Accessibility crashes when tapping "Installed services" - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

The accessibility app crashes when tapping the Installed services option, but only when over 8 services are installed. It does not appear to be related to what services are installed, just that too many are installed.

Did you disable any Facebook apps starting with com.facebook.etc.? I believe these are needed for VR stuff, Oculus belongs to Facebook. There should be 2 of them.

I just received my oculus. I have the GS7 edge. When I connect my phone to the oculus for initial setup, then remove it as instructed, I get a network error. I've taken both to AT&T and have spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with various people. No one could help. Anyone have any ideas?

Hello!
After the most recent Gear VR update, we noticed that you may be having issues upgrading to the latest version of the Oculus software. This also may affect your ability to download and install content for your Gear VR. This may be due to having some critical Oculus services blocked or disabled. Below are some steps to help enable those services to allow this update and future updates to reach your Samsung device for Gear VR usage.
If you continue to have problems after following the instructions below, please reach out to Oculus Support via https://support.oculus.com and we will work with you to resolve your issue.
Why aren't Gear VR apps installing or updating on my mobile phone?
If Gear VR apps aren't installing on your mobile phone, the most likely reason is that the App Manager and Installer aren't enabled.
What does the App Manager and Installer do?
The App Manager and Installer allow Gear VR apps to be installed on your mobile phone. It also makes sure that the latest versions of Oculus apps are on your mobile phone.
How do I turn on App Manager and Installer ?
To turn on the App Manager and Installer, tap on the "Settings" application, then "Applications" and finally "Application Manager". Make sure you have chosen the "All" category and find the following applications:
com.facebook.appmanager (App Manager)
com.facebook.system (Installer)
Tap into each and make sure they are enabled.
Unable to find com.facebook.system
If you are on Android OS 6.0 (Marshmallow), com.facebook.system may not be visible. Please try the following steps:
1. Navigate to Settings
2. Tap on Application Manager
3. Locate the More menu in the upper right corner
4. Tap Show System Apps
5. This will make com.facebook.system visible and allow you to enable it
The App Manager and the Installer must be enabled before Gear VR apps can be installed and updated on your mobile phone.

You nailed it. I had a notification that said com.facebook needs to install. Once I completed the install i could install groove and other apps from the Oculus app store.

This fixed my issue, thank you!
Hi,
Currently working with the Samsung Gear VR on a S6 Edge. Recently, I factory reset my phone due to lack of storage space. When I went to reinstall Oculus everything went through fine but when I try to install apps from the Oculus store it goes through the download process, then when it begins installation it stops and says, "Could not install (app name)." Facebook app manager and Facebook app installer are both enabled and I still get the error. Please help, can't seem to find a solution.
Have you found a solution? We have exactly the same issue with the same equipment.
Guys, Here is the solution, may be the only solution in the internet for this issue.
My device is Samsung S6 edge and Device is Gear VR and Hopefully the solution applies to all the devices with the same issue.
1. Need to install Facebook app and sign in
2. Login to oculus using facebook account
Important part is, it seems some of the service doesn't have the storage permission, what I did was allow storage permission to all the "Oculus" Applications and "Facebook" application which are in direct apps as well as systems apps.
Works fine for me !! Thank you

CAN'T INSTALL APP - There was a problem parsing the package

I can't install a specific app (corporate variant: "Android MHMP"), the app is NOT from Play Store, but a custom app downloaded from a secure gateway app: "BlackBerry Access".
From what I read on the web, this is is realted to "Uknown sources", but it seems this option has been removed in Android Oreo (What I have - 8.0 the latest version).
Is there any resolution for this issue?
This is also caused by the app being incompatible with the version of Android installed. Older apps may not work on newer versions of Android while newer apps might not be supported by older versions...
Eventually I've resolved this issue by running the app from 'Total Commander' app, choosing 'package installer', then Android notifies that I need to change the setting of 'Unknown sources' for the 'Total Commander' app and that's all - success in installation.
To conclude - just run the app from 'Total Commander'.

Blocked from installing GMSinstaller

Hi all, I have a Mediapad M3 lite 10 (BAH-W09) obtained in China. It's currently running Emui 5.1.3 and Android 7.0 u rooted. Im currently trying to install a Google system on it for work purposes. I've tried using GMSinstaller but the whole apk is blocked. [App may damage your device, installation forbidden]. There is no option in the security menu to prevent checks on apks. I've also tried to manually installing the framework and play services but the play store still asks to install the core GMS packages. Is there a work around for this?

When I switched off and on the external sources/third party app radio buttons, there was an option to "Enable external sources app to scan..." that was enabled by default. I disabled that tick box and it never checked any APK's again.
Hope this works for you.

[GUIDE] How to enable RCS on your Galaxy device - One UI Google Messages

Hi there everyone! Today I will show you how to install the "secret" One UI version of Google Messages!
The best things about this "special" version are that:
it has RCS enabled by default,
it will get the features from Samsung Messages. And the best? It will be
it is already native in Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold3/Flip, etc.
NOTE: There is no ARM .apk available yet. This method will only work for ARM64 devices (for now).
Video guide:
Too long; didn't watch steps:
If you already have it installed, uninstall Google Messages.
Go to APKMirror and search for Google Messages.
Tap on the most recent version of the app. It's usually the one on the top (for example, 9.3.002 is newer than 9.2.030).
Scroll down to see all the available downloads.
Tap on the "(...phone_samsung_dynamic)" variant. If there is no such variant, you may try installing an older version or wait until it'll be uploaded.
Tap on "DOWNLOAD APK BUNDLE".
Launch the Google Play Store and search for "APKMirror".
Install APKMirror Installer (Offical).
Launch APKMirror Installer.
Tap on Browse files.
Allow all the permissions it asks.
Go to the directory where the .apkm file is and tap on it.
Tap on Install package.
Tap on Install app.
Turn on "Allow from this source" and go back.
Tap on Install app again.
When a pop-up appears, tap on Install.
Launch Google Messages.
Allow all permissions and set it as your default SMS app.
Close the app from the Recents menu and launch it again.
─── Enabling RCS and features from Samsung Messages ───
Tap on the triple dots on the top right and go to Settings.
Tap on Chat features.
Turn on "Enable chat features".
When the pop-up appears, tap on Allow.
Tap on "Verify your number" and insert your number.
Wait until the Status changes to "Connected". If it doesn't, restart your device and try again.
Go back to Settings and then go to Advanced.
Tap on Text on Galaxy devices.
Turn on "Allow Bixby and text on Galaxy devices".
Close the app from the Recents menu and launch it again.
Enjoy the new Messages app!
