.
1) Acquire an LG G Pad 8.3 V500, charge it to full before beginning, have a PC with a USB (Micro) cable to connect to your pad
2) If necessary, reset the pad to factory defaults with the following hard key combination:
Hold Power + Vol Down > Wait until LG Logo pops up and release from both buttons > quickly hold Power + Vol Up + Vol Down again
Hit Power 3 times to confirm reset
3) On your PC, download the following files to a folder:
-Latest TWRP App (the APK)
-Latest TWRP Recovery for the v500
-Stump Root
-Latest Official LineageOS build for the v500
4) Boot the pad
5) Connect the pad to your PC
6) On the pad select "MTP" to transfer files
7) On the pad go to Settings -> Security -> Allow Installation of Apps from Unknown Sources
8) Copy the 4 files downloaded to your PC to a temporary folder on the pad (you may use the "Download" folder for example)
9) Disconnect the pad from your PC
10) Go to Apps -> File Manager
11) Browse to "All Apps" Internal Storage -> [Folder you saved files to]
12) Select Stump, Install it, Open It
13) Listen to the groovy music as desired
14) Tell it to brute force, and wait until it asks you to reboot
15) Reboot
16) Browse using the File Manager again to the same folder
17) Select TWRP App (not the recovery image), install it, open it
18) In the TWRP App, check all the boxes including use root access
19) In the TWRP App, Go to flash recovery from file, and select the latest TWRP.img file you downloaded (not the APK)
20) Flash that sucker
21) Reboot to Recovery (I use ADB Reboot Recovery, you could also use the hard button method in step 2 above)
22) Marvel at the beauty of Team Win's legendary creation
23) Go to Wipe -> Factory Reset, wait for it to finish, then go back to main TWRP menu
24) Go to Install -> Browse to your file folder from above -> Select the LineageOS build (a .zip file) you downloaded above
25) Install that sucker
26) Optionally, after installation, you may go to Wipe -> Format Data -> yes to clean all the LG crap off your device (this will wipe your downloaded files too FYI)
27) Reboot into Lineage OS, the best Phone&Tablet OS in town
28) Do a little dance
Hope this is helpful to me later, and to others possibly.
UPDATE: Thanks; I answered my own question, to clarify for other noobs; you need to transfer the zip file in its entirety, and twrp will unzip it upon installing!
Hi, for total noobs, the lineage os file is a zip file, does the entire zip file get transferred? or do you un zip first? If so, exactly which file do you install in step 24?
Thanks in advance.
Update:
I got to step 24, I picked some sort of "img" file to update. I have now been staring at the static LG logo for 10 minutes. How long should I wait to figure out if I did something wrong?

You need to install the Lineage OS build at step 24 in TWRP - that will be the .zip file you should have downloaded here:
https://download.lineageos.org/v500
It should look something like:
"lineage-14.1-20180409-nightly-v500-signed.zip"
Hope that helps.
My V500 is on 4.4, totally stock, and has a 'dead' spot on touch in the center of the screen. Happened after the software upgrade to 4.4.
Will flashing Lineage OS fix this issue? It is a software issue, the hardware works properly when tested.

I'm not sure, but I know that flashing Lineage OS will give you way more current and updated software than the old 4.4 build by LG. It probably is worth trying, assuming you back up all your files etc.
By "dead spot" do you mean that the tablet does not register your touches in one area of the screen, or that there is a problem with the display?
Can the files be on the SD card instead of internal memory?

XXXXX - NVM, I went ahead and chose Grind, it then asked if I wanted to Brute Force. All is well. Thanks.... XXXXNeed a little help, please. Step 14 says to tell Stump to use Brute Force, but the app only has a button that says "GRIND". Is Grind the same as Brute Force and shouldn't the instructions mention Grind? Thanks in advance for the step by step instructions. NVM
Let's say I got as far as step 26 and then now every time I reboot (either to System or Recovery) it goes back to the TWRP boot menu. Any idea which step I screwed up?
One thing that I'm somewhat concerned with is that when I try to install lineage-14.1-20180422-nightly-v500-signed.zip or the 0429 file, the Zip signature verification fails for either. So I tried them both, disabling the zip signature verification, so it would complete.
Thanks for the write up, and sorry for what is likely a noob mistake.

There are various ways to do root and various ways to disable it and remove it.
You must write how you did root, because no one will want to answer your question clearly.
You have a long internship in this forum and you should know about XDA rules, especially 1 and 3.
Dear sarahlegs,
Thank you so much for this procedure... Easy, clear, efficient... It took only 30mn to me to proceed and to give a "second youth" to my lovely Lg Pad... !
Here are my (little) feedbacks for noobz, according to my experience :
Step 2 :
After power in your tab by pressing VOL DOWN + POWER, when the LG appears, yes, you'll have to press VOL DOWN + VOL UP + POWER (all together) until the Factory Hard Reset page appears (it's not usual to press VOL UP and DOWN in the same time).
Also you will only have to press POWER two times (not three as indicated in the procedure) to confirm the reset (just follow what is indicated on the screen).
Step 21 :
Boot exactly like step 2. You will be invited to proceed to "Factory Hard Reset" exactly like in step 2. Proceed by pressing 2x times the POWER button and AFTER that the new TRWP menu will appear (don't be afraid to perform the factory reset ! the TRWP only appears after this step... and you'll be able to go on with the procedure).
Also, I may introduce an optional "26.1" step :
If you reboot your tablet now, it will work perfectly, but as a noob you won't find any "Google Play" icon, which can be a little bit disapointing for you (or any "classic" Google tools, like Maps, Gmail, etc..).
Don't worry.
To install all (or some) standard Google applications like Google Play, you need to install the "OpenGapps" package. And you HAVE to install it NOW, before the first reboot (as indicated in the OpenGapps procedure : "If you reboot into LineageOS before installing Google apps, you must factory reset and then install them, otherwise expect crashes.").
Procedure and download links are explained here.
For your LG GPad 8.3 (assuming that you installed the Lineage version indicated in this procedure), select "Lineage 14.1 (Android 7.1)" then on next page, download your package from "ARM" as "Platform" and "7.1" as "Android" (then it's up to you to choose, Nano, Pico, Full etc... I personnaly choosed the "Mini")
Once done, enjoy your renewed Gpad, and thanks again sarahlegs for the great job he did writing this step-by-step procedure (and all people who worked on this lineage realease for Gpad 8.3) !
I have a LG tablet. I really like it, until it started giving me trouble. It has Trouble sometimes restarting etc. It just buzzes instead of coming on. If I shut the screen off, it takes several tries Before it comes back on. Someone said it might need to be flashed again. Do you think it would help it? Please give me some advice. thanks
doesn´t work on mine. Stump says unsupported device.
I have lineage installed and that doesn´t work...

Thanks for the guide. My G pad 8.3 was already rooted with towelroot so i skipped the rooting step.
Once i've flashed LineageOS it just boots back into TWRP, even if i select reboot>system it still just boots into recovery. Anyone know where i'm going wrong or can help fix the issue?
EDIT: I've fixed the issue, i had to run a couple of commands from the terminal that i found in another thread.
Thanks

I'm currently typing and dancing.
This was actually a very nice explanation.
Usually these things are too technical and you have to do research for years, but I know have LineageOS on my GPad8.3 V500 and I'm happy, happy, happy!
Anyone know if this will work on a VK810 4G model?
Can I just say a big thanks to this post and other comments - my tablet has gone from being an old and increasingly unloved device running Android 4, to become a slick clean interfaced smooth running Nougat machine. It is so good I have just bought another V500 off eBay. The OS maintainer is doing a fantastic job ( I just hope Lineage 15 will be here soon )
I've got a stock V500 running Lollipop, that I force upgraded back in the day. I'm told I have to downgrade this back to Kitkat in order to start playing with ROMs, is that true? And if so, is there a guide to do so - the link in the OP doesn't work anymore. Any advice would be appreciated!

How to install custom recovery and root
1. Go to settings on your phone and go to 'about phone' and find where it says build number and click on it 7 times and you unlock developer options.
2. Go into developer options and enable USB debugging and OEM unlock.
3. Download Odin on your PC and install https://samsungodin.com
4. Download twrp .tar file to your PC
J500f is here https://twrp.me/samsung
5. Download USB drivers for your model(your PC should automatically do it when you connect your device)
6. Connect youe device to PC and turn your device off
Next you want to put it into download mode. To do this gold the power button, vol down button and home button simultaneously
7. Disable auto reboot in Odin on PC. Then click the AP tab and locate the twrp file.
Flash the file onto your phone and disconnect from the PC once finished.
Next part is really important.
8. DO NOT REBOOT YOUR DEVICE YET. if you reboot you will lose your custom recovery.
While the phone is still in download mode after you disconnect from PC just remove the battery do not turn it off or reboot it.
9. Put the battery back in and then hold power button, home button and vol up button (same as putting into download only volume up instead of volume down)
10. This should reboot you into your brand new twrp recovery.
11. Just reboot device from twrp settings for now.
12. Download magisk zip to your device. You will find latest stable on first post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
13. Turn your device off again. Reboot to recovery same as before (home button, power button and volume up button)
14. Click on install in twrp and locate the magisk.zip file and click on it and flash the file.
15. Reboot once done and go to magisk manager in your app drawer which the magisk.zip will install and thats it

How to install a rom
You must have custom recovery installed see the above comment to install.
1. Download the rom you wish to install and put it on your external SD card
2. Reboot your device to recovery.
3. Go to wipe >> advanced wipe and wipe system, data, internal, dalvik and cache.
4. Go to install and search for your rom.zip on external SD card.
5. Flash it and thats it.
6. If you want Google apps (gapps) you will have to download a suitable gapps package for your device and new rom. If your new rom is android 9 pie then download arm gapps, android version 9 and I would recommend the lighter gapps package like nano or pico.
7. Flash gapps right after flashing your rom.
8. Optional wipe dalvik and cache just in case and thats it

8. Optional wipe dalvik and cache just in case and thats it
Click to collapse
thank you so much you are the best ??

At my wits end

So I'm trying to get Magisk installed on my bootloader/OEM Unlocked S10+ (SM-G975F beyond2lte) device.
I can do that fine by downloading the latest official firmware for my device, installing that (BL/AP/CP/CSC) through Odin v3.14.
That installs fine.
Then I sideload Magisk v23.0, and the AP file I just flashed via Odin over adb via push.
I install Magisk, recovery-patch the AP file, usd adb to pull the file back over onto my desktop. I restart the phone in download mode and once again populate Odin with the BL/AP/CP/CSC files, but this time the AP file is the one I got from Magisk.
Start that, let Odin restart my phone whilst I'm holding Bixby/Power-Up/Power, I release those three once the bootloader warning message comes up.
I set the phone up like normal, but there's the issue - my 128GB device only reads as having 32GB - I can setup Magisk fine, it asks me to download an extra bit, then auto-restarts the phone after 5 seconds.
Yay, I have root! Boo, I'm missing 96GB of free space...
I've read that installing TWRP can help fix this, fair enough, I try to install TWRP (I've tried through both the "dd" method via adb shell, and patching the twrp 3.5.2_9-3 via Magisk, and installing with vbmeta over Odin), but that then eliminates Magisk.
I've been trying this now for days, literally days, reading through different forum posts, detailing my steps to myself in notepad++ step-by-step so I can see what it is I'm doing.
I'm left with zero clue what to do now except reach out and hope for some help from this forum.
Should have known... Now that I've posted on XDA it's fixed... In-case anybody else is having trouble here are the steps I've written down for myself.
Phone is S10+ SM-G975F (beyond2lte) - Bootloader / OEM Unlock is already unlocked.

1. Copy the "beyond2lte-boot-magisk.img" onto phone (see URL above)
2. Run Magisk, patch the "beyond2lte-boot-magisk.img" file, then copy it over onto your MicroSD (I just find it easier)
3. Boot into TWRP > Install > Install Image button (Bottom Right)
a. If TWRP has vanished, follow steps above to get it back
4. Flash the patched file to "Boot"
5. Go to TWRP Home screen > Reboot into Recovery (not into System)
6. Check Magisk Manager should have Root again (Don't update Magisk via app though, or you’ll bollocks the whole thing up, and have to start all over from the start.)
