Not sure what do to, i535pp Verizon... - Galaxy S III General (US Carriers)

I'm really into audiobooks. A good standalone audiobook player is very hard to find, so I take old Android phones and load 'smart audio book player' on them. Then I just leave them in the car.
My old audio book player phone died (some old pos LG), so I bought another old phone on marketplace for $10.
It's a Samsung Galaxy S3 (SCH-i535pp) and it looks new!
But I can not get past the activation screen!
It looks like a newer version OS than that ones that suggest various screen taps then up-vol. I tried to load older code on it with Odin, but the BL is locked. I can't find any information on how to unlock the BL.
I don't care about root, I don't care about a custom OS, I just want to get past the activation screen.
I'm considering opening it up and removing the SIM chip.
Any ideas?

Brand New Samsung Focus Keeps Rebooting

I just grabbed a Brand New Sealed Samsung Focus for rogers, unlocked it to use for Bell Canada. Before I even put my Sim card in I plugged it into Zune and did the updates, had like 4 or 5 updates and I'm finally on the most recent one.
Put My sim card in, punched in the unlock code and started to setup my gmail, hotmail and downloading my apps after I setup my APN for data usage. ........ Crash reboot, crash reboot, basically I can use it between 30 seconds to 20 mins straight before it reboots which is very frustrating. I called Rogers and they said they will send me a new one, I'm not sure if they'll actually do this so crossing fingers here.
Now I've NEVER used any memory cards on the device and I"m in process of restoring the phone back to original firmware by using Zune and I keep pressing Restore, do you folks have any other suggestions? It still has all the protective film on it, this is my first Windows Device and I'm regretting it.

First, you should not regret it as it's unfair to burn all the forest because of a few dried up branches on a few trees
It might happen something's wrong with the hardware and the latest update just exposed that.
Restoring should fix it. Then you could try updating again. If you can't restore then wait for them to exchange it. If they won't, look for the ROM thread here and flash the ROM and then try to restore.
Good luck!
Hang in there.. I started with and HTC HD7 (T-mobile branded) on FIDO and it also did the reboot thing. I couldn't exactly take it back to the store so i re-flashed it and it worked perfectly after that.
So ya it is likely a lemon in the batch. Just take it back to Rogers and make them replace it.
BTW... I then went with Samsung Focus, Captivate on FIDO too. The Focus had Windows Phone 7 and worked great except for MMS on FIDO.
I am now on Mobilicity and have another T-Mobile HD7. All is good except speaker ( I blame the hardware not the OS).
And now I just picked up the Nokia Lumia 710 from Rogers to use on Mobilicity. Decent little phone for the money ($254.99 off contract price). Just paid for unlock code from Internet and waiting for the email to come in. And it's a Penta Band so no issues on any network.
So WP7 is a great OS with better things to come (Apollo OS).
Got a Brand New Unit from Rogers, selling it for $200. No more windows phones until the Lumia 800/900 is out in Canada.

[Q] Problems with Galaxy 5s 900S (CLONE)

Hi. I have a Samsung Galaxy 5s SM-900S. I discovered after buying it that it is a clone. Oh well!
I rooted it using Root Genius (Chinese) from Shuame download.
It was working great. Then I deleted some bloatware apps, and disabled others.
After that, all hell broke loose. I was stuck in a flash screen boot loop.
A techie friend put the phone in download mode, and it was able to open up, but no home page.
Then he downloaded Nova launcher, and I got my home page back.
But it was a slightly different home page.
The phone originally said 900T (under- about device), but I know it is G900S (from 3 apps that display the phone specs).
Now it says G900.
The problems now are:
1. my phone dialer disappeared. I downloaded another, but it wont ring when a call comes in
2. Every few minutes when doing anything, I get a message- Unfortunately, the process android process.acore has stopped.
I then must press the ok button to continue.
Can anyone help me? Do I need to flash a new ROM?
I don't wantto reset to factory settings if I can avoid it.
I am a newbie. But I learn fast.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm just going to let you know right now... You're not going to get support in an official device thread for a clone.
I`m sorry you got scammed mate, try to get your money back or file a police report for fraude if the device was advertised as a genuine Galaxy S5.
There is no support for this (also not by the manufacturer) device and even finding a working rom wil be very difficult.
Good luck and hope you learn from this, if it sounds to be too good to be true, it usualy is
Sad to say, but he's pretty much out of luck. Scammers know they're selling a phone that's not genuine, so chances of getting money back are slim to none. Police also don't care. If you bought it with cash just take this as a life lesson, because there's pretty much nothing else you can do.

FRP Lock - Remove/Bypass Assistance Requested

So I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, or rather my friend does but he brought it to me for some work. That being said he has about 20 different Gmail accounts with about 20 different passwords and he doesn't know which one belongs to which and I factory reset the phone part of discovering which one was the master account. In any case I try to use Chimera to do an FRP unlock but unfortunately because it is on Android 7.0 it did not let me do this. I also try to roll it back to 6.0 or 6.1 rather butt same.
I read a few different online guides and one of them was on how to do the network unlock by doing a bypass of the Wi-Fi to get around the initial settings and then from there you open up the terms and policies with the long press and allows you to open up the app manager in you go to settings there. The problem is is that unfortunately that seems be disabled on some security update to happen for 6.1 on one of the OTAs at some point in time
I saw there were few different tools out there but the one that I was able to read the guide on seem to not work at all because when I hit the button the response I got was green but the diamond ever popped up if that makes any sense. In any case it's 2017 about halfway through the year and it seems that every FRP unlock has changed modestly since 2015 near the end of the year.
Is there a current method on how to refresh that are peel off whether it is the change out Sims 2 loaded if in firmware to do something. But the phone is not even to root it yet but I intend to do so after we get into the phone directly. Please provide any assistance if you have it.
Thus, uh... Really sounds like your "friend" stole this phone ?
No. If we provide you any solutions even if what you said is true, other people with stolen phones can bypass the very measure that Samsung incorporated to disable stolen phones. If it is truly your 'friend's device, tell him ANY Google account he used with the phone will get rid of the frp lock. It doesn't have to be a specific one.

Not true at all.
It has to be the account that was logged into at the time of the reset. You can easily link your Google account to the phone and it still won't allow you to use your account to open it back up.
Not a troll either but in about same place this guy is just mine is legit
So basically this is what has got me messing around with flashing and trying to mess with the firmware also different settings on the android system. However so like the previous user which actually does sound like his "friend " did steal it. This one is a S7 I actually purchased in la. It is not a nightmare of a drive but for $200 it almost is. Im almost about to sell the phone on ebay. I immediately after purchase spoke with t-mobile and was told phone was good just it was sim locked. I would need to sign up with there service. The phone was supposedly frp free and sim unlocked for any carrier in the americas and europe. Very far from the case. I put my personal sim card in for att get the same network id message or the puk when i enter it wrong have tried even new att sim cards. Att is offering me the same deal but said to prepay for 90 days. I am not sure how this makes sense since how is unlocking the sim also going to unlock the google account from previous owner??? I keep trying different methods with odin and smart synch. Any other random apps basically and best I do is make a paper weight or can get to my imei on a legit dial pad however I try to go to even change to imei from previous phone which is still active just broken screen but still have the same issue. I am thinking at this point mabye t mobile and att are the hassle here and half the videos have helped me about 10% from youtube and different docs. I have been going on trial and error for about 2 weeks now. Called t mobile back last night same story just due to all the the theft but she again checked my imei on the device and said it was all good still to get back to them when ready to commit to service. yeah.... right. But Im trying to avoid just throwing the thing the next time I brick it or sell it on ebay. I am doing everything correctly and all is legit. Even trying to transfer my other phones info if needed. Obviously it is still sim locked and has frp through google. Please help any ideas. I am about to probably throw it before I ever get the chance to sell it is that frustrating. One thing I cannot get to work correctly is rooting. I even went loaded apps on sd card went into apply updates or data from sd card and reads folders but not the program im trying to use for rooting. I have done multiple times on many devices. I dont know if t mobile is just like jumping through hoops or am i just skipping some small detail somewhere in the process. IDK HELP PLEASE ANY FEEDBACK IS APPRECIATED. I AM USING THE NOUGHAT FIRMWARE, I TRIED ON MARSHMELLOW AND EVERYTHING GOES THROUGH THEN AT END GETS CAUGHT UP WHEN I GO BACK TO UPDATE BACK TO CURRENT FIRMWARE.

Nothing I read stated that you have, or even know, what an FRP Locked device [is]. I'll skip badgering you with pointless questions & just jump straight to giving you solutions:
1) Flash & boot into TWRP Recovery > Wipe the IntrnlStrg/Cache/Dalvik/System (system is key > Flash stock firmware
2) Find my Galaxy S7 & S7e FRP Bypass post here on XDA (for advanced users)
3) Do more research
I'm not trying to sound like an asshole so I apologize if I come off strong - I'm [almost literally] sick of reading all these f*cking crybabieson XDA, or other sites, begging for somebody to solve their problem instead of doing their own research & trial error runs. I have successfully bypassed FRP on 30+ different devices from different carriers with different security patch updates on Lollipop-Nougat OS by using various different methods that are(n't) common (S7 included)
Bypassing FRP is Elementary school difficult. This sh¡t is checkers, not chess. My spiel is done with
Good luck.
I think I ended up with this guy's phone from Craigslist...

I have a similar model that I got off of Craiglist:
- Samsung SM-G900T
- completely up to date
- freshly re-imaged and FRP locked
- no soft FRP bypass works (probably updated to the absolute most current version of Android)
- not detected by Odin/Octopus (appears USB connectivity is disabled - it won't even show up when plugged in, anywhere).
- doesn't appear that USB debugging was enabled before the reset
- ADB and download mode just sit on "downloading/looking for filename" - I assume both options are being blocked from the USB connection, so there's no activity on the PC/Odin/tools when I use these options
The only activity when plugging in is that on the phone it goes 'blip blip' and has a little graphic over the USB port.
I liked your suggestion of do more research but this is stumping me, mostly because the USB appears to have 0 life other than to charge the phone.
Only thing I have not tried it OTG cable apk but I'm not hopeful. Friend is giving me a cable when I see him in a few days.

Open to anything! A different came (not new) doesn't do anything when I plug it in. The cable that came with it charges it and is detected by phone, but not by PC.
I'll go buy a new cable and see it it does anything. Meanwhile I'll try all the previous versions of Odin. I also suspect the most recent version might not be doing the trick for some reason (having rooted and flashed about a dozen phones on prior versions).
It completely boots either Oreo 8.0 or 8.1 to the Welcome setup wizard every time. None of the soft tricks get me any further than the FRP.
Want me to post a picture or anything? Download bootloader or FRP screen? I've also ordered an OTG cable to try out the apk work around.
edit: also tried jodin on a mac mini and odin on a different laptop. I have an older laptop I may try too.

Sorry - I used an S5 for years and miquoted you the model. It's an SM-G930T (T-Mobile S7) The drivers on both systems are all up to date as well. It's 0x0, qualcomm, k1 s3 if that helps.
Again, sorry for PM, just curious on your thoughts with this one. Also wondering if you know if Download Mode would supercede any FRP or security settings. I keep trying various versions of Odin while connected in Download Mode - no COM port getting assigned.

I got ahead of myself and still need assistance.
I've managed to fix a few things (it would fail constantly in odin and result in a failed firmware screen upon restart).
Current situation:
- USB debugging was not enabled
- FRP is locked on Android 7.x
- I can upgrade/downgrade the firmware, but upon restart it pops up "Erasing" then "Installing updates" then "Erasing" so its basically undoing any security unpatching I'm try to do. Currently it's got G930TUVU4BQG5 July 2017 firmware, but the security patches to prevent RealTime, SideSync, Smart Switch and other dialer programs etc seem in place.
- I can put a COMBINATION firmware which gets me into a factory binary, but I don't see anything in here and have to reflash back to G930TUVU4BQG5
- Spamming RealTime to repeat dial a number shows me the traditional "calling" screen, but bluetooth, end call, etc are all greyed out.
- I have no SIM installed.
This guy did an FRP unlock (most up to date security patch) in 10 minutes. EXCELLENT service.

New user with a Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone in search of Help

Hi, my name is Nan & i just bought this Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro (SM-S327VL) Tracfone...though i can take apart & rebuild a computer, laptop & even tablets from the ground up, im new to Smartphones, a virtual Noob..but..i learn quickly, once i've been shown how or where to learn abt stuff.....bought this phone cos i can't afford the high end phones & it seemed to have some nice features...and quite frankly i did not expect to have all this trouble finding information on how to tweak it or i would have kept my ancient relic trusty flipfone......this Luna, it's loaded with bloatwarez...so i saved & bought a huge 256 mSD(SanDisk, not a knockoff) for it..but hardly anything will move to the SD even though i made it the go to download storage, replacing the internal....hate loosing all the cool apps i have on it & giving up the dream of an integrated AI Smarthome(have Echo & Dot & hubs & Echo already answers landline & makes calls, etc) All run by a Smartphone instead of a gaggly collection of remotes & lets not forget all those delish VR capabilities i know are underway...my fear is..the apps themselves may be refusing to move? Absurd as that seems it sure seems that way..&...Every rooter i've looked at seems to be for the original J3 but not the Luna.....without full knowledge im scared of creating a pretty pathetic paperweight brick...too many infos on this phone are greyed out...Does a place exist to read up on full details the obviously Altered Android of this particular phone? & if not does anyone here know what, if anything, can i do to take the necessary steps for manual root & maybe even check if it's possibly still somehow locked? Or...maybe...i simp[ly got what i paid for...ugh >< .....i know these questions have probably been asked many times over but my searching these forums for several hours didn't produce any...so..im asking now...Any & All infos will be Gratefully Appreciated!

Or...maybe...i simp[ly got what i paid for...ugh >< .....i know these questions have probably been asked many times over but my searching these forums for several hours didn't produce any...so..im asking now...Any & All infos will be Gratefully Appreciated!

i've been running scans all day..and night..."say your right words" for the right results is exhausting..:cyclops:
The 1 & Only result is this page : ht_tps:_//_www_unlockbase_com/unlock-phone/samsung/galaxy-j3-luna-pro
& it said this abt how to do it:
How to Unlock Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro?
1. Insert SIM card from a source different than your original Service Provider
2. (i.e. if you have a Rogers phone, use a non-Rogers SIM card),
3. Phone will ask you to enter Sim unlock pin
4. Enter unlock code
Phone will be unlocked
I have same phone. Nothing's rooting it. But I'm not very knowledgeable on root, flash, roms etc.
Did u get root sucess?
for rooting theres been work but no Cigar the J3 Luna Pro is shipped w/ a Locked bootloader and Knox Enabled / SELinux set to Enforcing. without a signed rom w/ these disabled rooting goes and will go nowhere. :/ if you got this phone for rooting you screwed teh pooch as it were to use a slightly bad term.
and i belive tracphone's unlocking rules is you haveto have the device n activated for like a year or 2 i think? if you want a verry similar phone seems they had success w/ the J3 Emerge which is pretty much the same exact phone but w/ more ram to the thing. and designed to run on the bigger carrier's networks

SIMCARD not detected after backup/restore different phone

Dear developers,
My rooted S8 just started acting up, sound broke completely and everything starts crashing related with watching videos or sound. Phone calls are stuck on speaker phone and it will not react on any other input. I decided to backup the phone, and restore it on a differnt rooted S8.
It works great on the other S8 however the SIMCARD just will not work. It does not detect the simcard being inserted or removed. I wiped the backup and no difference. When I restore the original samsung rom (rooted) with trwp etc, the simcard is detected. So it must be somesort of software issue.
Any ideas?

Sounds like your emmc is corrupt. Afaik you cannot write a new firmware without about 450$ invested in a factory jig and dongle. Possibly one of those multi-phone dealer stores you see run out of the side of gas stations selling boost, cricket and used phones has the tools and will charge you less but it's honestly way cheaper and much less hassle to buy a used motherboard and swap it.
That being said, be sure you know what to look for. I will be posting a motherboard buyer's guide for this very soon to know what to be aware of and how to best protect yourself from being scammed with an FRP Locked or carrier locked board.
There are ways to repair it from inside the phone using the built in secret factory menus but I've only ever managed to mess it up even further using the emmc write functions. There are some gurus on here though so I would check the forum for the threads for the secret menus and try and ask the gurus there.
Good luck!
