Hi everyone,
I wanted to load a custom rom on my op2. I am not using it anymore and it still got cyanogenmod on it. I tried Lineage 18.1 but got "Error 1 - Error installing zip file".
I tried another TWRP version but same results. After that I tried OxygenOS 14 OTA, this one installed fine but i still can't install lineage neither 17.1 nor 18.1.
How can I fix this?
Okay got it working now.
First I had newest TWRP but no rom and got error 1.
Than I tried older TWRP without rom - error 1
Installed stock OS + old TWRP - error 1
updated TWRP + stock os installed and it worked.

For a few days now i have being trying to install a customer ROM on my Samsung J5, EVERY ROM i have downloaded has failed with errors stating that the ROM is for J5nlte NOT for j5nltexx even if the file name has been relating to j5nltexx.
I have tried to change/remove the assert line in the install package with no success.
has anybody got/or can recommend a ROM that WILL work with samsung J5 (j5nltexx) - I Currently have a phone that will not boot into a ROM, but will happily boot into TWRP 3.1.1-0
***Update***
The CM13 firmware installed and initially booted, but then went into a boot loop at "optimising apps", still unable to successfully install a custom ROM of any sort, tried Skies and ASUX both didn't boot, even with an Aroma aware TWRP install (confirmed by attempting to install CM13)
Since rebuilding with a "greek" factory ROM, my phone is now showing as sm-j5lte anymore advise will be well recieved
Thanks in Advance

Re-installed TWRP (this time with Aroma support) from @Zonic here To be able to install CyanogenMod 13.0 for Galaxy J5 Here do i need to Marshmallow (6.0.1) BEFORE i attempt a firmware upgrade?
Thanks
Hello, i was using Skydragon 5.1.1 and it started to become slow, got optimizing apps everytime i restarted the phone, and wanted to flash to LineageOS
Figured I`d update TWRP to latest version, so I got that from their site, version 3.1.1-0 and when I wanted to boot to recovery it would become stuck at the bootscreen. Same thing with any other version over 3.0.2-0.
Used FirstAid to revert to older version of TWRP, and managed to install 3.0.2-0 again and boot to recovery normally.
With this version it seems i cannot install LineageOS because it gives an error.
How do I go about installing Nougat ? Thanks !
First u should install the 3.6.0 Firmware then try install Nougat

I have the same problem. Have you found a solution yet?
I installed the Dilshad V10UX rom on my galaxy note 3 exynos, it installed perfectly I used it for a couple of days and it worked fine except for the battery.
So I decided to install a new kernel (the silvernote kernel) via TWRP recovery. I flashed the boot image and tried to boot into my phone but all I got was the SAMSUNG screen then blackness. Luckily I had a backup so I just reverted back.
Then I decided to install Magisk but this failed too. When trying it on Magisk Manager I got the error "unable to replace boot.img" and when flashing the zip via TWRP it installed correctly but lead to a bootloop. (I uninstalled SuperSU via the unSUzip)
Am I doing it correctly or does this rom not like being changed?
Report BUG in rom thread but suggest you read / search thread first .
SOLVED: TWRP 3.0.3 uploaded by sub77 on androidfilehost doesn't properly recognize devices. I flashed the older 3.0.2-8 and it works fine and let me able to flash matisselte rom. Anyway, I flashed crdroid but It's stuck on boot animation.
Hello everybody,
I recently bought a secondhand Galaxy Tab 4 SM-T535. It has the android stock rom 5.2 and I wanted to flash a CM or any custom rom to speed it up a bit and remove all pre-installed apps. I did flash TWRP through Odin and it works fine, then I copied Gapps for 7.1 pico versiĆ³n and crDroid custom rom based on LineageOS 14.1 and nougat 7.1 for matisselte aka Tab 4 SM-T535. I followed instructions (that are pretty the same for every custom rom) so I wiped dalvik, cache, system and data, then I flashed (tried to) crDroid 14.1 zip and... TWRP says something like: unable to flash zip, it is for device matisselte but this is matissewifi. Wtf?! So, ok. I thought I'm blind and I got the wrong version, I downloaded the matissewifi version, tried to flash again and it did flash. Then I flashed Gapps and rebooted, now it goes directly in download mode and says Could not boot normally... What is happening? I also tried CM 14.1 for matissewifi, it flashes but can't boot and I'm unable to flash the matisselte version. Why?
it is for sure the LTE tablet, I read it in settings and info in the android stock rom and it has a sim slot, so it can't be the wifi one.
Thank you in advance for any reply. Let me know if you need more informations. Thanks.
P. S. I already searched in the forum and didn't find any similar case.
Hi,
has anybody found a solution...?
seen too late.....

So glad you posted this because I had failed in all my attempts and had tried a few TWRP versions but not that one, which worked perfectly with Lineage 14.1.
so i was on oreo 8.1 soak test version and wanted to upgrade to a 64 bit custom rom based on oreo. unlocked the bootloader. flashed TWRP (3.2.3-1) . Then i flashed franken rom based on 8.1 and opengapps arm64 mini for 8.1.x. everything was right until i figured out that there was no fingerprint functionality. i followed this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/fingerprint-enrollment-custom-rom-t3804908 and first flashed the persist fix zip and then the stock 7.0 rom. everything worked fine and i was on stock 7.0 and then i tried to again flash the franken rom but this time the rom was flashed successfully but during gapps installation i got ERROR code 20 and it said something like "incompatible rom found". it was detecting the the rom as 7.1.2. but neither the stock was 7.1.2 nor the franken one and i had also wiped dalvik, data, system and cache before flashing the franken. i tried again and again but failed. what may be the problem here?
sorry for the story like description
