Bought a moto g7 phone in US and brought it to India. Jio VoLTE is not supported so using JioCall application. Now looking for alternatives. *#*#4636#*#* shows IMS status as not registered. Jio and Moto customer care executives said they can't do anything since the device is from US. Is there a way to change the IMS status?
When SIM is inserted into OnePlus 6T purchased in India itself VoLTE works fine. It is surely device compatibility issue. Can anybody please suggest a way to make the phone support Jio VoLTE? I'm even ok to root and flash it with any suggested custom ROM.

Hi, this is my first post on XDA.
I ordered a LG V20 H990DS unlocked Taiwanese edition from Amazon for T-Mobile US. It is a good phone and it works really well with TMo LTE. However, two features are missing: VoLTE and Wi-Fi Calling. Does anyone know how to turn on VoLTE or add VoLTE for unlocked phones? Do I need to root it and flash it with a T-Mobile ROM? If so, will it lock me into TMo?

Are yousure you have the h990ds and not h990n? Because h990n has it
Try downloading the app "quick shortcut maker" and search for Wi-Fi calling. It is hidden in the US unlocked model. You should have bought the US unlocked model. Amazon, BH and Best Buy sell it.

I am using Moto x style [xt1572] with custom rom installed LineageOS and a jio sim also. But I am unable to make calls without jio4g voice app which I think is not necessary for the os with volte update. Is there any settings i am missing or any solution to this ??

The VoLTE which you are talking about doesn't work with Jio 4G. It's intended for the US carriers. So you still need to use Jio4GVoice if you want to make calls via Jio.
VoLTE works perfectly in original/official firmware. Including the Jio 4G.
It's implementation in CM/Lineage based ROMs is not correct.

Jio4G works on any rom. JIO VOLTE doesn't work on any rom on moto x style. As long as motorola doesn't support jio volte, no one can do anything to make it work
Open dial pad and type *#*#4636#*#*
Select phone information.
You can turn on your VoLTE option from: "VoLTE provisioned".
Then go back in "Network Settings" for the "Enhanced LTE" switch.
At least that's where it is on my stock firmware. And BTW, it works.

That doesn't work for jio volte
I need to fix my baseband to get back my VoLTE again. Now a day it's hard for me to use my device without VoLTE as my network provider only support VoLTE band so I can't make any calls or even can't receive any calls. Please do support me so that I can use the "qcn backup" given by you and fix my VoLTE again. Thank-you.
Can we flash Moto z2 play or any Motorola device with Oreo modem for bringing back volte..?

I have no idea about this.. But i have seen lots of people successfully flashed z2 bootloader on potter...

Yes, flashing Indian firmware might solve this. But take a back up before you try. You may have to resort to original firmware. And no Oreo version so far for H870DS. Best of luck!

but indian H870DS is dual sim and H870 is single sim. will this leads to any problem?
and im afraid that flashing h870ds firmware cause hard brick .

Don't flash ds firmware on standard h870, you loose modem and other hardware things that are different.
Do you have a custom (AOSP) ROM? There is currently AFAIK no way to get voLTE working on AOSP ROMs.

Anyone could share some experience?

It turns off the check with your carrier as to whether you have volte enabled.... I think. Worked for me.

I had volte problem too, because the volte service wasn't enabled for my sim card. It was necessary to ask my service provider (Digi EU) to be activated for my sim card... After this I tested a lots of roms, and don't remember to have volte problem. AOSP roms usually have enabled volte option by default.
Just to be sure, did you checked your sim card with another phone, if have volte activated?

Yeah mate i tested my sim with other phone and volte worked.
Also i tested another TIM Brasil sim (with volte working on another device) on my phone and got no success.
currently i believe the problem is a carrier+device problem, like "TIM Brazil blocks VoLTE on IMEIs from unregistered devices".
i must test another carrier's sim on my phone to further narrow down the problem. but got none around tho.
